The option "always open similar files" is not shown in the downloaded file context menu. This occurs on 2 machines running Windows 7 64 bit. A third machine also running Windows 7 64 bit shows it correctly. All three machines have Firefox 98.0.1 installed.

Please advise how to resolve this.

I recently installed a theme that I really like, but the search bar by default is a blinding white color and it contrasts heavily with the dark blue colors in the theme I picked.

Is there a way for me to edit the background color and text color of the search bar to be a different color? I've tried looking at different solutions and most of them make reference to userchrome or something else I have absolutely no idea how to work. Can someone explain to me, in the most simple and hard to get wrong terms as humanly possible, how to change the background and text color in the search bar? Is this something I edit the theme itself for? How do I do that?

Thanks in advance. Attached image shows the part of the browser I'm talking about if it somehow wasn't clear enough. I'd like to turn the white color into, say, dark blue or gray, and change the text color to a light blue or white.

For most extensions, there is an option to enable them in private windows; for both Multi-Account Containers and Temporary Containers, however, they cannot be used in private tabs with no option to allow them to. Is there any reason for this, and any way I can bypass the missing toggle?

My macbook is a 2019 16", running Monterey 12.3.1, and has the touch ID sensor on the top right of the keyboard. I love having it for all my log-ins, but can only make it work in Safari. When I look online I'm told to go into settings> privacy > and then just choose the toggle to turn it on. My version of Firefox (which says it's up to date) does not have that option in the Privacy and Security section of settings. Any thoughts? I'd rather use Firefox than Safari, but that is a HUGE feature to me. Thanks!

Recently, sites that use semi-colons instead of ampersands in their URLs have stopped working in Firefox 99.0.1 for me.

I suspect an add-on may have been recently updated, since those sites still work when I run them in a new private window. Is there an easy way to track down which add-on might be rewriting the URL?

Hello everyone :)

From a folder, I have loads of Firefox profiles from different eras. I am looking for a way to export all the bookmarks of each of the profiles to an HTML file like the manual method (Library > Import and backup > Export bookmarks to formal HTML), but all in an automatic way by script. I like the HTML export from Firefox because it allows you to quickly navigate using keywords, either in links or in the folder names I gave.

Is there a simple solution that would reuse, for example, the same export code as Firefox ?

Thanks in advance With adelphity estebann

I bring up yahoo mail in firefox, enter my userid and password, then verification methods appear. However, the verification methods are unreadable. Boxes where the verification would normally appear are blank, white. I open google chrome and they are readable. What setting in firefox needs to be restored to make these verification options readable? This issue just started in the last hour in firefox.

When I click on a "mailto" link, Firefox (my default browser) opens a new tab, then immediately close that tab without waiting for my to interact with it. No draft email is created. I see that other users have reported this behavior in the past, and I've tried the suggested remedies without success. Specifically, I ran Malwarebytes, and it found no threats. I then started Firefox (on the Mac) via the Option key (to start it without ad-ons), and that does not change the behavior. I'm on ver 99.0.1 of FF, which is up to date as of 4/20/2022 (today). My Mac OS is also up to date (ver 12.3.1). My Mac is a 2021 MacBookPro with the Apple M1 Pro chip. I use gmail. OTHER BROWSER (like Safari and Chrome) can open "mailto" links in a new tab in FF (which is my default browser, and used for mailto links) just fine! Here is an example of the URL that I see in a new FF tab opened via Chome: https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/?fs=1&tf=cm&source=mailto&su=Cover+of+the+River+Journal&to=Steve+Mones%3Cstevenmones@optonline.net%3E Any help would be appreciated. - Thanks, Jim

I realize that you all don't support the older version. Yet it's also the case that Apple won't update this El Capitan on my 2008 model (terrible, a crying shame, I know).

I've also tried to install your Extended Support Release. Will that work? I'm an independent research scholar, not currently associated with either Oxford or Stanford.

So I really need to have your Firefox back — I had it until this morning, when I needed to trash it (b/c of a bug), and then re-install. Yet I've not been able to re-install so far.

Hence, I'm seeking your help!

Thank you, Davy

If I have Mozilla Firefox open for a period of time, if posting a link, or refreshing it's as if there is no internet connection.

Web links in other tabs have no problem, only Tumblr.

Closing out the tab which Tumblr is in and opening a new tab and inserting the link produces the same result as if there's no internet connection.

The only way so far to rectify the problem is to close out Firefox, then restart. There also seems to be a delay in Firefox closing. When I click on the Firefox icon to open it, a pop-up appears that Firefox is already running, would you like to close it?
