Recently, when a popup window appears, the toolbar doesn't have buttons for any of my addons.

In about:config, I'd intentionally set dom.disable_window_open_feature.toolbar to true (following the solution provided in: question 1206512).

Previously, this was successful in ensuring that popup windows got the full toolbar, but now it has stopped working.

I'm not sure exactly which release this started with.

Steps to reproduce:

1) Set dom.disable_window_open_feature.toolbar to true.

2) Visit https://jeffersonscher.com/res/popit.html and follow the third link.

3) The window that pops up has no toolbar icons for the installed extensions.

This is driving me nuts.

My desired behavior is that, when I middle-mouse-click on a hyperlink, Firefox launches a new window (not a tab) with that URL.

This is how it was working before a power interruption forced my computer to restart tonight, and my desired behavior has gone away.

The middle mouse button works for other functions; and, middle-clicking on bookmarks in my bookmark bar does launch a new window with that bookmark as expected. However, middleclicking a hyperlink does nothing.

I have browser.tabs.opentabfor.middleclick = false and in the options menu, "open links in tabs instead of new windows" is unchecked. Additionally I have set browser.link.open_newwindow = 2.

Can anyone help me here? This is driving me slightly batty.

On my personal laptop, I have the Multi-Account Containers extension (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/addon/multi-account-containers/) running smoothly. I'm currently on a public desktop computer , and I enabled Firefox Sync, which did a good job for passwords, bookmarks, etc, but it didn't sync any of my container info for the Multi-Account Containers add-on. I see the default containers: Personal, Work, Bank, Shopping. On my personal laptop, I have about a dozen containers. What's wrong?

Hi, I hope you're having a wonderful day, and I hope someone can help me with this.

3 days ago, I accidentally press a hotkey, then the web page becomes smaller, and has empty space around it (screenshot: https://ibb.co/RQ74q3Z ). I attached the screenshot below, too. This doesn't affect other web pages. When I open the same page from my other computer, it happens the same way. I tried [ctrl +] and [ctrl -], but it only changes the font size and doesn't make the space go away.

Thank you for your help.

Hello all,

I used to have this setting whereby I had an icon at the end of the address bar which I could click on to copy whichever link was current at the time. I reinstalled Firefox or something due to a problem I had and I can't seem to find that option anymore. I can't remember if it was an add-on or an option in Firefox itself as standard.

I'm using Firefox 89.0 on a Mac.

Does anybody know how I can get that icon back?

Thank you.

I have read every article on this I can find, including everything in Firefox. I cannot get videos to stop automatically play. I can get them to not play sound. I have changed every single setting in about:config, media.autoplay. Nothing stops them from playing. I have used numbers from 0 to 5 in media.autoplay.default. Attached is a screenshot of my settings.

I do not have any plug-ins at this point, as I just installed Windows 10 and am configuring my computer.

I am extremely sensitive to these moving videos; they make me feel sick. So I really need them disabled. PCMag is a good example of a site with a million different (types?) of videos playing.

Thanks to anyone reading this. I depend on several Firefox addons for my livelihood and need them to work.

The problem: Only a select few of my addons work after installing a parallel (older) version of firefox in a separate Program Files folder I called "Firefox 49.02. (why I wanted to do that: there is a specific iMacros version and some scripts that only work with 49.02, and I wanted to use FF 49.02 to run that version of iMacros while I wasn't using the regular updated version (i.e. FF 72).

I didn't expect my current addons to work in FF 49, so I wasn't surprised when they were disabled for that version.

BUT when opening the latest, FF 72, virtually all my addons were also disabled!

All disabled addons, except for 3 of them (out of almost 100), don't even have a blue switch or a way to enable them, even in the context menu, or the manage page (where you can enable auto-updates and see author details and home page etc.).

I ran a "Check for updates" for all addons, and a couple managed to update and enable, though I'm not sure if they were ones that had a switch.

I've attached a screenshot of the addons page showing some without an enable option beside a couple that do.

Note: All these addons worked flawlessly in this prior to installing FF 49

I've searched everywhere but everything is so saturated with fixing the "disabled addons certificate" problems that happened for everyone who *upgraded*. In my case, I installed a parallel downgraded version and the addon's won't work in either version.

Hope things are clear, sorry if I repeated my self. Please let me know any more information needed I am desperately seeking a solution for this.

""Many users with low vision rely on Windows' High Contrast Mode to make websites more readable. Traditionally, to increase the readability of text, Firefox has disabled background images when High Contrast Mode is enabled. With today’s release of Firefox 73, we introduce a “readability backplate” solution which places a block of background color between the text and background image. Now, websites in High Contrast Mode are more readable without disabling background images."

This "upgrade" has made unreadable many webpages. I have - for years - used a high-contrast screen color set-up: black background with white letters. I used to be able to control the on-screen colors of visited and unvisited links. That control went away a few "upgrades" ago.

This most recent upgrade, make all e-Bay pages unreadable: there are huge white areas, which used to be black.

How do I undo this "upgrade", so that Firefox no longer wrecks my screen-color set-up.

Note: I will not - under any circumstances - address a problem created by an upgrade, by changing my computer's settings, e.g., by editing registry files, etc.

Good Morning

Today I had to repair Firefox and after restarting, I felt a strange scrolling sensation, it was not the normal Firefox scrolling, I even thought I had openend the wrong browser...so I went check about:config , and found some values where changed as new default values:

general.smoothScroll.mouseWheel.durationMaxMS 200 general.smoothScroll.mouseWheel.durationMinMS 50

I tought it was me the problem so I installed an older version of Firefox (80.0) in order to compare, and found a normal scrolling and those values:

general.smoothScroll.mouseWheel.durationMaxMS 400 general.smoothScroll.mouseWheel.durationMinMS 200

I think this is a mistake from devs, if i wanted to have horrible scrolling, I could just use Edge instead of Firefox, could you please bring the original scrolling back to Firefox?

Thanks

With the new v85 of Firefox... for Microsoft Print to PDF...

the defaults for print headers & footers has changed and is no longer available to edit or even view. It seems as though my settings remain in place for other printing options like my physical printer but even there the options are not editable or viewable.

There used to be a "page setup" option but I have not be able to find this anywhere anymore.

I'm assuming that it has to do with the bug fix for pdf printing but doesn't seem that it should be an intended outcome of the fix.

Any work arounds anyone knows about or has found?

Between each folder, I inserted separators for a better readability.

I can add it by dragging and dropping via the bookmarks to the personal bar, but it disappears after restarting Firefox.

I would like to set this pref to TRUE by default with the use of user.js file but I can't find the name of the pref related to this behaviour :

I'm on a window. I click on a link. Before it fully load, i get back on my first tab. The opened tab fired up a popup to inform me of something.

I would like to be automaticly redirected on this tab without having to manually press the checkbox on the dialog popup.

There must be a preference to add to user.js in my profile folder to set it to TRUE.
