Firefox keeps freeing/hanging. First you will see the errors that pop up for me. Then the troubleshooting I have done to solve this problem.

For troubleshooting I have tried the following: disable addon's and restart in safe mode (did not help) disable theme and restart in safe mode (did not help) reset firefox (did not help) uninstalled Firefox & removed all traces of browser from my computer (yes even the registry was removed)


after doing the above I still had all my previous settings. I used IE to download a fresh copy and tired again. Still have all my settings, plugin's, tabs, and unremoved cookies and a little history

I am not tech savvy but the script errors made me think of Javascript. I went to about:config and searched for Java when javascript.enabled showed up I disabled and the problem has disappeared.

I know I need this javascript enabled. I cannot do much of anything at my site with is disabled.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this script hanging problem.

Lately I often get message that I am unable to reach Mozilla's servers. I live in Russia and my IP is Russian too. I had to reinstall Firefox recently and my sync was incomplete (no logins, no history, no bookmarks) even though I had that checked in before. Could it be external problem because of recent Telegram blockings in Russia? Or is it only me?

Thousands of errors on every page, but none shows in the console

Since Friday 25/5/2018 Firefox Developer Toolbar (SHIFT + F2) shows me hundreds if not thousands of errors on every page I visit, but if I click on the counter it'll show the Developer Console with 0 or almost 0 errors.

Just to make an example on this page it's showing me 663 errors, but if I open the console it only shows 2(3) warnings and 1 error. On some pages after a few minutes it reached 4k+ errors.

Firefox ESR 52.8.0. Yes I tried to launch firefox in safe mode and in fact I'm using the safe mode right now to write this post, but nothing really changes.

bookmarks do not sync across devices

Firefox no longer seems to be syncing my bookmarks among devices. In particular, the bookmarks I add on my work iMac do not sync to my android phone or my home macbook pro. I have done the following things to attempt to get things working:

1. Turned off firefox sync on all devices and then back on. 2. Deleted my firefox sync account and recreated it. 3. Deleted and reinstalled firefox on both my android phone and my macbook pro

I have also gone to about:sync-log and see that I seem to have lots of sync errors. I've attached a screenshot of the sync-log screen. I can't seem to attach the txt file of the latest error log, so I'm attaching two screen shots of it as well.

If anyone can help me out, I'd certainly appreciate it!

I've recently noticed lots of error-sync logs in the %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<My Profile>\weave\logs folder. My sync is set up to handle Bookmarks and History only.

I have 4 devices, 2 PCs - both Firefox 56.0.2 32-bit and 2 Android devices (latest Firefox, not sure of version). All 4 were previously set to sync together, Bookmarks/History.

One of the PCs (Windows 7 x64) - has the logs, but I've read numerous articles online on how to fix Sync myself or correct a corrupted places.sqlite database as that's what the error log seems to be suggesting is wrong.

Running check integrity against places.sqlite gives me this:

I have tried to repeat the process in safe mode and with a clear (new) profile - the issue persists. I have deleted places.sqlite (after making a backup) to see if sync suddenly starts working - but the bookmark related issue simply returns.

I have signed out on all devices, changed my sync password and logged in on just the PCs (for now until the problem is resolved). I have deleted all bookmarks on the 'problem' PC, then re-imported them from Internet Explorer on the other PC, then reactivated sync - this seems to initially work but once the 'problem' PC has the bookmarks, it tries to sync them and the errors return.

The error in question appears to be this:

I can supply the entire file if required or put it on pastebin.

The only real issue I'm having is that I simply want my history/bookmarks (but nothing else) shared between all my devices that use Firefox, be it quantum or 56.0.2.

I have not tried Firefox Quantum (as numerous add-ons I use are unsupported and I didn't want to simply switch without a road back). I did try Firefox 52.0.8 ESR but the first thing it did was delete my places.sqlite so I wasn't able to reproduce the problem I'm having as I don't want to lose my history data (bookmarks are stored primarily in IE for convenience and simply imported when I need them as I use 'PlainOldFavorites' extension).

This looks like a bug with firefox sync or a corrupt file, but since I've cleared places.sqlite and let FF recreate it, I'm at a loss. If you need any further information to help solve this, I'm happy to provide as much as possible.

Da ieri mi appare che i segnalibri non possono funzionare correttamente. Ho seguito tutte le vostre possibili soluzioni ed aiuti. I have had problems with Firefox Sync for a while.

I often reinstall operating systems I use. After each reinstall, I try to sync to my account. I get denied. The email gets returned.

I have bypassed this problem a number of times. I am not sure about the exact solution, but either waiting for 24 hours since last attempt to login or fiddling with Firefox Sync settings through my phone which is already logged in seemed to have helped.

Fiddling with phone settings does not work anymore. It may have never worked. I have not waited 24 hours since last attempt to login as well, so that could be the fix I am looking for. However, the main problem I have, is that I cannot bypass it in any other way. I am able to login to Firefox Screenshots for example with my account, but I cannot sign in to my Firefox account itself. It is not a good user experience.

I understand that this might be used for my own sake, to protect my account from potential intruders...however, I am very dissatisfied with not being able to sign it to my account for over couple of days because of such restrictions.

I do not think anyone can do anything about this, it will probably require redesigning existing safety measures just to deal with this obscure problem. I will wait for 24 hours and will update this post after I get the result. Maybe I can help someone else who is on the same boat as I am. I could not see similar problem on the internet other than a few, of which did not portray the problem in a way that I found relatable.

But maybe there is another way unbeknownst to me.
