I have no idea how to even find out if my Active X (whatever that is) is enabled, much less enable it if it isn't. According to the info I'm reading, I have Windows XP with Firefox version 3.5.9

It's been about a week since I last manage to download from Mediafire. When I click on a Mediafire link, the download link does not show although the page has finish loading. Refreshing the page repeatedly does not help and I've tried the solution to delete all cookies as stated on a similar thread (http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/forum/1/673873) but it doesn't work either. After deleting all the cookies, clicking on the Myfiles link brings me to Mediafire's main webpage instead. Are there any ways to solve this? =( Please help!

Where is the location of the browser's temporary files? widows 7, windows7 platform. I am ok with xp, but couldn't locate on w7 with the file browser.

For the past couple of days Firefox always redirects to a blank page when I try to visit any page on www.kongregate.com. When I use IE tab on the blank page it comes up with the url "wyciwyg://#/www.kongregate.com" where # is a number that changes occasionally. I've tried deleting my Firefox cache and uninstalling/reinstalling Firefox with no success. Kongregate.com is the only site I know this to happen on and this is the first time I've seen it do this before. It was fine two days ago and I haven't installed a new add on in months.

I have two profiles for firefox. But sometimes Firefox starts with the first active, sometimes with the second. The question is: How can I force firefox to use the profile "default" as the default profile on startup when there is no other instance running? When I want to use a second profile in parallel I use the command "firefox -P --no-profile" to start the profile selector.

I have a friend with an old computer on dial up. He only has Win 98, first edition, but wants firefox. I'd like to burn it on a CD for him, along with some extensions, but first I have to find the download. Would somebody please give me a pointer?

Feels like a cache is being filled somewhere -- movie starts out fine, but ~5 minutes in, video pauses for half a second every three-four seconds -- irritating. Download speeds measure at 2.8±1 MB/s; system memory 1.04 GB, available 482 MB, system cache 632 MB. Ideas?

I run a Java Web Start app. I need to debug with the Java Console. After upgrading my system, the Java Console no longer comes up with my app, even though "Show Console" is still set in the Java Control Panel.

How do I stop Firefox from remembering my user names? I know about how to turn off the password remembering but that doesn't stop it from remembering my user names. The only way i know of to stop it is to clear my history. I don't want to keep doing that every time I close firefox.

I've tried installing flash player a dozen times, with both the instructions on the adobe page and the mozilla page. I'm running Fedora Core 11 with Mozilla 3.5.9. I've gotten "libflashplayer.so" and copied it to every "mozilla/plugins" directory on the drive. It does not work and is not listed when I bring up "tools/add-ons." One instruction said to copy "flashplayer.xpt" to the "mozilla/commponents" directory, but the download included no such file and I have no such directory. (Probably pertains to an older version.) I've tried downloading it with the .tar, .gzip, and yum; all with the same result. It doesn't work online and doesn't show up in my plug-ins.

When I ttry to get my email through Thunderbird, it is now asking me for my password, but I have forgotten it, it has been so long since I have been asked for it. I am running Firefox 50.1.0. Your educated guess about my Firefox version says 3.5.9, which means you can't read it either.

Flickr and many sites say something like "You seem to be using an unsupported browser. To get the most out of Flickr please upgrade to the latest version of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Internet Explorer." I tried everything online to make Norton firewall let in friendly sites to no avail. I know my OS is old, so is my CPU, and memory's small.

firefox "services.addons.mozilla.org uses invalid security certificate the certificate is valid to *.google.com, google.com." I cant download any plugin. I have this problem for months and the error code is "ssl_error_bad_cert_domain"

I used to have Internet Explorer as my default browser and when I went to Firefox it asked me if I wanted Firefox as my default browser and I always sad no. I must haves screwed that up somehow and I want to go back to Explorer as default.
