What use to work in "about:config" to auto add prefix (www.) and suffix (.com) doesn't work in Firefox Quantum. Looking for what works. The "browser.fixup.alternate.prefix and suffix" are set to default, string, (www. and .com) Not sure if default is to apply or not apply. thanks

71's new picture-in-picture feature could be useful, but I can't find any way to control which monitor the video is played on. It seems to always open on Windows' 1st monitor, which for me is almost always turned off. Of course Windows in it's infinite wisdom will not let you choose which monitor is number 1. This basically makes the feature useless. :( So, is there some setting somewhere in the about:config where I can control which monitor is default? I can't find an obvious one, at least. EDIT: I was wrong. It doesn't always open the video on the 1st monitor. It just always opens the video on the monitor to the left of the one the browser is on. :D

NPAPI flash plugin not loading

Today I noticed that my custom plugins are no longer working. I decided to try and re-install flash. I removed the plugins from the directory manually then started again. I downloaded the NPAPI version from adobe (pictured). I then extracted the files and copied the plugin (libflashplayer.so) to firefox's plugin path ($MOZ_PLUGIN_PATH, which for me was /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins). I then restarted firefox. However, the shockwave flash plugin is not present in the plugins tab. This is odd as it was a couple of days ago before I redid this. Sites like newgrounds worked perfectly. Back when flash was working, I noticed on some sites that used html5, it would instead try to use flash. For a whille, the openh264 was stuck on "will be installed shortly." Now when I go to those sites, it will show the thumbnail, but not play. Youtube videos still work, however. In fact, it's really the only video site that still works. Was there a dramatic change in the past couple of days or something? I didn't even update firefox myself, this happened seemingly out of nowhere. I'll post my about:support data in the hopes that it might help? https://pastebin.com/6iHkwwjz I would post here, but it said it was too long... :/ According to this article: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/install-flash-plugin-view-videos-animations-games in theory, it should still work. However, despite installing flash and restarting firefox... no shockwave flash plugin is present in about:plugins

When playing video in IMDb site the small blue rectangle that slides out when you hover over it is centred on the middle of the right hand edge of the video play back window. This is exactly where the right hand play next video white arrow > is situated as well. When you wish to play the next video it picks up Firefox new Picture in Picture toggle instead of the next video arrow >.

Aged eyes are having trouble with size of thumbnails in pix choosers when called from inside of websites and apps. The thumbnails are too damn small.
When viewing native Apple Photos app, I can control the size. But when Photos is called through FF to add a pix, I can't tell a thing.

Firefox has always made me feel happy. But I am having significant problems with Mac OS version 71.0.
I am running a macOS Catalina v 10.15.1 on a 3 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5; 16 GB 2400 MHz DDR4.
I am NOT having a performance issue. Instead, the browser is not responding as expected when given tasks.
1. It will not open a link in a new tab. The tab does not open and it's as if I never clicked on the menu item. Same with open in new window. 2. It will not open the default search engine from the URL bar. Instead, it responds as if I mistyped a URL. 3. It will not allow me to set a Default Search Engine. The option to do that in Preferences is a drop-down arrow that does nothing when clicked. 4. It will not allow me to Remove an add-on. Usually issues with Firefox are related to add-ons, but when I Remove an add-on, then restart Firefox, the add-on is still there. 5. (silly, minor issue) I'd like the tab bar to be dark, again. The white tabs are too bright! I know this is silly, but you asked...
I did run Firefox in safe mode and all of the same problems continue to occur. I did reinstall FF v. 71.0 and all of the same problems continue to occur.

All of a sudden, holding down the mouse button and scrolling the mouse wheel wont resize the webpages anymore. Not sure what happened, if it was an update on an add-on or what? How can I fix it? I tried disabling the add-on I thought could've caused the problem (Zoom Page WE), but that didn't fix it. It's Alienware 15R4, Windows 10 Home Edition, Version 1903, with Firefox 71.0 64 bit.

"Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because one of the following protocols (ms-word) isn't associated with any program or is not allowed in this context." The documents should either open in the browser or trigger the desktop app. Installing older versions hasn't fixed this.
