WILL YOU STOP THAT PATRONISING "HMM, WE'RE HAVING TROUBLE FINDING THAT SITE" MESSAGE NOW

IT IS OBVIOUS THAT IT SHOULD SIMPLY SAY " NO INTERNET CONNECTION" IT IS INFURIATING.

DO IT NOW OR I WILL KILL MYSELF.

If I download a .PDF file (or anything else) Firefox asks where I want to save the file and I can change the name of the file. The file is then downloaded to my selected folder on my PC. BUT a copy of the file, with original name, is also stored in my C: downloads folder. How can I stop that? I know how I can change the default folder but I do not want any default download folder, I want to be asked "Where?", "Name?" and the ONLY copy of download goes to that location.

After running Import and Backup and selecting the date I want, the left column in the Library shows History, Downloads, Tags, and All Bookmarks. Under All Bookmarks, those folders have all the stuff I want in my Firefox browser. Currently my browser shows the folder names, but the folders are empty. How do I get the left column into my browser?

When I google search while logged into my google account the results are missing the favicons.

However when I log out of my google account or go into private mode everything works as expected.

I have noticed 3 new bookmarks I never added for 2 websites I've visited recently show up in my bookmarks bar.

I did a scan with Avast One (free version) and it says no viruses or malware found

Any thoughts on what's adding the 3 bookmarks?

Whenever I open Firefox on Chrome OS, which I installed via the Linux shell terminal, it says in settings that the browser is managed by my organization. However, I don't have a school account signed in or anything.

I found how to backup and transfer my normal bookmarks, however I really need to backup and transfer my bookmark toolbar, specifically on the Mac version. I can only find the PC version instructions and they don't seem to translate between OS's.

I am currently encountering an issue where firefox is giving me the PR_CONNECT_RESET_ERROR despite for no immediately apparent reason. I cannot access any website in Firefox.

Steps taken:

- I've deleted cache/cookies. - Disabled all firewalls and anti-virus software. - Removed all plugins / extensions. - Did a clean install of firefox (while keeping my profile). - Restarted my modem/router.

I have no proxy/vpn, so these are not issues.

Please help me!

Since approximately July 2023, Firefox gives me a beachball and pauses for about 10 seconds whenever I change between it and another app, or between one Firefox window and another. The same behavior does not occur with other browsers, likewise whether my connection is WiFi or wired.

I have No Proxy set in Network Settings. I am running a 2021 M1 Max Macbook Pro on Ventura 13.5.2.

I would appreciate any advice on how to troubleshoot and fix. Thanks.

Firefox is deleting my website exception list whether I have "Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed." checked or not. It is the same with the exceptions list for logins.

For the last couple of weeks, whenever I access the finance.yahoo.com/ website, my computer slows to a crawl. I run Activity Monitor to show me FF memory usage has surged to 6.5 GB! I cannot just 'quit' FF, have to force quit to regain the memory. No problems with any other website. I am running Mac OS 12.7, 8GB RAM, FF 102.0.1

Any help/suggestions appreciated.

The puzzle piece icon is not on the toolbar. Neither is it shown in the customize toolbar dialog. I have reset the toolbar to default, rebooted Windows 11 and removed & reinstalled Firefox 120.0.1 (64 bit). Those did not work. How can I restore the puzzle piece icon to the toolbar?

As Firefox was acting up I was going to uninstall and reinstall. It was suggested that I "refresh" it instead. Following that "refresh" my tabs bar is missing. How do I get it back? Also now the address bar is below the bookmarks bar. I can live with that but I need the tabs bar. FFOX 120.0.1 on Windows 11

The topic says it all. How do I prevent Firefox from shifting my typing from the search field to the address bar?

I try to type a search into the field on my homepage but the cursor gets shunted up to the address bar and I can't find a setting turn it off. I would prefer my typing to stay where I place the cursor with a click rather than being shunted off somewhere else on the screen.

After FireFox 80, the shortcut key of "Copy Link" and "Copy Email Address" was changed to L from A. This is really inconvenient for most right-hand users..

Anyone know how to change the L to A natively? I prefer the same way as a>, or post an add-on like c> but to change existing L to A, not add an extra link.

Hi all.

I use Firefox 120.0.1 with the setting "Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed" to clear said data when closing Firefox. I have also set an exception for a few websites, so they should save cookies and data. However, this does not work as intended. After closing and reopening Firefox, both cookies and data are gone from these websites. I have looked for a solution in older forum entries, and it was recommended to adjust the history settings. It seems that checking the box at "Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed" automatically sets the history settings to what can be seen in the attached screenshot. Altering these automatic settings unchecks the box above. Is this issue related to the website or is there a way to solve it?

I am a student, who tend to mass download files at once. The annoying part is that after every download, firefox automatically opens up the downloaded file in a new tap. How can I disable automatically open files after download?

Is there a setting or add-on for firefox (Windows) that will block tracking pixels? My email client hi-lites when present and as I understand they are incorporated within images so I dont down load attached images to reduce them. On their pro version they allow blocking of these pixels. Unlike cookies there doesn't seem to be an option on reception to opt out. I'm not fully clear what harm they do or whether they are session use only and delete on power off. I would rather not recieve them atall. Companies when challenged smokescreen and refer to cookies rather than pixels or bang on about their companys integrity.

As of recently, every time I try to watch someone on Twitch, where the video feed would normally be is the streamer's offline banner image. Chat is working fine, and is active despite the stream not being displayed on my end. If I check the Twitch mobile app the stream displays as normal, so I know they are currently streaming. I tried disabling all of my add-ons and restarting the browser to no avail. I am a noob, so please be patient with me. I have attached images of an example, but this happens with any live channel, not just ones I am following (I do not have any active subscriptions as far as I know).
