Firefox completely changed overnight without notice and I have lost all my bookmarks and can't find out how to access TV channels that were easily available previously on my desktop. Trying to make sense of changes but struggling. Nothing that used to work for me is still available. I don't even recognise it. Might have to give up Firefox.

I have this icon on my Firefox logo pinned to my desktop and it has changed the entire look of my FF how can i reset it to what it was and get back all my bookmarks.

Can someone please help me

I run normal firefox on linux. Fully up-to-date. Every time I quit the app, it reverts to a version of my profile from a month ago, and loads all the tabs I had open then, and then receives all the tabs that I sent to the device in the interim (~1 month). As I speak, it just caught the 60 or 70 tabs in this window.

I tried changing the name of my profile folder to randomstring.defaultOLD and changed one of the backups to randomstring.default. This didn't change the behavior. I'm still stuck in the loop. I saved my tabs with onetab, because firefox isn't remembering my session anymore. I thought it was something to do with updates, like it only loses its mind upon updates, but that's not true. It thinks it's updating firefox EVERY TIME, because the one time it's loading to 1 month ago it was updating, but I'm 100% sure there are no updates to firefox in my linux. It's just hallucinating.

The articles on restoring from backup are outdated. They say to use an html file. There is no html file. It's just folders for profiles, not html files. HELP!

recently bought new desktop and upgraded win10 to win11 in the process (preloaded). I found 'places:sqlite' in win10 firefox and copied it to usb drive. How do I copy it to win11 firefox? i.e. where is the folder containing the sqlite file in win11? will copying the file also place the bookmarks in the win10 firefox locations? Will the layout preferences transfer over (hate to be negative, but I hate the win11 firefox interface that was preloaded on the new win11 machine.) thanks for anyhelp.

I got a pop-up that said I needed to upgrade my Firefox so I clicked on (Firefox ESR-64Bit) and lost my one and only profile in Firefox. HELP I need it back it has all my passwords and bookmarks

I have to reload history, bookmarks, passwords each 3 - 4 days, when Firefox refreshes the software. It was not happening before, just in the last two moths. How can I fix it?

Recently my installation of Firefox (Windows 10, 64 bit) updated. Now my bookmarks are apparently gone--or at least I can't see them. Furthermore, I can't bookmark anything at all, so I don't have the option of laboriously rebuilding my library of bookmarks. I don't know how to recover what I had, or even if I can at all. Nor do I know how to alter settings so I can add new bookmarks. Could someone please assist? Thanks.

I had to erase my laptop and am in the process of resetting it up. I used firefox prior and am trying to see if it is possible to restore all my previous bookmarks etc. I was told it automatically backed them up.

Almost every time there is an update------it screws up something I rely on. In this case, the sites I have saved under the top search bar have now disappeared. Why?????? And how do I get them back.

I readily admit that I am technically challenged and need clear concise instructions step by step to find them and put them back where I had them. 

Why oh why do the buggers making these changes think anyone is going to like them. Leave things that work well ALONE.

You forced an update and all my open tabs vanished into thin air. I was working with those!!!

I tried to follow the history recover path, no-go. I tried the json file path and can't get Firefox to open the tabs in the json recovery file from a month ago, not that that would be helpful anyway since I want yesterday's before the update!

Now I gotta spend a lot of time finding those scientific papers again - should charge you my hourly rate for wasting my time.

It's sh.it programming that's what it is. Bet you they were using AI to do the update.

Well never mind, I've grown tired of Firefox anyway since it just starts using 80% of my RAM when I have more than 10 tabs open. There's other browsers.
