With the new Firefox 43.0 update it asked me if I wanted to try using the suggestions option in the location bar. I have tried it and do not like this function. Whenever I type in addresses it no longer auto-compeltes because instead it says 'visit (website)', but only if it detects something it can guess like Facebook. Otherwise, it assume I'm searching something and I have to skip over it to go to the website I have saved in my history.

How do I turn this function off?

Now, i know there are other threads on this subject, but none appear to provide a fix. I am using Firefox 43.0.4 and geolocation is not working.

I have gone through all settings, and location is enabled, but Firefox can never actually find my location.

Any suggestions other than uninstall - reinstall?

Thanks.

How do I make Firefox quit reloading web pages multiple times (while I'm reading a page), so the back button will go back to previous page

The back button has not been working properly for maybe a month. I've finally addressed the problem but have no solution. Updated to Firefox 43.0, disabled all my add-ons plus reverted to default header, then also ran the refresh which deleted my add-ons. This problem happens on multiple web sites. I'll click on Rawstory.com (as an example), then click on an article and start reading it. While the page doesn't appear to reload as I read, I have noticed that the little Rawstory icon in the tab winks (as if reloading the page). This happens over and over again. Now I know to pull down the window under the back arrow to see what happened. The last page that I read ended up showing up 9 times under the back arrow, even though all I'd done was click on it once and read the article. I've wondered if my clicking on the scroll bar to read down the article is somehow causing this problem (ditto for using my fingers on the track pad). Thanks for your help.

"This Connection is Untrusted"

"Technical Details: blabla.org uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is not trusted because it was signed using a signature algorithm that was disabled because that algorithm is not secure. (Error code: sec_error_cert_signature_algorithm_disabled)"

Whatever I do, I can't access this site. I go on it almost every day, so I know it's safe. At first, the "Add Exception" button wasn't even there at all, but after 2 hours of digging through the support forums I managed to get it to appear by Refreshing Firefox. But it doesn't work. So, I bring up the dialogue box, click "Get Certificate" and "Confirm Security Exception". But it doesn't let me go through to the site even with the exception stored. I even checked that the exception is stored under Options > Advanced > Certificates > View Certificates > Servers, and it's there!! So why is it, when I have the security exception permanently stored, that I'm still not allowed through?

I use websites which give 'notification' or 'alerts' when now content is posted. Since updating I don't get the 'notifications' and according to one website they are disabled. They usually take the form of a pop up box and an alert sound.

I can't find anything in settings to re-enable, can anyone tell me if it's possible and if so where to change the settings please.

My understanding of how web pages work is that the web page name (URL) is translated to an IP address. So, can I find out what that address is for a web page which I have open? The reason for my interest is that when I type www.streamhunter.eu my Firefox browser comes back with Batmanstream.com or something like that. I want to know if this is the real streamhunter or a pirated web page. So, what IP address is Batmanstream using? I don't know. Oh, I am using Ubuntu 15.10 and Firefox 43.04.

Using the F12 console, I saw that my request to watch a show was being rejected because "do not track" was enabled. I knew this wasn't right, so I checked FF options, and sure enough, it was not checked. I then used configuration mania to look at the Security/Privacy section, and "Enable Tracking Protection" showed being checked there. I unchecked it and hit Ctrl F5 in the CWTV window and BAZAAM! I have a problem with the menu drop down. When I click on it, it is cover with black color, sometimes the whole drop down, sometime with pixelated borders. When the cursor moved to the black area, it disappears and the text show up. It happened some times ago but only on occasion. Started yesterday, I noticed that the black color occurs every time I click a menu drop down.

I tried the solutions from the following question, but it did not work.

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1084611

It only happens when I use Mozilla, no issue with any other browsers. I have a Dell Inspiron 13 - 7000 series.

I am developing a web application (Wildfly, JS, html, css & co.). I am checking that in both Chrome and Firefox, but in Firefox every time i want to refresh a page to see changes, i must clean the cache, while in Chrome i just press F5. I installed Firefox Developer Edition because of that, but the problem is also there.

Even Ctrl+Shift+R doesn't solve the problem (or not always).

I added: https://addons.mozilla.org/it/firefox/addon/empty-cache-button/ and it works great. But still, why doesn't work just F5 as it happens in Chrome? Is there an option "automatically clean cache"? Or some "Developement mode" that allows to refresh everything silently?

The biggest disappointment was when i saw that this happens also in "Firefox Developer Edition" Maybe i am doing something wrong or the option is present?

I remember some problems like that in the past, but now they happens almost on always change.

The FireFox 64 bit version 43.0.3 is not working with ANY Flash videos or streaming audio. This is a likely a serious broken code bug with the sandbox that cripples the 64 bit version for all practical purposes--it makes it unusable for anything that requires Flash. I have already submitted several crash reports when prompted.

I am running Win7 64bit, SP1 all up to date. I uninstalled and deleted the folders for my 32 bit completely, then performed a fresh install and created a new profile from scratch to troubleshoot this. No script blocking or any other plugins that would block connections or sites were installed, and any remnant folders from FF 32bit were deleted.

This is the consistent error generated:

TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference. at flash.external::ExternalInterface$/_callIn() at Function/<anonymous>()

Troubleshooting Steps: In access:config type "plugins" (no quotes)

dom.ipc.plugins.sandbox-level.default - for all plugins (default is 1 (for x64 FF), max 3, disabled - 0 (default for 32-bit FF))

dom.ipc.plugins.sandbox-level.flash - only for flash (default is 2 (for x64 FF), max 3, disabled - 0 (default for 32-bit FF))

Set both sandboxes to 1, and plays, but crashes when the stream is paused or stopped. Changed the plugin sandbox default to 0, the flash set to 0 (disabled) Went through all possible sandbox level combinations (closing and reopening browser to reset after each change) with no effect.

Does not work with the Primetime CDM plugin Active or disabled and no other Flash installed. When installed, current Shockwave Flash plugin (version 20.x.x), set to Always, or Never Activate fails. Set Shockwave to ask every time and manually approving the request works initially, then generates the error and crashes during playback. Error message continues to pop up after closing.

Test sites/files: www.slacker.com/station/song-of-the-year YouTube: Any video. Using plugin YouTube Flash-HTML5 set to HTML5 --works without issues. The Flash setting crashes or does not play at all.

For the benefit of others aTemporary Workaround: If you have Internet Explorer 11 installed: Use the "Open in IE" extension with the current Adobe Flash ActiveX plugin--Verify that ActiveX filtering in IE is turned off. Everything plays normally. No crashes during playback or after closing a file.

I cannot guarantee it will work if you also install script/ad blockers or things like Disconnect. But that leaves you open to intrusive ads, hijacking, and injected malware.

After being fairly reliable up until version 41, I now regret permanently deleting my FireFox 32bit, but I did archive my old profile in case I want to reinstall the Win32 version clean again. FEBE is my friend. This 64 bit version is not yet ready for primetime. The FireFox team needs to address as their highest priority if they want to actually transition to HTML5 video/audio playback before most of the rest of the world has actually done it.

Firefox has worked fine for years. A few days ago Firefox wouldn't start from its Desktop icon or by directly double clicking its .exe file. There is a very brief response lasting about 0.3 second then nothing. If I start it by right clicking the icon and starting it as Administrator and then clicking on the UAC notice to clear it, it runs perfectly. I have temporarily set it to start in Administrator mode but clearing the UAC notice is irritating. Furthermore, it does worry me what else may be wrong with my PC/Firefox.

Hi guys:

I'm having some issues for the last few days when trying to send files via Whatsapp web with Firefox 43.0.3. This used to work flawlessly until a couple of days ago. Whenever I try to send a photo or a video, and I click on that option, nothing happens.

I have tried to do the same with Chrome and it seems to be working just fine, as a popup menu shows up and I can select a file to be sent.

Could someone else check if they have the same issue with Firefox?

Thanks in advance.
