I recently logged out of Firefox and cannot log back in because the process requires an authenticator app, which I have no clue which would work. I have MS Authenticator and Google Authenticator but neither of them bring up any codes sent from Firefox. What on earth can I do? Delete my account and then create a new account with that same email again? However, I can't do that, because I can't login! I'm presently login with another email address, which is how I am posting on this forum. Thanks for your help.

I have learned to depend on Firefox and Thunderbird, and do not trust any of the commercial options. My solid old desk computer is a Dell that uses Windows 7. Are you now telling me that I am being deserted because I don't have more modern equipment? Even though I am willing to continue to make my annual contributions......sending checks to Mozilla for both Firefox and for Thunderbird? If so, I am in a panic, for I do not trust Google and the social media. Only clean and simple email communications.

Isn't there away to continue using Firefox (perhaps the same tried and true Firefox, and just forgo the continuous modernization and newer versions? Sharon Kroeger, [removed a Lot of personal information like addresses and phone#'s from public support forum] Regards, SDK

Hello, I am using firefox 83.0 and I don't want to update it (Why? Because I've an old PC with poor hardware and the playback of online videos is lagging/shuttering in releases after 83.0)

BUT firefox 83.0 doesn't support private fields which make some webpages unable to be loaded. the private fields was supported starting in release 90.0 and I'm using 83.0

So, I need a way to make firefox 83.0 support private fields, Is that possible? Is there a certain files should I edited or replaced to make it support private fields?

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Using YouTube for example...

Previously, when I bookmarked a page/video (URL), if the newly bookmarked page (URL) had previously been visited, the bookmark would be displayed in the Sidebar (or Toolbar) with a typical "YouTube Play Button" icon (favicon). But, if the newly bookmarked page (URL) has never been visited, then the bookmark would be displayed in the Sidebar (or Toolbar) with a default "Globe" icon (favicon).

I almost always create bookmarks by dragging links/URLs from the browser client area to a folder in the bookmarks list in the sidebar (and sometimes/rarely, to a folder on the Bookmarks Toolbar). But the same happens if I manually create a new bookmark to a "Visited" or "Un-visited" page.

Recently, this behavior just changed "without notice"...

Now, when I drag a link/URL from a the "Recommended videos column" on the right side of a YouTube page/video, to the bookmarks list in the sidebar, the bookmark is ALWAYS displayed in the Sidebar (or Toolbar) with a typical "YouTube Play Button" icon (favicon), regardless of whether the page had previously been visited, or not. Also, existing bookmarks for un-visited pages that were previously created, and were previously displayed in the Sidebar (or Toolbar) with a default "Globe" icon (favicon), are now displayed in the Sidebar (or Toolbar) with a typical "YouTube Play Button" icon (favicon).

How can I bring back the previous behavior of displaying bookmarks of un-visited pages/URLs in the Sidebar (or Toolbar) with a default "Globe" icon (favicon)?

I want to use a command option to open a new blank tab in a specified portable instance of Firefox using a specified profile.

I constructed my command like this:

"Path-to-Firefox-executable" -profile "Path-to-Profile" -new-tab "about:blank"

It partially works (it opens the correct instance of Firefox and uses the correct specified profile) however it always opens about:newtab instead of about:blank.

Seeing as I am specifying the exact page to open, any New Tab settings in the browser should not matter, and I should just get the page that has been specified in the command.

If I manually type about:blank into the url bar, then a blank page opens as expected, so the url is correct, it just won't work for me as part of the above command line.

Does anybody else have this issue? How can I get this to work correctly?
