Also McAffee notification with all these popups stating that my McAffee protection expired yesterday - I have never had a McAffee notification for a virus or pair for protection from them. Popups are happening every 10 seconds continuously! looks like about 20 or more popups describing different problems with 20 digit numbers and letters as a serial number of the problem!

I switched from chrome to firefox earlier this year because I was TIRED of google chrome and its horrific privacy and security. I'm extremely disappointed to hear that your new CEO wants to further integrate AI into Firefox. If this course is not reversed, I WILL be uninstalling Firefox. I will also encourage all of my friends (whom I just convinced to switch from chrome with me) to switch as well.

I have dealt with the shortcomings of Firefox because it does not integrate AI.

If Firefox is also going to integrate AI, there is absolutely no reason for me to continue using it.

When accessing important accounts on websites, like financial websites, I've always heard you should close your browser when you're done with the secure website. If you log on in a PRIVATE window and close the private window afterword but leave the main FireFox window open, is that the same thing? I think it is and the private window will delete any login or activity info as if you closed the browser, I just want to confirm with someone more knowledgeable before I make a bad assumption. It also seems to have the added benefit of deleting anything you might download and save elsewhere from the download folder so you don't have to delete it from the DL folder and then the recycle bin. Seems like it's good practice to use the private window this way. Again, just looking for a 2nd opinion.

Have tried different solutions like Malware product and cleaning cashe and cookies. When I search a known safe site I get redirect by Convertitmas stating the (known safe) site is unsafe. Best regards Henrik Nygaard

I did some research recently on some travel sites.

Today, while trying to research which tab was doing DNS queries to SnapChat (which I never use) I learned about `about:processes`. I found 5 "hidden" tabs from various travel sites (some of which I never visited) running in the background. I did not explicitly hide any tabs.

WHY IS IT ALLOWED FOR SITES TO KEEP OPEN HIDDEN TABS AT ALL WITHOUT TELLING ME ABOUT IT?

This is not conducive to trusting Mozilla.

I just learnt that my internet provider is blocking some domain like web.telegram.org which is very annoying. The solution i found on internet is vpn or tor browser.

Am i expecting something from firefox that it cant help me with?

A free vpn or tor browser like functionality?

EXPLAIN PLEASE IF NOT I AM DELETING FIRE FOX

Was prompted to download a program to Firefox before I paid my phone bill. I did not recognize the web address or name that was shown, and the account number from which recent payment was deducted did match any accounts I hold or held in the past. I cancelled the action immediately, without downloading, but am still concerned. I found nothing on the internet about this, just got a summation chat AI response that stated the phone company had no download/extension for Firefox. Has anyone had any experience like this or could someone shed some light on this?

I was prompted to install a .js file while on a website unrelated to mozilla organization. I was taking a work call and distracted at the time and was dumb enough to install it before I realized this was not a normal update. Should I uninstall and reinstall firefox? I have received 3 system alerts, all from Mozilla Firefox (I use Firefox as my default browser). 1) System is infected!---click on d45n9f8ko90s738b610.gsx-protect.co.in 2) ZEUS.2020 Trojan detected--with same directed site 3) System Alert!---with same directed site.

I use McAfee as my security system. They recommend going to Firefox settings and disallowing random site connections. How do I get my system running again.

have you gone mad??? why would you want to add ai bullshit to firefox? the only reason people use firefox is because you aren't doing all that bullshit, and stealing all our data

I hope this goes somewhere, like a representative email or something. But I use firefox because it's user and cpu friendly, and it isn't spying on me like Google. I can disable so many analytics and have privacy extensions. Re: your new CEO's intro article, I find it infringing upon my privacy to force AI features on my browser like this. Your primary userbase does not want this.

Hello! Long time Firefox user here, grew up with a father working in IT security. He's mentioned this a few times before, but now we've both really noticed the push towards using generative AI in roles in IT where it's really unsuitable, and honestly quite a risk to security and privacy, not to mention quite a waste of time having to fact check things properly because I cannot even be sure that the first result in a Google search for "how far away is the moon" will be correct. We're quite concerned that Firefox is following suit, especially with the new CEO evidently not understanding some of the fundamentals of why this browser has such a dedicated user base. Just wondering if saving the money by not having to hire competent, trained professionals who can provide the human touch needed to run a browser is truly worth eroding Firefox's reputation of being the genuinely good alternative to Chrome? How long before the AI stops being optional? How much of the code is going to end up written by some language learning algorithm and passed off as safe? If this push is to continue, what alternatives does anyone in the community suggest? Thank you for any responses from both myself and my father :-)
