This morning I received a response to a question posted yesterday. However, the response was to a link that did not provide a successful result. I'll try to restate the problem more clearly. Problem: when I click on the address bar to initiate a search, seven choices appear in a drop down menu, none of which I want. These choices include options that are NOT resolved by going to Settings, Options, Search and unchecking a search engine choice. As mentioned before, these also are not in my bookmarks or my search history, or in Extensions, so I'm stumped as to where to go to get rid of them.

Please see screenshots, attached. One screen shot is of my choices in Settings, Options, Search. In this shot, the only search engine I've chosen is DuckDuckGo. The other screen shot is of the drop down choices that appear in my search bar. Please notice that the drop down choices include, for example, Reddit, Facebook, and Twitter. None of these sites appear under Settings, Options, Search. Please help. Thank you.

I am using "browser.link.open_newwindow.restriction" to force links that normally open in new windows, to instead open in new tabs. It all works fine, except when I click those links, Firefox switches to the new tabs immediately when I click them. I would like the tabs to open in new tabs but I do not want Firefox to immediately switch to them.

Please note that I have unchecked "When you open a link in a new tab, switch to it immediately". Meaning, Firefox correctly does not switch to new tabs for normal links. However, it is switching to the new tabs for links that would normally open in new windows.

Hello! It seems my Firefox browser is in two languages and I can't change it. I want it to be all in English but it also incorporates my country's language and I don't know how to fix it. Any idea how to fix it and for it all to be in English? I added some screenshots if it'll help.

How can I prevent these choices from appearing? Note: they disappear as soon as I start typing in the address bar, but I'm bothered by this unwanted clutter on my screen even if only temporary. Also, these are not in my bookmarks or my search history, nor are they on the list of checked search engines in my preference settings. Thank you.

Currently the menu only shows "Open Link in New Tab" and "Open Link in New Private Window"

I seem to remember having to edit something in about:config to get this option in the past, but I just installed Firefox on a new computer and can't find the option.

I'm aware that there are other methods of doing that (middle click), but that's not ideal as I'm really used to using the right-click menu.

For some reason I'm not able to play/pause or skip anything on Firefox using binds. Function keys are normal like F3 to find, F5 to refresh a page. I tried uninstalling Firefox entirely and reinstalling it and there is no progress. This play/pause bind works in Chrome and Brave but not on Firefox.

Quite often I accidentally double click on a video or a picture and Firefox decides it means I want to go to full screen. In my case it never does. I have never wanted to use full screen for anything in a browser and yet several times a month it decides by itself to go full screen. There is after all a reason I am using a computer and not a tablet(multiple windows).

So how do I stop Firefox from ever going to full screen mode regardless of what happens in Windows?

I have tried doing searches both on search engines, extensions and Firefox help site but all results seem to just point at the opposite solutions of always being full screen.

When opening a new tab from my Yahoo homepage, I would automatically see a page with buttons at the top of my most commonly used websites---amazon, my email, my bank, etc.

Below those buttons would be links to about a dozen feature-length articles (each link had an image and brief description of the article) from different online news and magazine sources (WAPO, NY Times, New Yorker, Esquire, Vox, etc.) These articles were feature articles and not ads, and they varied in length.

Someone was working on updating my Windows 10 and now I can't access that page. I don't have a name for that page but I do miss it. How can I access that page again?

Hi, I've seen this posted before, but the answer doesn't work for me or my computer. when I click on the searchbar to enter a URL, there are four websites that are pinned and have a little grey world symbol with a pin in them. I have not been to those sites in a couple years and they are not the most popular ones i visit. Prior answers have indicated clicking on the 3 dots (ellipses) and unchecking or clicking to Unpin this Tab. None of the four sites are showing as pinned, so it is a different solution.

I am running Firefox 78.0.2 thanks.
