If I check the "save passwords" checkbox, when I shutdown and restart, the checkmark is gone and the saved passwords no longer function. I have to recheck the box after every startup. The passwords are not lost -- they simply don't work.

I suspect I will be able to use the sidebar to organize my bookmarks, just like organize bookmarks used to work, now that I have found this out. But, it took me many tries over a month, to get the answer, and about 20 minutes just now. So, this is just a complaint. Why did you change the way such an important features works. Why does it make sense?

In the older version if you clicked on a tab and dragged it to the area directly above the tab, then a button was created. I want to make buttons or preset links in the newer version. Is such a feature or add on available?

Trying to backup my bookmarks but the organize bookmarks is missing. Have seen where it was changed in ff4 but nothing on ff5, help please. OS W7-FEBE(doesn't work) FF5

I am using 3.6 because I like how it spreads out my toolbars instead of just giving me the bookmarks in the corner and the lonesome firefox in the opposite corner. I know I can open the bookmark toolbar but it is not the same. I want the file, edit, view, history, bookmarks, tools, help toolbar across. How can I get the new firefox to do that

I updated from 5.0 to 6.0 Everything else seems okay. But, when I click my Tools button then click onto my Adds-on button it should take me to my manager page for my adds-on. but it never downloads. It goes to the page and just sits there thinking and never finishes downloading. So now I cannot manage my add-ons.

Upgraded to v.6.0.1 but always opens in http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/4.0.1/firstrun/.

How can I clear the message that this is not the latest version?

I've uninstalled and reinstalled from fresh download but message still appears. Problem is only on one user account on my laptop - the other is up to date with no error message.

Whenever a new page is opened, the history sidebar is too, showing all the sites I had visited. My Firefox version is up to date 6.0.2 and I'm using Windows 7.

So my XP computer's power supply died a few weeks ago so I got a new computer. Just replaced the powersupply in the old PC to get my old files. I tried to back up my Firefox profile from my old computer to the new Windows 7 computer, which I've had running Firefox for about a week. When I loaded my backed up profile and restarted Firefox, it seems to have reverted to the style of the old Firefox, or at least the current version that was running on my XP computer. How can I keep my old profile, with the new look of Firefox that I've grown to love over the past week??

I have had firefox for over a year and I recently installed it on my aunts computer. When I did in the upper left hand corner there was an orange box that said firefox on it. I recently re-installed it on to my computer and it is still the same as I had before. (Just the firefox symbol) How do I get the most recent version? It does say that I have the 6.2 or whatever the most recent is. Thank you in advance for the timely response to my question.

One of the reason for using firefox was its ability to be up and ready to use very quickly (I was one of the earliest users. )Now Google and dare I say it int explorer seem to have the edge

has anyone used spellbound 4.0 with the new version of fire fox? i keep firefox 3.6 because it allows me to use the spellbound spell checker. i find that spell checker works good for me. and when i try to upgrade to a newer version of firefox the spellbound program will not work.

when i try to install firefox again it says the computer must be restarted to finish uninstalling previous version, but when rebooted and tried again it says the same thing, What do I do?

Every time the download manager opens Firefox freezes. It does this in safe mode with all addons and extensions turned off. It does not appear to report a crash in about:crashes. I have the most recent version of all addons, extensions, Windows, and Firefox. Once I restart Firefox the item will download fine as long as the download manager is not opened. If it is opened it will freeze without 1 second without fail.

I have the checkboxes in Options.security checked to block phishing and malware sites. But test pages are not blocked. How should I proceed?

I am running FF 7.0.1.

I can't get Firefox to open and stay open. The Firefox opens then immediately closes are bring up the crash reporter dialog
