All downloads fail instantly even after uninstalling, deleting, and purging data on my computer. I've gone through safe mode, disabeling any and all programs related to antivirus and connection (PIA and Malwarebytes) and not a single file will even start to dowload. They fail and end up as corrupted clutter in my Download folder.

PS: The only way I was able to reinstall was via Chrome. Its only a problem on Firefox.

When trying to load the website www.workintexas.com, I receive the following error message:

Secure Connection Failed

An error occurred during a connection to www.workintexas.com. Cannot communicate securely with peer: no common encryption algorithm(s). Error code: SSL_ERROR_NO_CYPHER_OVERLAP

This appears to be affecting Firefox on several of my devices: Ubuntu/Linux, maOS, and Android. The error does not appear to be effecting Lynx on Ubuntu, Safari on macOS or Chrome on Android.

I've tried the following troubleshooting steps on Firefox 69.0.2 running on Ubuntu to try to resolve this:

  • Updated software on Ubuntu
  • Restarting computer
  • Cleared History/Cookies/Cache
  • Check to make sure TLS and SSL setting were set to default
  • Checked Network setting in Firefox
  • Tried disabling IPv6
  • Tried accessing with Firefox in Safe Mode

I had previously accessed this website less than two days ago on this same browser.

My instinct says that there's probably something misconfigured on the server - probably with the security certificate - but then why did it work in Lynx, Safari, and Chrome?

Anybody have any ideas what's up?

When I visit Google Maps I get a general view of where I am at the city level. However, for quite some time, clicking on the locator dot gives the message "Google Maps does not have permission to use your location."

If I check my location settings using hamburger > preferences > Privacy & Security > Permissions > Location, I see a handful of websites in a dropdown list (none of them are Google Maps), with no way of adding others. The box for "Block new requests . . ." is NOT checked.

I don't see any other location-blocking settings.

Some websites will prompt me to allow location access; allowing it never adds the site to my whitelist. Sometimes I just keep getting prompted to allow access in a loop.

I am using Firefox Quantum 69.0.2 on OSX.

Extension-wise, I am using DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials, but disabling it does not fix the problem.

Since the most recent Firefox update has anyone else found it is not possible to log into various websites / pages requiring personal credentials (ie username, email, password)? There are at least 3 or 4 sites that I have been able to log into for many years, that no longer allow me to access. I have checked and double checked the Privacy & Security tab in Options and none of the Exceptions or Manage Data entries have changed. When I phone the various companies the common answer is do not use Firefox, rather use Microsoft Edge, which works! Please help restore Firefox functionality so that it works!

Recently Search Suggestions stopped working, I now have to type in full URLs where previously after a few letters I'd usually be directed to the correct URL, especially with sites I visit often. I checked in Preferences and everything is turned on as it should be. I tried turning Search Suggestions off and then turning them back on but that did not help. I have not tried anything further since I'm a bit concerned I might make things worse.

Any help/suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

Navigating to an HTTPS site (ex. https://consul.service.consul) works fine with my imported sub-ca cert as it includes consul.service.consul as a SAN. If I change the port the site is served from to something non-standard however, the site comes back as not trusted (ex. https://consul.service.consul:8501). Is this expected behavior to have to include port numbers in a SAN listing for certificates, or is this a bug potentially?
