I searched the forums, and it appears this issue has answers going back 12 years.

Answers explain how to get it to show up again. Basically, it amounts to turning the bar off and back on again.

The problem is it WILL happen again. Why? It's been 12 years and no explanation as to why it happens or how to fix it permanently.

None of the Firefox updates over the years have addressed this either.

Hi, all of my bookmarks, years' worth that I have never had an issue with before, have suddenly disappeared. Backups do not seem to be available. How do I get them back? I did not do anything out of the ordinary and I don't know if (an unasked for) update occurred and wiped them.

Since the last update of Firefox, I now have to right-click and select "alway Show" the Bookmarks Toolbar. Then it disappears when I go to a site!!! Please tell me this is a glitch and you'll fix it soon because the toolbar always shiowes uder the search bar and this right-click-select is really anoying. I use a MacBook Pro runig Sonoma 14.3.1..... thx for your promp attention BZ

Something is not working for my syncing data for my new computer coming from my older one that was working fine....none of those bookmarks are around, no matter where I look, I cannot find all of my highly needed bookmarks that I have had for years...all gone. I need some help please. Thanks.

This morning, my Firefox browser was unable to open so I downloaded it again and tried to sync up my browser using my email address. When I used my email address and reset the password, a much older version of my browser without all my bookmarks logged in. I've only use the *hidden for privacy*@gmail.com email address so I'm not sure if I have two profiles under that email. On my phone which has been sync'd to my profile for years, I have all the bookmarks that I've been using for year. I don't want to sync it now so I don't loose it.

My bookmarks have duplicated and I didn't do anything except try to sync with my laptop and desktop. I tried the only solution I could find, the "verify integrity - Places Database" and that did nothing. If this can't be fixed, it's time to move on to another browser.

After re-installing Firefox, my Bookmarks are gone. I could reinstall them as I go along, but my Folders (used to organize) are also gone. Worse: I cannot seem to figure out how to re-create folders or move those Bookmarks I have. Any suggestions.

How to reach a site used in the past (whether typed URL or used saved Bookmark!) ---but now Firefox won't let me access now, please?! I have some sites for decorating my online gaming site. Your settings warn me that the site isn't ---https://. --- which I realize, and FIREFOX stops me from going to the site. How do I temporarily use a site, then restore the security? I appreciate how FIREFOX keeps us safe! TY!

When I access bookmarks using the manager/editor I see all bookmarks. However when I try to use bookmarks from the dropdown in the toolbar, I only see some bookmarks. I think it's the newer bookmarks that are missing but not certain.

Hi. Not so much as a bug report but a feature request. I am attempting to add the same URL to two separate bookmark folders on my bookmark toolbar so that I may have a better chance of finding it in six months when I'm likely to need to visit that website again. The reason is that the website in question fits neatly in terms of subject into two of my folders.

At present in Firefox, if you place a URL in a bookmark folder then try to place it again in a separate folder then Firefox appears to remove the URL from the first bookmark folder and place it in the second. It would be handy for Firefox to either just accept the second placing or display a dialogue box pointing out that the URL already exists in another folder and asking if the user wants to a) move the URL to the place where the user tried to place a new bookmark, or b) go ahead and place a duplicate in the newer folder c) cancel the request.

I'm a long term user / fan of Firefox and have no intention of moving browsers. This functionality would be very useful. Hoping you can action this in the next update.
