The latest update of Firefox, 37.0.2, will no longer work with our ERP system. It tell us:

The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.

But our site does in fact have a valid Go-Daddy certificate. Even though this site is internal and behind our firewall and not visible to the outside world we choose to connect using SSL. Internet Explorer shows the certificate chain and also shows:

This certificate is OK.

I use to like Firefox better than IE but now I think the best course of action is to remove Firefox and never use it again. I do not need to deal with this kind of garbage.

In our organization we are using a firewall which has an Intrusion Prevention System. The IPS has a certificate which must be imported into the browsers to be able to load SSL websites. This allows the IPS to inspect the contents of secure packets for any malware or viruses. The problem is this isn't working very well with Firefox. Most secure sites bring up one of the following errors:

Secure Connection Failed The connection to <website> was interrupted while the page was loading. The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.

OR

Secure Connection Failed An error occurred during a connection to <website>. SSL peer rejected a handshake message for unacceptable content. (Error code: ssl_error_illegal_parameter_alert) The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get Firefox to work in this environment?

The new Firefox quantum 57, has got an incredibly serious problem that must be understood and resolved.

I use a touchscreen, and with my touchscreen on previous versions of Firefox, I use it to select text on webpages and I use the scroll bar to the right to scroll the webpage.

Now when I touch a webpage, it simply drags the page up and down and I have no ability whatsoever to select text and I do not want clicking and dragging on a webpage to scroll the page but instead to select text.

Also I notice that seemingly randomly but under certain conditions the right-click shortcut menu displays when that is not even the intent. Rather than letting the operating system display it when I click and hold the point on the screen for a few seconds.

This is a huge usability and accessibility problem. This is an absolute disaster with the consequence of that change that has been made.

You need to realize the incredible stupidity of what you have done to destroy to the functionality of the browser. And I do not want to be told how to modify I use the browser. I need the functionality restored the way it was before.

I cannot even double click on a word on a webpage to select it like in previous versions of Firefox. I cannot even do my work anymore. This browser is totally completely unacceptable and unusable by me and I am sure as others as well. You should realize the incredibly serious consequence of what you have done.

Last week I downloaded Windows 10. Since then my Internet connection has slowed from the 30 mbps I pay for down to 1 mbps. I have made sure all my drivers are up to date, updated and performed a full scan with my anti-spyware/anti-malware software, and performed all the disconnections of sharing that I can think of. Is there some way to restore my Internet speed? This is regarding Wi-fi speed, and all other devices in our home on Wi-fi (which are still on Windows 8) are performing at full Internet speed.

On my corporate intranet, there are a couple of internal systems with web interfaces that generate the sec_error_reused_issuer_and_serial error. Every resource on mozilla.org and other sites that I have found lists only two options: 1. get the admin of the site to fix the problem, or 2. temporarily add an exception

Even the Mozilla support article specifically about this error message is not helpful: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Certificate%20contains%20the%20same%20serial%20number%20as%20another%20certificate

I have asked the exact same question here and the question was closed without an answer as well: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/996094

Nowhere have I been able to find information regarding a permanent exception. I understand that ideally, for a public website, the long term fix will be for the website admin to fix the problem, however there must be a way to permanently add an exception in Firefox to completely ignore this error message. I already tried deleting the "cert8.db" file and this has not resolved the problem. I am not interested in any temporary exceptions or temporary resolutions; I am specifically asking how to permanently ignore this error message.

Thanks.

I was working in my online class tonight and decided to take a break. I logged out for 10 minutes and when I tried to log back in I keep getting a message that Firefox has "blocked" the site for security reasons. I have used Firefox to access my online classes for the past seven years and now all of a sudden the school's website is a "security risk"! If this problem is not resolved quickly, I have no alternative but to remove Firefox and use another browser.

I had to create a new account on the forum to post this question as I can't get my old login to work.

Anyone else having this problem or has Firefox been hacked and my "User Name" sent to someone else?

Firefox goes into offline mode on a regular basis - not always, but usually several times per day. I've already set network.manage-offline-status to false (actually, it was already set that way when I checked it). It appears to happen more when I move off of a tab and then come back to it. I've uninstalled and wiped all traces for Firefox and re-installed - same result.

How can this mode be completely disabled?

We've launched our new website this week, and we're getting some 'content corrupted error' in Firefox. It's not at every time, but close to 40%. The other browsers are fine.

I saw posts about duplicate headers, but I haven't seen any.

I tried enabling HTTP log (https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Debugging/HTTP_logging), but I couldn't see anything that could help me figure out which part of Firefox doesn't like.

The website is https://www.longueuil.quebec

Any idea?

Hi All,

We are experiencing an issue with random intermittent Mozilla Proxy Authentication prompts. We are running Mozilla firefox in a Windows domain and using a clearswift proxy server. I've tried a large number of configuration changes with Firefox but still get these annoying prompts. This obviously looks bad to our user base. We do not suffer the same issues with IE11 or Google Chrome.

Please can anyone help before we look to remove this software and go for an alternative browser?

Many Thanks,

Kirk

The company that I work with uses a company web that is hosted by a SBS 2008 Server. I can access the companyweb with chrome or safari, but Firefox does not work. The other two come up with a white screen and then a authentication box comes down to ask for your credentials. Firefox does not do this. It just has a white screen. It is not just my computer that is doing this. It seems to be all Macs that have Firefox. What is also weird is that Firefox for Windows works fine.

  1. Problem: #

We have difficulty trying to connect to our server using a browser. Google Chrome can connect, but Mozilla Firefox cannot. This problem is related to the "Weak Diffie-Hellman and the Logjam Attack" (https://weakdh.org/)

  1. Activity log, sequence of actions we have conducted to try and fix the problem, and things we already know: #
1. Everything was fine
2. Firefox complained about the Weak Diffie-Hellman ephemeral key
3. Firefox can no longer access our server
4. But, Google Chrome CAN STILL access
5. Found out about "Weak Diffie-Hellman and the Logjam Attack"
6. Tested Firefox using their website, and responded "Good News! Your browser is safe against the Logjam attack."
7. Tested Chrome using their website, and it responded that Chrome was vulnerable.
8. This explained why we could still access our server using Chrome
9. Updated Chrome to the latest version.
10. Tested Chrome using weakdh.org, and responded "Good News! Your
browser is safe against the Logjam attack."
11. Tried accessing our site using Chrome, and it has the same error
    with Firefox.
12. Both Chrome and Firefox can no longer access the site at this
    point.
13. We followed the instruction located at
    https://weakdh.org/sysadmin.html for Apache Tomcat servers.

`ciphers="TLS_ECDHE_RSA_WITH_AES_128_GCM_SHA256,TLS_ECDHE_ECDSA_WITH_AES_128_GCM_SHA256,TLS_ECDHE_RSA_WITH_AES_256_GCM_SHA384,TLS_ECDHE_ECDSA_WITH_AES_256_GCM_SHA384,TLS_DHE_RSA_WITH_AES_128_GCM_SHA256,TLS_DHE_DSS_WITH_AES_128_GCM_SHA256,TLS_ECDHE_RSA_WITH_AES_128_SHA256,TLS_ECDHE_ECDSA_WITH_AES_128_SHA256,TLS_ECDHE_RSA_WITH_AES_128_SHA,TLS_ECDHE_ECDSA_WITH_AES_128_SHA,TLS_ECDHE_RSA_WITH_AES_256_SHA384,TLS_ECDHE_ECDSA_WITH_AES_256_SHA384,TLS_ECDHE_RSA_WITH_AES_256_SHA,TLS_ECDHE_ECDSA_WITH_AES_256_SHA,TLS_DHE_RSA_WITH_AES_128_SHA256,TLS_DHE_RSA_WITH_AES_128_SHA,TLS_DHE_DSS_WITH_AES_128_SHA256,TLS_DHE_RSA_WITH_AES_256_SHA256,TLS_DHE_DSS_WITH_AES_256_SHA,TLS_DHE_RSA_WITH_AES_256_SHA"`

14. Fix did not work both for Chrome and Firefox, still the same error.
15. We followed the instruction at

16. Fix WORKED for Chrome BUT NOT for Firefox.
17. Firefox has error code: ssl_error_bad_cert_alert
18. We experimented on lesser number of ciphers but none worked
19. `ciphers="TLS_ECDHE_RSA_WITH_AES_128_CBC_SHA256,TLS_ECDHE_RSA_WITH_AES_128_CBC_SHA,TLS_RSA_WITH_AES_128_CBC_SHA256,TLS_RSA_WITH_AES_128_CBC_SHA"`

I'm experiencing the exact same problem described here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1047223?fpa=1 https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1135282

I've tested Firefox 38.4 (ESR), and 42.0 (current release at time of writing).

To summarise, when hitting a website that takes a long time (> 20 secs or so) to send its response, Firefox will silently abort the request. That is, the progress spinner in the top left stops, no Timeout error page is displayed, and whatever was displayed in the Firefox content window at the time of the request will remain there. To check the behavior, navigate to: http://www.jeffersonscher.com/res/sleep120.php

Other tested browsers (Edge 13, IE11, Chrome 47, Firefox ESR 31) will wait 120 seconds, then render the text "Slept 120 seconds before generating HTML".

I've toyed with a variety of about:config network timeout settings to try and overcome the issue, with no luck. Hopefully a contributor will be able to repro using the provided link.

If you're registered and can repro the above, please +1 so the defect isn't closed like it was last time :)
