I have a Win7 machine, and just bought a new Win10 desktop. I followed some instructions from a YouTube solution. From the Help>Troubleshoot>Profile Folder, I copied the profile folder (onto an external drive) and pasted it (from the external drive) onto the new OS(C:) as per instructions.

It did not work, I do not have all my bookmarks and extensions, etc. on the new Firefox browser I have installed on my new machine.

I don't know what to do now. All that was selected and overwritten is still selected on "This PC>OS(C:)" I was tempted to just delete all that shows selected...maybe not a good idea.

I really just wanted to migrate all my bookmarks, but doing the full profile folder seemed like a good idea at the time.... Help Mr. Wizard?!!

Hi

If I click my way through https://www.mozilla.org/de/firefox/all/#product-desktop-release I get a different Link everytime. So as someon who wants to distribute Firefox on different PC's , I want to know: Are there any direct download links for the latest version? The best would be some links like Webex has for distribution (e.g. https://mozilla.org/firefox/windows/FirefoxInstaller.exe)

Thanks in advance Robin

I need to transfer saved logins from Firefox on a soon to be retired laptop to Firefox on a new laptop. New laptop has a few logins created while setting it up than I copied manually knowing that when I import from the old laptop with many logins, the few on the new laptop will be overwritten. My problem is that Firefox can export logins into a logins.csv file but it seems can only import from a Microsoft browser. Is copying the key4.db and logins.json from the old to the new the only correct way to do this? The old laptops logins.json file has a recent date but the key4.db has a 2018 date even though some new logins were saved last month. Do I only need to copy the logins.json file?

I got a new computer so I created an acct and set all my open tabs and history to sync. It wasn't intuitive to my not techie brain, but found out how to open all the tabs on the new computer. However, they don't open in the same order (makes it almost useless when you have a lot of tabs), and the tabs don't have their associated history.

Is there some way to have Firefox open tabs and history in the same state on the new device?

I am using Pop OS, which is based off of Ubuntu.

Somehow I did something, and it made the icon disappear for Firefox. I figured I could easily search the internet and find a simple solution.

I temporarily fixed it last night, but here it is missing again.

I could upload a picture, but I don't see what difference that would make. The dock at the bottom has a spot for firefox, but no icon, literally an empty spot, In the application menu it is a blank spot with Firefox worded underneath.

I have uninstalled, reinstalled, purged, deleted the application data in my user folder..

Just annoying. not a huge problem.

I was following this article https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/run-firefox-chromeos

Installed flatpak and repositories but when I try to use flatpak to install firefox I get "No remote refs found similar to ‘firefox’".

I have tried following a few other ways to get it installed, such as using sudo and using sudo su but that has not worked at all.

I followed to flatpak quick setup on Chromebook guide that is linked in the above help article and created the nested containers in crosh as well.

below is what happens if I go to flathub and copy-paste their recommended command to install firefox.

Remote ‘flathub’ found in multiple installations:

  1) system
  2) user

Which do you want to use (0 to abort)? [0-2]: 2 error: Nothing matches org.mozilla.firefox in remote flathub

I realize that you all don't support the older version. Yet it's also the case that Apple won't update this El Capitan on my 2008 model (terrible, a crying shame, I know).

I've also tried to install your Extended Support Release. Will that work? I'm an independent research scholar, not currently associated with either Oxford or Stanford.

So I really need to have your Firefox back — I had it until this morning, when I needed to trash it (b/c of a bug), and then re-install. Yet I've not been able to re-install so far.

Hence, I'm seeking your help!

Thank you, Davy

Hello,

Please can you tell me how I can click on a word document and for the document to automatically open without having to click the link in my downlaods? See screenshot of the download box that appears in the top right that I have to click to open the word document.

It does it for a PDF document but not for a word document.

As said in the title, both Firefox, Firefox DE and Chrome will open and crash/close instantly on my new Lenovo Legion PC with Windows 11 installed on it. Only Edge works, and so far I've tried a lot of solutions : -Restart PC -Uninstall, delete files and fresh install both programs -The MSCONFIG thing and unchecking start programs -Every update Windows update recommended me -Entire new windows install, without any linking with my previous pc (which had the same problem two times already, both fixed by returning to a previous version of windows)

I believed it was a ram problem with my previous pc because it was old, but this one is completely new and has the same problem, while there's nothing except my microsoft account that is common to both PCs

I'm completely lost, help me please (writing this on another PC)

"OpenH264 Video Codec provided by Cisco Systems, Inc." plugin will sit in the "will be installed shortly" status forever if you have HTTPS-Only mode enabled. I have been pulling my hair out for the last few days trying to figure out why I couldn't play YouTube or many other sites videos.

Turns out the site that the library is downloaded from has a bad certificate installed: https://ciscobinary.openh264.org/libopenh264-2.3.0-linux64.6.so.bz2

``` Websites prove their identity via certificates. Firefox does not trust this site because it uses a certificate that is not valid for ciscobinary.openh264.org. to upgrade my firefox browser from 32 bit to 64 bit, I was following the mozilla instructions to download the 64 bit version, but then uninstall the 32 bit version before installing the 64 bit version. However, using the microsoft store to obtain the 64 bit version, it didn't just download it, it installed the 64 bit version. Now I have both. Should I merely remove 32 bit, and my profile file will be accessed to complete the set up of the 64 bit version? Don't want to loose bookmarks, passwords, etc. by removing 32 bit version.
Late last week, something changed in Firefox browser. I used to download csv files and Firefox would open them with the option to save as an excel file. Now it does not. I have to save it as csv then convert it to excel. It also doesn't seem to save my settings on the website I'm downloading from - I always have to manipulate the settings before downloading. It is a huge headache and I have resorted to using Chrome instead.
