I am having issues finding a work around to intall flash on my work laptop.
I did some searching and was able to find the work around below. However, there was no plugins folder and when I tried to create one, I was denied creating a new folder. So, I tried find another work around and some said I can go into Run: %APPDATA% and it will bring me to Firefiox extension, plugins, etc. There was no plugin folder, so I created one and saved it into the plugin folder. It looked like it too, but then when I went to restart Firefox, it kept crashing and running slow. I made sure that I was using the correct DLL. Is there another work around?
If you are a Firefox user and want to use Flash but do not have administrative privileges do the following:
Download the latest version of the Firefox Flash plugin from the adobe website. Your best option is to right-click the download link and select Save As. Extract the contents of the downloaded file to a folder on the local system. You may need to change the file extension to zip if you have only access to the standard Windows unzipper. Move the two files NPSWF32.dll (NPSWF64.dll for 64 bit) and flashplayer.xpt into the Firefox plugin directory e.g.: C:\Program Files\Firefox\plugins. The plugin directory is located in the root directory if you are using a portable version of Firefox, if Firefox is installed is is located in the profile folder. Easiest option to find out where the folder is located is to enter about:support in the address bar. This works for Firefox 3.6 and up. If no Plugins folder exist create the folder and move the two Flash Player files into the folder. Restart Firefox to make this work and visit http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ to check your flash player version number. You can now enjoy Flash based contents. Be aware that the plugin is not auto-updating itself. You need to make sure to keep it up to date manually.

I have spent days trying to get Netflix to work on Firefox, and hate Safari, but it works there.. Spent an hour with applecare looking at my computer, and they said that it must be firefox.. I have installed and unenstalled silverlightplugin, (it doesn't show as a plugin on Firefox plugin list, but it is installed in hard drive) I keep getting the message, "Just one minute more to watch movie, download silverlight plugin, I am on a MacBook pro, and am ready to give up Firefox if this cannot be fixed. I have talked to Microsoft, and they don't support macs except for their download that I am all too familiar with!!

I've always liked Firefox's better privacy options compared to other browsers, but this particular issue kind of renders them useless.
If I go to Tools>Clear Recent History>Everything (with ALL boxes checked) this does not have any effect whatsoever on the list of recently closed tabs & windows.
ie, If I then go to History>Recently Closed Tabs> all the previous sites I have visited are still there, despite having cleared "everything" from history.
Other threads I've seen on this topic, replies often suggest fiddling with settings in about:config or deleting/renaming sessionstore files...
Does anyone know of a more straightforward way to *actually* clear all browsing history?
Having an option to clear everything from the history is pretty useless if the next person using the computer can simply look at the 'recently closed windows' list and immediately see the sites you've been reading..
Things shouldn't be displaying in Arial Black. I did not change settings. Have reset Firefox and didn't work.

Using Yahoo Mail
Firefox 14.0.1Yahoo Edition Yahoo-1.7
When typing a response etc in Yahoo Mail the font size automatically increases after hitting enter and or backspace. font size continues to get bigger each time enter is used. This seems to have started after updating Firefox. On Yahoo mail boards some are saying this does not happen on IE.

I've cleared my history, cookies and cache. I've restarted my computer. I've uninstalled then reinstalled Firefox. I've changed my proxy settings to "No Proxy". Still it shows up with this message for every website. My other browsers work fine, and it's not an internet issure. What can I do now?

I can see that hundreds of other people also have this problem and I can't understand why Mozilla don't fix it.
When I go to print an email or a receipt, whether by printer or by PDF, I *sometimes* get the error, 'An unknown error occurred while printing.'
It is very frustrating as the problem is intermittent. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't... even with the same page being printed. Incidentally, that page can be printed in both Chrome and Internet Explorer without a problem.
I have tried other "solutions" in similar, now closed, threads. However, 'reset' is not working for me. Closing Firefox and reopening doesn't work either. I have the latest version of Firefox: 14.0.1 and have Windows x64. There is enough available space in the cache...
I'm just at my wits end with this.
When do you expect to have a version that will run on the Windows RT platform?

I just bought a new computer that came with Windoze 8. I hate it. Firefox works occasionally.
It is pinned to the taskbar, but I cannot get it to start. I click on it and nothing happens.
When I go to Start and click on Firefox, it does not staty. IE and other programs start, but not Firefox. Is Microsoft blocking it? I am trying to run a business and I have to use Firefox on a Windows machine. Any suggestions?

My wife and I have both upgraded to the new Outlook.com for email (from live.com or hotmail.com) and now I can view the new GUI with no issues (Win7 x64 and FF 14.0.1) but on my my wife's pc (WinXP and FF 14.0.1), she only sees a stripped-down HTML version of the GUI which is very hard to read and work with in general. If I open outlook.com in IE on her pc, everything is fine, except IE is SLOW! We prefer Firefox and want this to work for her in Firefox. What can we do? Anyone else see this problem?
