Discovered this when playing video in IMDb site.
When playing video in IMDb site the small blue rectangle that slides out when you hover over it is centred on the middle of the right hand edge of the video play back window. This is exactly where the right hand play next video white arrow > is situated as well. When you wish to play the next video it picks up Firefox new Picture in Picture toggle instead of the next video arrow >.

I think Firefox updated a day or so ago on my computer. Since then, when switching between tabs there are times when it takes several seconds to go to the tab I click on, and Firefox is locked up while I wait for the switch. Is this a known issue, and if so when might it be fixed?

For managing transport fare cards, we have multiple logins for the same web address, the user names are the card number. Haven't logged in for about 3 years after moving to rural. 1. I can only see 1 saved "login & password" in about:logins, for that address. (should be 2)
(Have an issue with resetting password for other account)
2. Trying to reset password for second account jumps to login page (with first account details auto-fill) 3. Entering username for second account inserts password from first account. Back in 2016 I am sure it was all working ok, (assuming accurate neural memory)
Q. Please confirm if FF saved logins works ok with multiple accounts for same web address.

I recently got a new computer and installed firefox. Every time the computer restarts, it wants me to log in for the sync feature ("Reconnect to Firefox Account" appears under options with an exclamation point). This did not happen on my old computer, so this is weird because all I've done is reinstalled firefox with the exact same settings/addons as before. This is my personal desktop computer so I don't want to have to re-log in every restart.

I'm running Firefox 71 on Linux. I notice that when I load a page into a new tab (either from middle-clicking links, or entering URL manually), Firefox UI is unresponsive for about 2 seconds. During that time, I'm unable to switch tabs--either by clicking, or with Ctrl+Tab. I tried restarting with all add-ons disabled, but the problem persists.
The problem disappears if i were to create a new temporary profile, though. So it's clear that something in my current profile is screwed up, but not sure what. Other things I've tried: quit Firefox, I vacuumed all `.sqlite` files in my profile; cleaned up all the cached images (not site data, though).
I'm keen to continue using my profile rather than create and setup a new one. Any help to trouble shoot this problem is appreciated.
Thanks.

Hey there,
today i used my browser completely normal, everything worked just fine. After i started doing my Windows Updates though and also updated my Anti Virus Software, Mozilla doesn't start anymore, I cant end the task/process either, not even via system32 cmd command (taskkill /IM firefox.exe /t /f) because it tells me that I don't have the necessary access to do that.
I need to fully restart my Computer to kill the process. When I start it in safe mode via windows+r run command (firefox -safe-mode) it started up once, and now it doesnt do that either.
I really don't know what exactly caused this and it started skyrocketing my blood pressure after I reinstalled it 4 times now and it still didn't working.

When I try to login to my account on U.S. Cellular, it immediately takes me to another page that says, "It's not you, it's us. An error has occurred, and we can't display this page right now." .. except that it isn't. I can get there fine using either Vivaldi or Google Chrome, but going to the login page with Firefox takes me right back to the error page. Though I have other browsers on my laptop, I'd rather not have to use them. What is going on with Firefox?

Hello everyone,
I have a similar problem to those mentioned in the discussions here...
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1274248

..but the solutions given there do not help me here I am afraid.
We use Firefox with automatic updates switched on, on 3 systems here - 2 Windows 7 and 1 Windows 10.
Firefox has updated to 71 on all 3 systems.
The Windows 10 installation went without a hitch, but the 2 Windows 7 systems have had problems, although one has resolved itself somehow.
Unfortunately the update on my Windows 7 laptop has not gone well.
Firefox has become unusable on this system since the Firefox 71 update.
Firefox keeps crashing every time that I try to run it, showing a Windows error box stating "Firefox has stopped working and need to close" message, along with the following crash info...
Problem signature: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: firefox.exe Application Version: 71.0.0.7275 Application Timestamp: 5de4f320 Fault Module Name: StackHash_312e Fault Module Version: 0.0.0.0 Fault Module Timestamp: 00000000 Exception Code: c0000005 Exception Offset: 000000006fff150a OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3 Locale ID: 2057 Additional Information 1: 312e Additional Information 2: 312e0f649e68df8b8010198c924de691 Additional Information 3: 2e28 Additional Information 4: 2e281e0f3e7e2e5b3bd20302d95cb119
I Cannot open in safe mode - it crashes immediately.
I have tried an uninstall/fresh install - still does not solve the problem.
I therefore have had to revert back to Firefox 70.0.1 to get it working again, and have had to switch off automatic updates until I can solve this problem.
Any help or advice would be much appreciated.
Thank you

Hello,
I visited my brother during the last week. His iMac was infected with some malware, and, because I have my own account in his computer with the same Apple-ID, also my computer got infected. I spoke with 6 senior technicians from the Europe Apple HQ in Cork / Ireland, but they have never seen such a resistant malware. In a word, I want to re-install the operating system and all applications in my computer. How can I save all my Bookmarks, History and all open Tabs+Windows of the last session, so that I can reload them in the Firefox I will install from scratch in the future? Thank you for for all your valuable work at Mozilla, and thank you for your specific support now, Adrian
Firefox will not load, doing a clean install of Firefox did not fix the problem. Doing a clean install with a fresh profile did not fix the problem either.

I have been having problems with firefox lately. Every time I try to run the program it automatically closes without giving an error message. I am running Windows 10 and this happens in safe mode as well. I have tried doing a clean install of firefox - that did not fix the problem. I tried deleting my profile after uninstalling then doing a fresh install, this did not fix the problem either. I ran a virus scan and did not detect any malware. I don't know what else to try.

I clicked the green "Automatically add" button for "Troubleshooting information:" just below this text box, and it took me to a dead page, and lost everything I had typed (yeah, rookie mistake on my part, fine)... the landing page address: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/downloads/latest/426841/addon-426841-latest.xpi ..

..... and continuing on for a bit after that.
basic problem is described in subject line. I could gripe endlessly about prior disclosure, and how appalling it is to see this problem persist over several versions, but mostly I'm curious how it does not seem to have been asked / answered yet?
I will upload screencaps if needed, but I am going to a banking website, entering UID & password, and telling FF to update the password. Not only does it not update for that UID, instead putting it into the "no username" storage for this website, but it is storing asterisks (in the same amount as the actual password) instead of the password. Yes, I clicked on the little "eye" next to the password field under Tools.Options.Privacy .. and yes, I tried trusting and just using the stored password both for the UID (it kept the old password) and also for the "no username" and neither works. I can update the password manually when under Tools.Options.Privacy, but I do not have the time nor inclination to do this for hundreds of logins.
This is entirely unacceptable, and needs to be fixed post haste.
Now copying and pasting everything I typed here, because I fully expect that I'll click "Post Question" and all will be lost...
FF 71.0 64bit updated 09 Dec 2019 - Win7 home 64 bit .. hardly any addins/plugins as the ones I used have mostly been deprecated through all the updates.
My profile along with stored passwords has been carried forward through at least three years of updates with no problems, prior to Quantum.

I have issues with my mousewheel so I like to press Middleclick to open this circle, in which I then move my mouse up or down to scroll. It's also called "Auto Scroll".
The trouble is, when you activate it on a link, it opens a new tab instead of activating auto scroll. So thats when I disabled that in about:config. I set browser.tabs.opentabfor.middleclick to false.
But not what it does is it opens a new window. And I don't know how to disable that.
Do any of you know a workaround? I know there are extensions for this but I really really like the basic Autoscroll.

Firefox has always made me feel happy. But I am having significant problems with Mac OS version 71.0.
I am running a macOS Catalina v 10.15.1 on a 3 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5; 16 GB 2400 MHz DDR4.
I am NOT having a performance issue. Instead, the browser is not responding as expected when given tasks.
1. It will not open a link in a new tab. The tab does not open and it's as if I never clicked on the menu item. Same with open in new window. 2. It will not open the default search engine from the URL bar. Instead, it responds as if I mistyped a URL. 3. It will not allow me to set a Default Search Engine. The option to do that in Preferences is a drop-down arrow that does nothing when clicked. 4. It will not allow me to Remove an add-on. Usually issues with Firefox are related to add-ons, but when I Remove an add-on, then restart Firefox, the add-on is still there. 5. (silly, minor issue) I'd like the tab bar to be dark, again. The white tabs are too bright! I know this is silly, but you asked...
I did run Firefox in safe mode and all of the same problems continue to occur. I did reinstall FF v. 71.0 and all of the same problems continue to occur.
Help. Please.
Why is downloading something at 2.0MB/s creating 30% CPU load on a 2.2Ghz i7 processor?
Seems excessive. So thought to flag it.

I can't open Files from Firefox on a Windows Terminal Server. Whenever I try to open a downloaded file by clicking on it (or specifying "open with" on the download Dialog) nothing gets opened and no errors are shown.
Usually it opens the default program specified in Windows but on 2 Terminal Servers nothing opens.
What I tried so far:
- Check filetype associations in Windows and testet it on a cmd and the windows explorer: works as expected
- Try with different Windows Users: Problem is present across different windows users
- Try with a new firefox profile: Same problem
- Try with firefox.exe -safe-mode: Same problem
- Try resetting handlers.json (by moving from the Firefox installation directory)
Do you have any ideas how to investigate this further?
I know that it worked previously. Could this be caused by a Update of Firefox?
