Hi,

I am implementing passkeys for my website (navigator.credentials.create). For testing purposes, I created passkey with a displayName (publicKey.user.displayName) of "5" . Everything words like a charm on my desktop.

Now, on my firefox Android app, it always suggests to use that credential. However as I deleted it on the server, I also want to delete it in the app.

How can I do so?

Thank you Daniel

I'm running Windows 11 and links to html files from the Twitter app always open in MS Edge, not in Firefox, which is set as my default application. I checked in the preferred app dialog and found that firefox is set as preferred browser for almost all applications. Interestingly, when I manually copied one of the troublesome links (which Twitter had encoded as a random string) into firefox, it worked fine.

I don't know if the problem is in Windows 11 or the Twitter app. Any suggestions to keep my connections on Firefox would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

On my Linux box, I've noticed that with a downloaded file, if it goes into tmp, when the file is being moved to the final location on an SMB share, the copy is relatively very slow.

So for example, I start a download; if I'm slow finding the location for the file to end up in, so that the download completes first, once I specify the final location, the copy from the tmp location to the final location goes very slow. The final location is always on a network share. It looks like it happens at around 80Mbps.

When I just do test copies from local to the same mount point from a file manager, those copies run at around 600Mbps. So it seems like something happening with Firefox specifically when it's moving a download from the tmp location. Any ideas on what might be causing it/what I can do to get that copy to happen faster? I run into it fairly frequently, so it's something of an ongoing annoyance.

Thanks!

Hi Forum Folke,

This switch from Windows to Linux has been mostly disastrous, with my exported Tbird profile zipfile turning out to be corrupt and not openable, and now I can't import my saved bookmarks file either. I can open it and read the list, I can even open it in Firefox and click on any link in there and it opens in Firefox, but they simply will NOT import.

If I understand the process correctly, go to bookmarks > manage bookmarks > Import and Backup, "Import bookmarks from html..." If I click on this, it opens the file manager, and I navigate to my backup drive and click on the "bookmarks_3_24_23.html" file, then click on "open." This *should* start the import process, and then they should show up in my bookmarks, no? What it does is exactly nothing at all. The window freezes for a moment (unresponsive to any clicks), then does respond to clicks, but there are no imported bookmarks anywhere.

If I enable the bookmarks toolbar, the first button is "Import bookmarks," and if I click on that, it just tells me "No programs that contain bookmarks, history, .... can be found."

I tried dragging and dropping the file into a new tab, and it added "bookmarks_3_24_23..." to the bookmarks toolbar. I can click on it and the list opens in the tab, and I can scroll down and find and open links... but that's obtuse and awkward. I'd much rather have Firefox import the bookmarks and display them normally.

What am I missing here? I've done this before without any issues, doing exactly the same things, but this time it's a no-go. I'm starting to wonder if I've just got a buggy install of Linux ( Linux Mint 20.1 Ulyssa with the Cinnamon 4.8.6 desktop.)

Just went to get the current version of Firefox, and noticed that it's saying: "Updates disabled by your system administrator." Think this would apply to importing bookmarks as well?? Anyway, the version is "Firefox for Linux Mint mint-001 - 1.0" up at the top of the "about" window, and below that is "111.0 (64-bit)."

Any ideas are very much appreciated!

Not sure if this is something everyone experiences but every time Firefox updates on my computer, the password manager goes back to default settings and starts prompting to save passwords again. I have disabled the darn thing countless times, but it always comes back alive after the browser restarts after an update. Why does this setting does not persists after an update and stays disabled? I have a Firefox account, and sync is on.

There is a wave of malware targeting authentication cookies stored on disk (e.g. recent LTT hack). It has become obvious that malware doesn't need to target stored passwords to get access to a site/account. Primary Password has solved this problem, but only for the stored passwords. The stored cookies are just as exposed as the stored passwords were, provide access to sites/accounts and bypass 2FA checks because they bypass normal login protocols.

Primary password should secure the stored cookies as well. When is this going to be implemented?

Thanks!

I just started a windows 10 computer. When I try to go to google drive, I get this message:

____________________________ Did Not Connect: Potential Security Issue. Firefox detected a potential security threat and did not continue to drive.google.com because this website requires a secure connection. drive.google.com has a security policy called HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS), which means that Firefox can only connect to it securely. You can’t add an exception to visit this site. The issue is most likely with the website, and there is nothing you can do to resolve it. If you are on a corporate network or using antivirus software, you can reach out to the support teams for assistance. You can also notify the website’s administrator about the problem. ____________________________

I also got this kind of message when logging into outlook, but I was able to click the override button to login.

I had some problems with Firefox and in the course of fixing things my 1Password extension disappeared.

I'm using an older version of the 1Password extension and have used it for many years, and the extension was working fine in my Win 11 computer before my "fix" of Firefox caused it to disappear. But I still have the 1Password extension executable, so I ran that and 1Password showed up in Firefox - sort of.

The regular 1Password icon looks something like a door's lock, but that lock symbol has been replaced by something that looks more like a puzzle piece. When I click on that puzzle piece I get see the window showed in the 1st image and when I put my mouse pointer in that window I'm asked to "run" the extension as shown in the 2nd image. The 1Password extension works fine but I don't understand why I'm seeing an icon that I didn't used to see and being required to "run" the extension instead of simply clicking on the icon.
