IN FF28 it was possible to detach the refresh button from the address bar, but now the whole address bar is just one element. I am really used to have the button on the left side and not on the right side of the screen. I would love to have the opportunity back again to separate them!

I know that firefox once put the tabs on top, but I had that fixed with setting in "about:config" the value for "browser.tabs.onTop" to "false". Now, after upgrading Firefox to v.29 this entry is still set to the false value, however, I can't get the tabs below the adressbar (which is super annoying). Any ideas how to resolve this?

Sorry guys, i am disgusted with this upgrade. 29 does not seem like a good ui update at all. The menu bar looks really bad and so does the tab. Furthermore this does not solve my other tab issue i have either in another question i have asked.

How can i revert back to my last version with all my tabs/windows/history restored? I will do a system restore if i have to and then cancel all automatic updates. I honestly dont care if it gives me a bigger security risk.

The problem I have with Firefox is that when I log in to one of my email services (I use two different ones). In the past when I opened the log-in page my login and password (saved in FF) were already filled in so I just had to click "log in" button - it still is that way on the other email service. I had it set up this way for years, since many FF versions back (I have automatic updates on in FF so it is always up to date). Recently I was changing my passwords and I got confused when updating saved password so I decided to delete saved passwords for one of the email services and just logged in typing the password in manually and clicked 'save password' when FF password manager asked me. From that point on when I open the log in page from my bookmarks, the details are not there anymore, so I have to click on 'username' field to get the autocomplete list, choose my login name (there is only one) and then the password gets filled in and I can log in, so it's not the issue of password not being saved or filled in for my login but the fact that these details are not filled in from the point I open the login page from bookmarks, like it used to be and like it still is with the other service (for which I didn't delete and re-save password).. Now this might not be a big deal you might think but it is really annoying that I have to do extra step just to log in to my email especially that I log in to it frequently during the day and that I like things to work the way they are supposed to. I have tried removing cookies for that website, deleting and re-saving the bookmark (with fields already filled with details), deleting all saved password for that website and saving it again and nothing seemed to help. I will appreciate any help if anyone has the solution. Please do not suggest alternatives like using add-ons or using email client etc.

Not sure links are allowed but this is the link to the screenshot showing and describing the problem:

For instance, before the upgrade, I used to log into jud.ct.gov. The hyperlinks to various publications and websites internal to jud.ct.gov used to appear in red so that I could easily see and select the one I wanted. Now they appear in white and I cannot see them unless I hover the mouse over the item. At that point it turns red so I can see which link to click.

There were two upgrades very close together. I upgraded and now have 29.0. No matter whether I'm going to an address, typing into a box, or waiting for a website to load, the Mac "beach ball" will spin for a few seconds before loading. I use the default theme. I have minimal - (Xmarks and Trend micro), which weren't a problem before. Is there something I can do besides disabling the add-ons?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I leave a large number of tabs open, about 50, and firefox has yet to crash while I'm actively using it since the update but I have consistently returned from work or sleep to find a the crash reporter open. I wish I could troubleshoot precisely what it was via the text in the reporter, but I don't know what I'm looking for in the text provided by it. This has happened consistently for the past several weeks now.

I've updated my plugins, addons, drivers, windows, firefox. Have yet to run memtest, but I'm hoping the problem is an easy resolution besides that.

I appreciate all the help.

Prior to upgrading to Firefox 29, I was able to restore closed browser tabs by using the Ctrl+Shift+T combination. Since upgrading, however, I seem to be unable to do so. Even right-clicking on a tab and selecting "Undo Close Tab" fails to work.

Is this a bug? Have you changed the way this is accomplished? Or has that functionality been removed?

I'm running Windows 8.1 and was using Firefox seamlessly. Since the upgrade to Firefox 29, it keeps experiencing " Firefox is already running" errors. I then have to end it in task manager to launch it. I've deleted the parent.lock several times with no luck. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox several times with no luck. I'm using Windows firewall and Avast Antivirus. I even uninstalled Avast temporarily, in case it was causing problems, no change. I have Firefox on my daughter computer and it's been upgraded to Firefox 29 as well. Her computer is running Windows 7 and experiencing no problems. Please help, I've resorted to using IE11. I don't like chrome, opera, etc and want to return to Firefox.

now they have removed and i have been relegated to use some stupid add on to replace the add on bar

it seems like FF is trying to emulate Chrome which also does not have an add on bar

so, is there anyway to display items at the bottom anymore, what gives?

Please, please revert this retro step in your next version. There's nothing that I'd call an improvement. And a leaky bandaid in the form of an addon is waste of good intentions.

The layout change implemented in FF 29 has made using FF harder and continually frustrating. Contrary to the spin ("limiting the number of controls in the primary interface makes those that are there much quicker to find"), moving buttons from where I automatically look for them and hiding them elsewhere does not make them much quicker to find. I have been able to downgrade to FF 28 and turn off upgrades on my machine at home, but at work, the IT department has implemented some procedure that automatically upgraded me to FF 29 and prevents me from downgrading. I don't know if I should start using a different browser.

I have added the classic theme restorer (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/classicthemerestorer/) and the status-4-evar (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/status-4-evar/versions/) add ons, but there are still two issues that I cannot fix:

1. I cannot get the back & forward buttons to show up as they used to on the far left. The back button seems to be 'stuck' to the address field. On the classic theme restorer page, it says: "Back-forward, reload and stop buttons. Browsers default buttons got merged with urlbar and cannot be moved to different toolbar positions or to different toolbars. CTB recreates these buttons." So I'm guessing that it is supposed to be possible to do this, but I can't see how.

2. There is a weird-looking bar of some sort at the bottom, which I assume is supposed to be the status bar. However, there is a horizontal line though the middle of it for no reason, and if I mouse over a hyperlink the url does not show up. In fact, nothing ever seems to show up in the bar, it just takes up screen space, and there doesn't seem to be any way to find out the url for a link without clicking on it, seeing where I land and then going back.

Does anyone know how to resolve these issues?

I often copy and paste items into website forums with no problem. However, since I upgraded to 29.0.1 I can no longer do that and it's so frustrating. I have tried doing the extra steps of clicking on your copy and paste items but that doesn't help. I even tried uploading the AllowClipboard Helper but that didn't work either. I never needed that add-on in the past.

This is ridiculous.

How do I revert back to version 28? It worked fine but you just had to go ahead and "fix" it and I hate the new version. I was able to download the Classic Theme Restorer which helped a lot but some things I could not make like the version 28.
