Hello All,

I'm using Firefox 102.12.0esr (64-bit) on MX-Linux 21.3. Is it possible to have Firefox display the Menu Bar in fullscreen mode?

I have added

:root[inFullscreen] #PersonalToolbar {

visibility: visible !important;

}

to userChhrome.css which is great, it makes the bookmarks toolbar show when in fullscreen, but I don't know what to use for the Menu Bar. Perhaps something in about:config? When in fullscreen and I right click up the top near the Tab bar, Menu Bar is checked but doesn't show. There are things that don't appear in the 3 line menu on the top right that do appear in the Menu Bar's menus that I'd like access to in fullscreen mode.

Thanks

I have moved from Centos Linux to Rocky Linux and could not play Perron FM on onlineradiobox.com whereas I could on an Ubuntu Linux machine. It turned out I had to install ffmpeg (dnf ffmpeg) on the OS to support the right codec. The error was (in Firefox developer view, F12): HTTP “Content-Type” of “audio/aac” is not supported. Load of media resource https://onlineradiobox.com/json/za/perronfm/play?platform=web failed. Hope this helps someone.

It looks like Firefox’s DevTools, both the Network tab and profiler, don’t show the server response time when there is a Service Worker involved. Everything is shown at 0ms.

Is that expected and is there any way around it?

The attached screenshot shows the Network tab in the DevTools. All times in the timeline column are shown at 0ms, and all requests have transited via the service worker.

I've disabled anti-aliasing using the about:config option:

gfx.text.disable-aa: true

However, when I do this, the font letters becomes visually inconsistent. Some strokes are one pixel in width, others two pixels. The letter 'o' becomes squashed on the right hand side for example. I've attached a screenshot.

I presume this is because when aa is disabled, font hinting becomes disabled as well. I would like to be able disable aa and keep font hinting enabled.

I like to disable aa because I have below average eye sight and I prefer to display text fonts with hard edges because I find it easier to read.

I'm on Linux, so ClearType options aren't available.

I've tried all the other fonts, they all come out with the same issue (displayed in that font of course).

I have the same issue described here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1387715. However, the accepted solution was not the answer for my situation, since the ownership of the ~/.local/share/ directory was correct on my system.

In my case the slow start-up resulted from the xdg-desktop-portal-gtk service failing to start because of DISPLAY setting issue. This was a difficult issue to debug, since the console wasn't showing timeout errors resulting from Firefox not being able to communicate with the xdg-desktop-portal-gtk service.

My fix was is elegant, but works:

  1. Edit /usr/lib/systemd/user/xdg-desktop-portal-gtk.service and add the line Environment="DISPLAY=:1.0" under the "[Service]" line.
  2. sudo systemctl daemon-reload
  3. systemctl --user restart xdg-desktop-portal-gtk
  4. To get the service to start correctly every time I start a VNC server, I also added this line (systemctl --user restart xdg-desktop-portal-gtk) to my ~/.vnc/xstartup file

While I think this solution will continue to work, because my DISPLAY is always :1.0 when I use Firefox, I would rather have the xdg-desktop-portal-gtk service figure out the correct DISPLAY setting. Are there any suggestions on how to do that? Or, is there a way to configure Firefox to not rely on this service?

Hi!

I have big issue, its very unpleasant thing, I even dont want to site web develop in Firefox anymore.

Issue: If open the code inspector and go to css rules editor, at the right, select tab Rules. And try to edit some random web-page element by css rules editor. Add new rules and write :

background: linear-gradient(to left, )

so looking not bad, but at this moment starts issue, if you type between "to left," and ending scope ")", for example space from keyboard, editor will initiate autocomplete. and insert first word from autocomplete, but you was just type "space" button. Its not correct behavior! Correct: after type "space" - no autocomplete or no autocomplete dialog. But if press ctrl+space - its initiate autocomplete. Another correct: after type any buttons on keyboard - its initiate autocomplete dialog, but correct dialog, that only show some variants, but not auto-paste that! This feature very well working in Chromium Browser, and Google Chrome. And it's not annoying..

This issue do imposible very important thing: editing css in live on page from css Rule editor!

Maybe I have not found some settings, but how to fix this auto-past text? Or please add this to bug-log and fix it ASAP.

(on attached screenshot - text after "space" button pressed, its autocomplete and AUTO-PAST text aliceblue )

I am having an issue with printing from the Firefox browser.

When I go to "print" the "tabs" on the side of the webpage are showing up on the preview and thus would be printed. How do I turn that feature off or is there a firmware fix?

As an example - I have a website pulled up and you can see what I want to print - note the feedback tab on the right side in the first picture. (I clicked to open it so you can see that it's the same verbiage in the print preview screen - even with that tab unopened it prints the same way) I click on the "print" icon on the website and you will see in the second screen that there is a "tab" that is actually what is in the tab if you click on it. How do I stop Firefox from printing that as well? I have tried using the drop down for printing and "ctrl P" and both have the same result.
