I have been having this issue for a couple days where I've been trying to connect to a network on my personal device, and getting sent to "ping.archlinux.org/nm-check.txt", but upon it opening it would prompt me to login to the network (then clicking on login would go to ping.archlinux.org and so on...) For a while I was messing around with NetworkManager configs to no success, but then I found captive portal detection and I've made progress on solving the issue, so far I've tried turning "network.captive-portal-service.enabled" to false but then the "open network login page" button stopped showing up entirely and trying to search would so a no WIFI page, so that won't work, then I tried changing "captivedetect.canonicalURL" to an empty string, but then the network login page was obviously an empty page, I'm really not sure what to do now, I haven't found any answers yet, so any help will be greatly appreciated.

I had to factory reset my system and prior to this I used Ad block plus and Ublock origin and had it set up where I could right mouse click on the extension and select 'this can read site data only on click'. Now that I have them again, that option is unavailable on right-click or even in the permissions section of the extensions. Can someone please tell me how to get this feature back? It's very unnerving to watch a page load with cookie stored sensitive data and try to quickly turn off the extension knowing that it has harvested that data already. Thank you

My firefox installation failed to play any videos. It would load the video forever (longest time was 15 minutes) and never actually play; this persisted on all media sites I tried and was exclusive to firefox (other browsers worked fine). I reinstalled firefox entirely as a last resort. I now cannot sign in with my account to sync any of my browser data.
I use firefox on three places: macOS laptop, windows PC, and mobile phone (ios). When I try to sign in on the windows PC (the new installation), it lets me sign in and then says the sync failed and I need to sign in to sync data. It forces me to verify my sign in every single time. even if I just signed in and hit the sync option, it makes me sign in and verify my account again. It has been an hour of troubleshooting and I'm so goddamn frustrated with this. Never had any issues like this in the eight years I've used FF, but this mess makes me want to switch browsers entirely. IDK what to do.
How can I permanently delete bookmarks? Please explain in simple language as the lingo is foreign to me.

I recently tested the OCSP-status feature aka "security.OCSP.require".
I have a PKI setup, where two different OCSP-Responders exist in different geo-locations to provide high availability.
The TLS-certificate I used for testing, had two entries under the AIA extension, one for each responder. I then went ahead and shut down the first responder in that list.
But instead of asking the second responder for a certificate status, Firefox threw an error page and refused to connect to the website. Furthermore, even with the "ocsp_cache" feature disabled, FF did not retry to connect to the first OCSP-Responder even after it was reachable again. I saw no tcp-traffic whatsoever when I reloaded the web-page. I had to restart the whole browser for it to work again.
Now my question is this:
- Is the OCSP Feature broken in FF 128.2ESR or am I using it incorrectly?

I am unable to log in to my router with Firefox. This is a very recent development. When I go to the router's address, it says Unable to connect. I am on a Mac Studio (OS 15.1), running Firefox 132.0.1. The same thing is happening with Edge, but I can get to the router just fine with Safari and Chrome.
If anyone know why this is happening, your input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
P.S. I did make some changes a couple of weeks ago in about:config, but I don't know what settings I changed. I was trying to find out why the computer was constantly accessing my optical drives (I thought it was when a web browser was open, but it turned out to be all of the time). Since then everytime i open the jira website and click into the username field, my password is displayed as "username-suggestion". How can i remove this. Having spent a frustrating weelend being unable to log into Coventry Building Society's online banking app, I 'phoned the this morning to be told they consider Firefox insecure and no longer support its use. The app accepts my username & password, tells me they are going to 'phone me with an access code and then displays "Page not found". Anyone know of any other bank or similar who would believe Firefox to be insecure?

I've been using Firefox for years with no problems. Today I opened it and it wanted me to make it my default browser, which it already was, but I did it anyway. Now when I click a link in an email in Thunderbird, Firefox loads but all my passwords and user names are gone. If I close and reload Firefox and cut and paste the link, I have my passwords and user names back and everything is normal. Windows 10 shows only one version of Firefox installed, but for awhile settings/default apps listed 2 versions (now it only shows one). How do I change this?
