I've been having all sort of problems with our Mac Mini, running 10.8.5 and using Firefox as our browser. I think I've traced it down to an extension called BYD, which keeps reinstalling on startup even if I remove it from Firefox. I know that this is part of the spammy Best YouTube Downloader app but I can't figure out how to REALLY uninstall it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm using Mozilla Foxfire on a MacBook Pro with OS X Version 10.8.5. I can access my US bank, credit cards and other secure sites, but not SABB? how do i delete this Gamers Unite snag bar? From years ago when i was into facebook games but now i need to clean up my laptop for work and cant get this unprofessional looking thing unplastered from my browser head. Have spent hours going thru faqs & threads & found lots of people with the same problem but no solutions. It seems they disabled the bar app/program awhile back and now that ive updated my laptop all the program files are gone- but the bar is still stuck on my browser, so you cant even get to a point to attempt an uninstall/trash, ive searched thoroughly, theyre GONE, argh! Have tried contacting GamersUnite, Mac, Firefox & other tech help boards to no avail praying someone out there has a fix because i love Firefox & have it synced across all my devices but this is so bad it seems like ill have to switch browsers for work! Thank you for your help-- L (using newest version of firefox & OSX on macbook pro)

I am not tech literate. Sorry. But when i last updated Mozilla it eliminated my AOL (America On Line) toolbar. This toolbar had the locations of all my favorite places...bank, grocery store. etc. As a fix, I decided to try to use a toolbar I already have but rarely use. Cannot find instructions on how to customize the toolbar (take off all the unused buttons and add the ones I use a lot). I don't even know the name of this pre existing toolbar. It has a "Most visited" icon first.

Can someone tell me what this old toolbar is and tell me how to reconfigure so that it is able to take over for my very, VERY useful America On Line (AOL) toolbar?

Using the forward or back arrow buttons to visit a past or previous web page opens an annoying history menu. The only way to close it is to click outside of the menu once or outside of the menu on another link twice. How can this "feature" be turned off so that using the back or forward arrow no longer displays the history menu.

I have the Bell of Mindfulness -add-on. The idea is that the add-on plays a meditation bell sound after a certain time has passed. The trouble is that as the add-on activates as the timer reaches zero, there is an annoying bling-sound playing on top of the first strike of the meditation bell. I assume this bling is a sound to notify me that an add-on has been activated but in this case is merely annoying and counterproductive for this add-on. Is there a way to turn this sound off? There where some suggestions on the forum, but none worked or they were not applicable here. Turning off other add-ons does nothing.

Details: I get LOTS of emails - frankly, many more than I wish I received. I look at them when it is convenient to me. Yet Firefox has this really annoying habit of constantly interrupting what I'm doing to tell me that I have an email. It's not bad enough that I have to see a notice pop up. There is also a bell. Why doesn't Firefox have a really simple way of turning that feature off? Since I am a composer and use a big, sophisticated sound system, the bell isn't some little tinkly thing. It's a big, rompous noise. Yikes! I need therapy!!
