I asked a simple question: "What is VPN?" I got dumped to pay for an Apple answer. I already have Apple Care. I just made a $15 Firefox donation. I have just signed up for the New, Improved Firefox after a lengthy absence from Firefox for being unhappy with the program. NOW... You ask ME to be nice! ? ! - Adrienne Pollak

This happens far too often, in the course of 9 months or more frequently. What is going on Firefox? v88.0.1 Windows 10

Constant script errors that freeze whatever program I am in, regardless of the option I choose - the popup no longer gives me a WAIT or STOP IT. The box comes up that says DON'T ask me about this again.

I do not want to copy passwords, more than anything, should I create a new profile. I do not want to deal with replacing or losing the file. When I attempted to load two other profiles over the last two days, both times FF crashed. I gave up.

I am NOW in Safe Mode and without errors, and it's hard to know which app is causing the problem.

Is there a new addon that will back up Firefox these days?

Suggestions? Seriously, FF seems to be a whole lot more trouble these days than she is worth.

I am trying to update the primary email associated with my Firefox account. My primary email is listed as <primary@domain.name>, for example. My secondary email is not assigned. When I try to add <preferred.email@domain.name> to my secondary email, I get the message: "Secondary email must be different than your account email"

I do not see this "account email" listed anywhere. Where do I find it, and how can I change it?

I've used Firefox as my default browser for years. I'm now on a Win10 laptop I've been using for over a year. I have not knowingly made any recent changes to FF. I'm on FF version 88.0.1 (64 bit).

Suddenly, yesterday, I found that I was blocked from viewing many YT videos and comments. YT says I am in restricted mode. It is not due to a setting on my YT/Google account, because I'm not logged in.

Exact YT messages: "Video unavailable--This video is restricted. Please check the Google Workspace administrator and/or the network administrator restrictions." And "Restricted Mode has hidden comments for this video."

However, I have no problem viewing them in Chrome. So logically it's a FF problem.

Also, I discovered that other sites are affected. For example, if I run a "domain lookup" on the ICANN website, I get less detailed results than if I run the search on Chrome! https://lookup.icann.org/

Switching from Strict to Standard Tracking Protection didn't help. Then I did a FF refresh but that also didn't help.

Suggestions? Be aware I'm not a coder or any kind of super techhie.

since yesterday the Evenote Web Clipper stopped working. When reinstalling the web clipper I get the regular screen:

"Welcome to Evernote Web Clipper!" where you have to confirm to enable web clipper. When clicking on "Allow" nothing happens. At the same time occasionally I got the message the Firefox was not directed to Evernote in teh right way.

What have I tried thus far - without positive outcome: - disabling and then enabling the web clipper in Firefox preferences - deleting and re-installing the web clipper - deleting Firefox, re-install Firefox and then re-install the web clipper

The web clipper is functioning fine under Safari.

May it be that the change of privacy policy by Evernote (dus May 15) has something to do with it ?

FF tabs are constantly crashing despite restarts, updates, add-on removals, etc. Looking for any help or guidance to resolve.

When selecting PayPal as a pay option & a new window opens up, it will not connect to my PayPal account unless I first go directly to PayPal & log in directly. I am using the latest FireFox but it has been doing this for a long time so I don't think the version is the issue. I believe it is a setting in either PayPal or FireFox. PayPal reviewed my account and noted that there is no issue with it. That leaves a FireFox setting. Any ideas?

After updating Firefox to 88.0.1, Google Maps no longer allows 3d / globe view. I checked hardware acceleration on / off, with no effect. Also other map services (e.g., windy.com, outdooractive.com) no longer work correctly. Any ideas?

My firefox default page suddenly got scrambled. Top sites got completely reset and my highlights were changed to seemingly random pages. I checked my history for the pages listed in highlights and they were pages I had visited on the 25th of January, which is not recent. They also seemed to not update when I visit new sites which it usually does. I then noticed the history does not have any entries newer than 25th of January. And going to new pages does not get registered in the history.

I restarted in troubleshooting mode and history started to register again, but now it has deleted everything in my history. Logged in accounts and passwords seem to be unaffected. Same for bookmarks.

What happened? How can I fix this? Can I regain my lost history?

I tried an idea I read where renamed places.sqlite to places.sqlite.old and places.sqlite.corrupt to places.sqlite.corrupt which restored the situation to the first situation, where the history is frozen at 25th of January and does not update.

After my Browser automatically updated to 88.0.1 (i unfortunately ignored the popup to update Firefox for a while) i started it and my Login data was gone. Extensions, Bookmarks, anything other than Lockwise Data was still there.

I made an account (this one) as i previously did not have one in hopes of somehow fixing that; then after searching for solutions i checked for an "old data" file (does not exist) and checked about:profiles (i have a second profile named "default" that has absolutely zero saved data on anything, i dont know where it came from or wheter it was ever used). The profile that i use ("default-release") was active and that was that.

Then i checked Appdata/Roaming/.../theprofile (from the profile page) and was relieved to find that both "logins.jason" and "logins-backup.json" contained my Login data: The Username and Password (encrypted), formSubmitURL, giud, enctype, etc. I made a completly seperate backup in case something i do ends up deleting those. Since the passwords are encrypted i cannot add them one by one to Lockwise.

I dont know why they dont appear when i check my Login data or try to use the data on any Website. Can i manually "import" the file into Firefox so that it automatically decyrpts the passwords?

In the latest version (99.0 for 64-bit Windows), the "Send Page to Device" and "Send Tab to Device" commands in the right-click menus are gone. They were available up to at least 88.0.1. Where did they go?

I got a new computer and tried to sign into Firefox. I was able to do so but, when I go to see my passwords Firefox wants a "Primary Password". I was able to sign into Firefox and sync to get my bookmarks but, I cannot get my logins and passwords. Firefox keeps asking for "Primary Password", nothing works. My account email is on the 3 line Firefox start menu. Any help appreciated.

Hey! For a very long time, the ability to pay by card has ceased to work in the browser. After entering the card information, the browser redirects to a page with a 3DSecure form which is not automatically submitted. That is, a blank page with a hidden form opens (as it should be) and then nothing happens. The body of the page contains the JS code: document.postform.submit();

And it doesn't work, so the payment doesn't go through. This serious problem has not been resolved for a long time. Updates are installed last, add-ons are not used. Please help with the solution!

On Russian: Привет! Уже очень давно в браузере перестала работать возможность оплаты картой. После ввода информации о карте, браузер пересылает на страницу с формой 3dsecure которая не отправляется автоматически. То есть открывается пустая страница со скрытой формой (как и должно быть) и далее ничего не происходит. В теле страницы указан ЙС код: document.postform.submit();

И он не срабатывает, соответственно платёж не проходит. Это серьёзная проблема давно не может быть решена. Обновления установлены последние, дополнения не используются. Прошу помочь в решении!

Hi : when I turn on sync,after signing in,the browser pups up a tip says "This computer has been disconnected".But in my iphone,I signed in and truned on sync.

I wonder if in the new release of Mozilla Firefox there is an Extension that places an "'Extension Button"' in the Toolbar that works as an Extensions Menu including a table of all Extensions, where someone can very easily pin or unpin Extension icons from the toolbar or can handle the Extensions properties.

I download Endnote .ris reference files every day, and have done for decades. Endnote supplies a parsing tool that imports the data into the database. But it has just stopped working. In the import dialog box, the message that comes up on downloading a ris file is: "what should Firefox do with this file?

  Open with Notebook (default)"

Well down the dropdown option list I can choose to open with Endnote, so I clicked on "Do this automatically for files .." then chose the Endnote option. Which works, but it doesn't stick. If I go to the Options page>Applications>ris, nothing comes up. If I choose >Endnote, the suggested option is to open every Text file with Endnote - not a good idea.

Has something gone wrong with Firefox or with Endnote settings? Thank you

I have 2 issues that seem related, and difficult to explain. I'll do my best. 1) Left clicking on (typically News) links (to open in a new tab) opens the new tab and shows the url in the address bar, but the new link isn't opened. I have to click on the (new tab) address bar and select "visit" for the page to load (or carefully goto the end of the url in the address bar and hit Enter). 2) Lots of Websites want to collect your email address immediately when their webpage opens. An easy one to see this is Walmart.com. Firefox jumps to the bottom of the webpage. Chrome behaves better and opens a popup at the bottom of the screen (still at the top of the webpage).

I discovered these while running Firefox in safe mode to see which, if any, of my add-ons might be the cause. I finally discovered my add-ons are not the cause. In Chrome these issues just don't manifest. Naturally I'm a Firefox fan, I'm uptodate and eager to learn if these are known issues. TIA Steve

The search engines I've added do not appear in the list after clicking the green + sign in the search box and they do not appear in the list in the options either. I used the "add more search engines" found in the bottom of the search engines list to find the missing engines and add them again, but when I find the engine I want to add there is only the "remove" button. So this tells me the missing engines in the list are still there but not accessible. I tried removing the added search engine and then adding it again but this did not make them appear in the search engine list. Everything was working fine until getting the last update before Firefox 89. Is there a way to fix this???

I have 2 problems which have just started occuring when I try to access websites, 400 Bad Request messages and pop up window asking for a user name and password for normally open sites.

An example of the Bad Request message occurs when I go to the Guardian webpage https://www.theguardian.com/travel/2012/jul/11/top-10-pembrokeshire-walks which displays normally but when I try to follow one of the links which should take me to National Trust pages I get the 400 Bad Request message. I have used this website before with no problem but this has started occuring on this and other sites over the last week. I also get the message when I try to go to http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/main/ from the bookmark I have used for many years.

The other problem occurs when I type www.nationaltrust.org.uk, I get a pop up window which says Authentication required - Mozilla Firefox http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk is requesting your user name and password. The site says: DSL-3782 Usaer name Password.

Cancelling the pop up causes 401 Unauthorised message If I give it any usename and pass word it comes back the the blank pop up again except when I enter my DSL-3782 router username and passwood which gives routers Internet status page with no errors or messages.

I have tried clearing caches etc. with no effect.

These problems also occur on some other websites and on my laptop.

Has anyone had these problems? What is the cure?
