I shut my computer down for a day and when I came home and started it again and opened firefox it was like a completely new install of firefox. It didn't restore my previous session, all my defaults were gone, all my bookmarks were gone. I have no idea how to restore any of this any why this happened. Did a bad update get pushed or something?

AOL Mail has the facility to "You have Email" when my account is opened, but it no longer works in Firefox! it is fine if I use Chrome or IE11 to open my account, but not using firefox - so the problem MUST be with Firefox. It used to work but stopped around April 9 or 10 2019!

Once again, without any warning, Firefox demanded I power-cycle itself because it, *without any permission*, installed an update "in the background". Firefox refuses to carry out any further action until I comply with its demands.

Let me be very clear: forced auto-updates are **100% EVIL**. I own, and am ultimately responsible for, this computer. Me. Not you. Me.

Download the update, fine. Notify me about it, present to me what the changes are coming, sure.

But under absolutely NO CIRCUMSTANCES is Firefox, or any other program for that matter, to modify itself or any other element of this computer without my positive consent.

Thanks a bunch!

Firefox is up to date. Windows 10 is up to date. Netflix video plays in all other browsers, IE 111, MS Edge, Chrome. It stopped playing in FF same time it stopped for the rest of the world about a year ago. I am tired of switching to another browser every time I go to Netflix. I have read other answers and they are all snippily saying that there is nothing wrong with FF but with settings in Windows 10. This doesn't fly because since Netflix video plays in ALL OTHER BROWSERS, this is a problem with FF not Windows 10. If FF would be so kind as to STOP being the bully in town ande conform to the same settings all other browsers use for playing Netflix video, this would be greatly appreciated. Meantime, instead of changing my Windows 10 settings to make FF happy over ALL OTHER BROWSERS, I will instead simply stop using , and convert solely to Chrome., If, in future, any of you scratch your heads and wonder why everyone fell away from FF remember these events. Goodbye.

Earlier tonight, with no warning or apparent cause, the vast majority of my browser extensions suddenly stopped working with a "could not be verified for use in Firefox" error message. These include some popular ones, such as Adblock Plus, which I installed from addons.mozilla.org and I'm pretty sure are properly signed.

I'm on FF 66.0.3 and have been since April 10th, and all of them had been working fine up until now. I wasn't installing or updating anything at the time when they stopped working. I typically use a VPN service to connect to the internet, but the problem persists even after I turned it off, so I don't think that caused it. I can't think of anything else that might be the cause.

Any info or ideas on how to fix this would be appreciated.

Using Firefox 66.0.3 I want to disable the blocking of "redirects". I am sick of having to keep clicking the "Allow" button. I want to turn the redirecting off.

On the internet it tells me to check Tools-->Options-->Advanced In Firefox 66.0.3 there is not an "Advanced". The solutions on the internet are old.

How do I turn this off? I guess I want to turn "Warn Me When Websites Try to Redirect or Reload the Page" OFF.

Please tell me (and everyone else) how to do this.

Hello. I've been struggling to figure out how to get the address bar and tabs to hide when in fullscreen mode on my Mac. At first, I thought this was just the default setting, but after browsing other Community posts and discussions on Reddit and such, I began to suspect those are supposed to hide by default, but are not in my case.

Please see the photo attached for what I mean—the tabs and address bar never go away, if they are supposed to, regardless of whether I have a new tab or a webpage open.

I tried Firefox with all my add-ons turned off, because some posts suggested they can prevent auto-hiding. I have looked for CSS solutions and extensions which could help, but I am utterly frustrated. Please help!

Thanks in advance.

I don't like MSExplorer or Bing. I've set Firefox Quantum 66.0.2 (64bit) as my default browser with search results from Google.

When I type a search in the 'Type here to search' window, MS Explorer opens with a Bing search result.

How do I get the thing to stop opening Explorer and simply open FF?

And again, Firefox is absolutely set as my default (menu/options/'smiley' Firefox is currently your default browser)

When saving a Bookmark, and security is not an issue, it's useful to have User Name and PW in the properties tab. If the PW has CAPS within it and is saved, when reviewed, the CAPS have been all changed to lower-case. Makes it difficult to remember which character(s) were Capitalized when entering a PW. This is a problem with sites that require mixed characters.

For years I've used a userchrome script to show multiple rows of bookmarks, but it no longer works in Firefox 66!

Does anyone know what's gone wrong, or a way this can be fixed?

I cannot function without multi-row bookmarks! I have over 25,000 bookmarks, all neatly organized into folders across five rows of bookmarks. there's no way I could cram all those categories into one single, solitary row.

It's a shame that Firefox has never seriously supported the bookmark bar. It's always been buggy, ugly, cumbersome to use, and never felt very "solid". The menu also has a tendency to disappear, making it hard to organize and drag bookmarks and folders around.
