Hello, I am using Firefox 32.0.3. There used to be a drop down search engine menu on Firefox. Has it been removed from the latest version or is there some settings adjustment I can make to get it back? Thanks for any feedback.

I'm attempting to use the latest firefox (v32) on Debian/testing/64bit using the 64bit version of FF.. This machine is a laptop and is only used with wifi. The wifi that is generally used is either a Starbucks or McDonalds which requires a click on a webpage before the connection is enabled.. When I start FF to be able to click this checkbox, it does not start. a look at the ps -xua shows firefox as a defunct/zombie process.. The way I've been working around this, is to use Google Chrome to pull up the webpage, click the box, then almost immediately the FF instance I tried to start comes up.. If I clicked the FF icon more than once I get more than one FF window.. It appears FF needs an open pipe to the internet before it will start. I MUCH prefer FF over Chrome, but if I'm going to have to use Chrome to "kick-start" FF, I might as well remove FF and just use Chrome.. Any ideas??

I used to be able to click on a Word document link and the document would open - now when I click on the link, I receive an error message when Word opens up saying:

Word experienced an error trying to open the file. Try these suggestions:

• Check for file permissions for the document or drive.
• Make sure there is sufficient free memory and disk space.
• Open the file with the Text Recovery converter.

Nothing has changed in regard to web page where I am looking at the files from or on my computer, except that the version of Firefox has updated. I am now using FF version 32.

The files will open with IE, but not Firefox. I loathe the idea of having to use IE.

I have tried the different choices under Tools -> Options -> Applications for Word documents, and none made a difference.

I have two plugins for Microsoft Office 2010 and they are both set to 'Always Activate'.

Please help!

Firefox version 32.03 Since the latest update I have noticed the browser start up time has increased and if I open one or two tabs the internet get disconnect for few seconds.

There is not any change on computer that is why I think it is strange. I have checked Firefox Health Report which I do not know is good or bad. Therefore please advice.

As I could not attach the screen shot of Health report I will attach in next post after this one for reference.

Just in the last week or so, this has been happening. I had several themes chosen to select from, all of them are no longer listed in the appearance drop down list with the exception of the default theme. Yesterday I made sure that I'm set to allow Add-ons. It was the same story this morning, the appearance was back to default and my themes had vanished. If I stay connected to the internet my themes remain as they are. I have no problems with previewing themes they just won't stay put when I turn off my computer.This is the only problem I've encountered since I've been using Firefox.

I purchased this new Dell Tower PC in April, 2014 runs on Windows 7 and installed Internet Explorer right away, it never failed to start crashing after every use. Someone suggested I install Mozilla Firefox because it is much faster and reliable, so I did, ! have been running it now since April. Around August on a daily basis, it just stops working, with a pop up box saying it has stopped working and must shut down ! This is getting to be a real nightmare !

When using Gmail, I have an email with PDF attachments. For each PDF attachment, there are 3 options: Use the built-in reader, download, or copy to Google Drive. When I select download, the popup says "You have chosen to open:..." and then offers two selections: "Open with" and "Save File". Previously, the "Open with" option would remember that I wanted to use Reader with PDF file. It will no longer does that. I have to browse and find Reader each time, even though I've clicked "Do this automatically". Each time I do browse to Reader, it will use it. It simply won't remember to use Reader the next time. Under Options-Application, it does say that for PDF files, it should "Use Adobe Reader". I have reinstalled Firefox, along with making sure the profile folders in my application data were deleted, so this is a clean version.

I am unable to open some posts cause of 'waiting for stats.g.doubleclick.net' doing who the hell knows what on the website. I mean I am able to open posts once then no way to open them secong time, Firefox just seems to be continuously trying to load something from stats.g.doubleclick.net... I know it's connected with Google Analytics script but have no idea how to fix it...

I have checked on 2 different PC's at home with latest Firefox installed on both... same issue.

To replicate the issue, go to the website in question, scroll down a bit to find 'From the Blog' widget on the sidebar, try to switch around between those few posts.

Any help much appreciated since I'm worried that many users of Firefox might have that problem... and since I made the website and am working for that company... would really love to fins a solution.

Nothing's right. I can't visit my regular spots without a popup window asking me if I approve HTML scripting. Usual hangouts like AOL don't recognize my computer, and in my mind, that's a seriously egregiously presumptuously pervasive invasion for Mozilla to make in an update, What has it done and how the hell do I undo it?

I sometimes want to look at how-to videos. Some play and some do not in Firefox. When a message does come up on the screen it says someting like 'sorry, but the video will not play...do you wish to download the plugin?'. Because I am very catious about what I download, I am not confident about downloading a plugin. Does anyone know what I need for Firefox to play all website videos? +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ I am adding this to my original question: I see that quick-time is an available plugin...Is this soething that will work? ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Thank you

I have been using Firefox Sync since it was an extension called Weave and it has worked perfectly until now.

I was using Firefox Aurora on Ubuntu 14.04 but I had to uninstall Ubuntu completely from my computer and install Windows 7. The point is that on Windows I tried with Firefox Aurora (34) and Release (32) to recover my bookmarks and none of them is syncing. Everything looks to work fine, even I can see a message saying "Firefox will begin syncing momentarily" after logging in with my account but that never happens. It says it's correctly synced but I never get the bookmarks/history from my old Ubuntu.

I have more devices connected to my account but only can access one them right now, it is my Android phone where I have Firefox Beta (33). There everything works fine, I have my bookmarks as they were in my Ubuntu.

Any idea what's going on? Let me know if you need any other information.

After installing latest Firefox version 'Restore Previous Session' is still greyed out, how do I get that working? I do not understand the solution on this site. I am a basic user and never used anything but windows.

How do I avoid automatic installation of Thunderbird & Firefox updated versions? Thunderbird installed the latest version when I clicked 'About Thunderbird' to check the latest version. I was not given a choice, it just started installing.

  I don't know how long it has been happening, but my adobe flash, and any flash programs will crash on right click.  I've tried it with Add-Ons disabled and enabled, and am still having the same problem.  I've tried uninstalling Flash and I've reset Firefox.  I've attempted to turn off protected mode and disable hardware accelleration through the mms.cfg found in C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash and I still cannot.  Any help would be great in trying to identify why this is happening.

A week or two ago, Yahoo started coming up as my home page. No matter how many times I change it back to Bing, every time I bring up Firefox, there is Yahoo as the home page. Changing it back to Bing and clicking ok is not working. I'm getting a little frustrated with this. How do I get rid of Yahoo coming up as my home page when I did not even ask for it?

Since upgrading to FF32 my offline cache stops working. I keep getting the error "Firefox is currently in offline mode and can't browse the Web."

In version 31 it works fine.

If I disable the addons the problem still remains. If I create and test it on a new profile the offline caches works fine.

I tried deleting the Cache, cache2 and OfflineCache directories but that did not fix the problem.

What do I need to do to reset the cache and make it function?

I'm accustomed to seeing a "-" in the upper right corner of the page....but there's not a "-" there...or anywhere. So how do I minimize a webpage ?

Gotta be a simple trick, but I can't figure it out.

Hi. Today I was having trouble with Firefox being sluggish and crashing/freezing every time I played a Facebook game. It kept telling me to download the updated flash which I have done about 6 times today. It still will not recognize I have it. I looked in my control panel under Flash and I see the following: Active X version 15.0.0.0.152 NPAPI plug in version 15.0.0.152. PPAPI plug in version not installed. (I looked that up and it seems that is not for my Windows XP. The flash player I installed was 15X32_mssd_aaa_aih(i).exe. That is the manual I was asked to download on support.mozilla.org...then it gave me a specific plug in. Even though I knew I had it, I did attempt to download the plugin. It gets to 66% download complete then error application in use occurs (because I already have it) and it automatically opens Window IE to retry. I know for a fact I have the most updated version. For some reason Firefox just will not recognize it. I've restarted my computer. Earlier I reset Firefox and regave permissions on my plug ins. I have honestly done ever single fix I can do. Help please. I am going to lose my religion if this aggravates me any further! Thanks y'all. Oh and as you can see down there, it is saying I have Adobe Shockwave for Director Netscape plug-in, version 12.0.5.146 which is not true. My control panel, Flash section disagrees and says I have 15.0.0.152.

When I print eBay labels through Firefox, a .dll file is downloaded. This used to open automatically in Adobe Reader, but now it opens as a text document in TextEdit, so I have to manually open Adobe Reader, change options to show "all files", and then locate the .dll file and open it.

When I try to change the default application in Firefox preferences, I can't find anything with the content type "dll".

Is there a way to have Firefox automatically open .dll files with Adobe Reader?

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!

So I went to take a look at task manager and noticed there was 2 firefox.exe processes

one being the usual 300k memory usage and another being around 4,000-8,000. I right clicked it and went to where this process was located and it directed me to the normal firefox folder with nothing out of the ordinary. I ended the process without a problem and it stayed away.It didn't come back or nothing. I checked my registry and nothing was out of the ordinary too.I scanned my computer with avast and malewarebytes and they both didn't detect anything.Checked my established connections as well and nothing suspicious. Im questioning..what was this?Its making me very anxious.
