Trying to bookmark a pdf, it's on the same location across my devices, but my devices have different usernames, so I added "%userprofile%" to the filepath so that it opens on any device. The issue is that when I enter this into the Bookmark URL bar, it automatically sticks "25" next to the % characters, which makes the bookmark unusable.

"C:\Users\%userprofile%\Documents\example.pdf" automatically becomes "file:///C:/Users/%25userprofile%25/Documents/example.pdf"

Also, as I just discovered now when I pasted this URL into this post, a second "25" is inserted, becoming: "file:///C:/Users/%2525userprofile%2525/Documents/example.pdf"

I searched the forums, and it appears this issue has answers going back 12 years.

Answers explain how to get it to show up again. Basically, it amounts to turning the bar off and back on again.

The problem is it WILL happen again. Why? It's been 12 years and no explanation as to why it happens or how to fix it permanently.

None of the Firefox updates over the years have addressed this either.

Thank you, Firefox, for rendering the Bookmarks completely dysfunctional for all but the simplest of users. I have thousands of bookmarks well organized in folders and sub-folders. Now I cannot reach the bookmarks in the sub-folders beyond the first fly-out because it never shifts the mouse focus to the fly-out sub-folder. This is a CRITICAL ISSUE that makes trying to use my carefully compiled bookmarks nearly impossible. HELP!!!

Good day. I just noticed that saving a bookmark to an Amazon page shows the full address in the title of the bookmark now, instead of the description of the page. I checked and this does not happen on other sites, like YouTube, where the video title is still given correctly. This make it very hard to find the bookmarked Amazon items. Thank you for your help. Love Firefox! PS: I'm a Firefox "Power User" when it comes to Bookmarks. I have over 8000 bookmarks and regularly back them up. I downloaded version 101.0.1 and lost most of my bookmark TAGS! These help me find things in my many bookmarks. I've kept version 98.0.1 in my Applications folder (MAC Mojave 10.14.6) and it still has all my TAGS intact. I can't copy / paste or drag and drop them. How can I transfer my bookmarks TAGS?

I have met this issue twice. Before I retired my old PC, I did click the "sync now". However, when I login in Firefox in my new PC, I found the bookmarks are very very out of date. Because my old PC was formatted, I lost my latest bookmarks in Firefox.

Could you help with this?

How do I disable the tool bars above the address bar? I've tried everything I have found on the internet but I must be missing something. Having all the links open may be slowing the computer down. thanks,

Bookmark details for my bookmarks are suddenly missing. I still see the list of bookmark folders, and within each folder I still see the list of bookmark names. But the navigation details (i.e., URLs) for each bookmark are nowhere to be seen. Nothing happens when I click on a bookmark.

What could have happened? Is there a way to recover that information? (Unfortunately I don't have an up-to-date bookmark backup.)

The dozens of bookmarks I had that I did not put in folders has grown in numbers exponentially. I don't know how. I had nothing to do with it. I went from having about 200 bookmarks (outside of what I had in separate folders) to what seems to be roughly 5000. This is ridiculous. How can I 1, correct this, and 2, stop if from happening again.

Hi, I had not used bookmarks for some time and when I did...most of my bookmarks are missing and what is there is a mess. What happened and how do I or you fix this?

The last two upgrades caused me to lose all of my bookmarks. I am running version 106.0.2 on a 64 bit hp desktop. Am I doing something wrong? Pretty basic download/upgrade. I am no longer taking upgrades until I can get answer(s)

I use to have the bookmarks show up on the left side of the screen at all times when I opened Firefox. Now, for some reason, I have to go to the bookmarks in the help area to find what I am looking for. How do I have the sorted bookmarks show up on the left again?

I have note as have MANY others that bookmarks do not hold their place and randomly revert to the top of the list when the list is reacquired.

There have now been several updates to Firefox without a fix to this problem that requires immediate attention.

WHY hasn't this been addressed when many have complained about it?

I had all my bookmarks saved on Firefox on my laptop, and I bought a new laptop, and signed in to Firefox, and I thought that all my bookmarks would automatically populate onto my new laptop's Firefox browser. Am I mistaken that that is a feature that it has? If not, how can I make that happen.

Please help me get my bookmarks back. I've tried all of the suggestions that I understand. There's one that says to go select a file, but it doesn't say where the file is ...

This is my work computer, I need my bookmarks and login information.
