I found 'chromeasia.com' autocompleting in the Firefox address bar upon typing 'ch'. I searched History for this and there was no sign of it. I cleared all history data, rebooted, ran a disk cleanup and find that 'chromeasia.com' stil autocompletes upon typing 'ch' in the address bar.

Any suggestions or advice on how to clear this would be warmly appreciated. Thanks. Stephen

Consider the following scenario: I want to go to "nextcloud.com", so I go to the address bar and start typing. Unfortunately, I make a mistake, and the first character I type is 'b'. Firefox then offers the autocomplete "bc.co.uk", and highlights it. I type another different letter, the added autocomplete offer is replaced with the character I added, and it will try to offer another autocomplete suggestion with all the characters I have typed so far. However, I realised the 'b' was wrong, so I press <backspace> then start typing "nextcloud.com". Of course, the backspace key now only removed the autocomplete suggestion, leaving the original 'b' I typed (so I now have "bnextcloud.com"). My question: Is there a way set configure firefox so that the key sequence 'b' followed by '<backspace>' to return the address bar to the original (empty in this example) condition? If this means turning off auto-suggest, I am happy to do that, since I don't use it anyway.

Thanks.

Firefox's Desktop application just gave me a desktop notification for"BootstrapBrain" on what the best web template for financial applications is. I've attached a screenshot. That is a site I've used in the past; I guess Mozilla is using my web history to suggest content :/

I don't like the usual "suggested content" i.e. when you open a new tab you see headlines and the weather, but this feels really different. i have never seen suggested content in this format before.

I really don't appreciate what appears to be an advertisement that was enabled by default. I'll comb through Firefox's settings now to turn this off. Just wanted to loudly voice my complaint first.

How to prioritize my bookmark over the website's homepage in address bar suggestions

When I type "moo" in the address bar, the first suggestion (which is auto-completed and loads when I press Enter) is the website's base URL "https://moodle.uni-siegen.de/" instead of the webpage that I have bookmarked "https://moodle.uni-siegen.de/my/courses.php".

This is really annoying because it ends up costing me too many extra clicks to get to the webpage I actually need, especially since this is a website that I have to use often.

How can I prioritize the bookmarked option over the base URL?

I have already tried switching search and suggestion options in the settings, removing the homepage with the base URL from the history, and tweaking the frecency settings in about:config, but nothing worked.

Dear Community,

the userChrome.css I used to use to disable the search bar expansion on focus no longer works (http://userchrome.wesleybranton.com/megabar). I disabled all urlbar.search options in about:config. But Firefox still gives me suggestions when I start typing about (as in about:config).

toolkit.legacyUserProfileCustomizations.stylesheets is set to true. The userChrome.css is inside the chrome folder inside the profile directory. I'm on 140.3.1esr (64-bit).

How do I disable this for good?

Thanks in advance!

Hello All,

Just noticed today my firefox search bar has changed. I'm on Ver 143.0.4

Before I could click on it and it would show my recent visited websites. Now it shows nothing unless I choose history from the down error however after I go to a website I no longer have the option to click in and see my history again. I need to open a new tab.

Any idea how I can change this back as It seems like a very bad feature.

Thanks

I want to delete just the recent searches or rather where it says duckduckgo suggestions, but I don't want to do it 1 by 1 (because that parts doable of google since it's 1 click on duckduckgo that differs) or just make it disappear but not delete. I just don't want them there.

Turning off "Show search suggestions" makes it disappear which isn't what I want. Is there a way to get rid of/ delete them in mass without just turning it off?

When I search something in the address bar, the first result is always pre-selected, meaning that if I hit "enter" it will be issued as can be seen in the first attached screenshot.

Whereas, when I search for tabs or actions it is not the case meaning I have to hit "tab" to first select the first result before being able to "enter", as seen in the second screenshot.

Is there a way to get the first behavior in the second case?

Thanks in advance.
