In trying to use features of various apps, the app tries to connect to Firefox, resulting in an error message "Firefox is already running, but is not responding. The old Firefox process must be closed to open a new window." But in fact, Firefox IS running. An example of this problem is invoking updates of some apps; another is in Zoom trying to login using SSO. It leaves me stuck, and the only solution I have found is to use Edge instead of Firefox.

Has update to Firefox 115.1.0esr (64-bit) broken things for other users as well? The update applied itself about 20 minutes ago, and then I tried to log in to my Hostinger account. Instead of the two-factor authentication kicking in as normal, I got a message about a Captcha check failed - even though there is no captcha.

So I went to google, typed in my search term, hit return, and instead of google going searching, I got a new line in the search box!

Google Chrome browser (which I hate) is still working fine. So is someone going to fix this? (I seem to get daily messages from Firefox about a new update available), so hopefully....

Sorry about the confrontational tone - I'm from an era when software was tested before it was released, not released and then fixed daily! And that was a bitchy remark too!

I'm no longer able to log in to BankofAmerica.com using Firefox but can do so with Chrome. BofA tells me that Firefox is most likely put a block that isn't showing up. Can you remove that block or tell me where to find the block to all Bank of America to log in to my account?

I have always used Firefox, but also have Chrome and Edge on my 17" PC. For the past week or so, my scroll bar (on right side of screen) has "disappeared". It is actually still there, but so skinny that it cannot be seen or used. I Googled solutions to this, and found an article that had 8 possible solutions. I went through all 8, went into the various control options. Still, the same problem. Downloaded the latest version of Firefox and installed. Still the same problem. So- I decided to see if it was an issue with my pc. I tried the Chrome browser. It works fine. I tried the Edge browser. It works fine. I know now that the problem is with the Firefox browser. Something "went wrong" in the latest version. To add to this -- I also have to note that if I shut down and restart the pc, I can get the Firefox scroll bar to return (sometimes). BUT (this is really weird): if the scroll bar appears normal, the bar at the top of the page (not sure what that is called) does not work correctly/ is missing features. This is what happens: there is no X to exit a page, there is no "V " sign to make a page small, etc. All 4 symbols that should be in the top right side of the top bar are missing. Also, there are no tabs available. It won't allow you to have more than one tab! So, if you are in your gmail (for example), you must close out the gmail in order to do a google search or do anything else! Something is terribly wrong with the latest Firefox update.

FireFox would not open the link but Microsoft Edge did. Is there a potential security problem that I am not aware of or a problem with FireFox?

A webpage has 1,200 rows.

I do Select All or drag the cursor from the first row to the last row to highlight all of the rows.

I then do Copy.

When I do Paste (using Match Destination Formatting) to paste the copied rows into an empty Excel spreadsheet, only about 65 rows get posted.

What am I doing wrong?

i removed it with help with css years ago, but whatever it was no longer works. and ive been patiently waiting noone on any other site can help

or it maybe possibly some animation that could be removed in about:config

Firefox seems to think I am in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas. I am actually in New York and have no connection to Hot Springs Village, Arkansas.

Google Chrome on the same (Windows 11 Microsoft Surface Pro X) computer has the right location for me, as does Microsoft Edge. Checking my IP address with https://www.iplocation.net/ gives a location reasonably close to my real location and nowhere near Arkansas.

If I clear all cache in Firefox, it does go back to the right address - at the cost of a lot of annoying re-entry of routine information. But after a few days it goes back to insisting I am in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas.

Before I switch to Chrome, is there a way to fix this?

When I try to send an e-letter or reply to an e-letter I have received, there is no "Send now" headline to press. Instead there is a picture of a pen resembling a slash (/), followed by the word "Write," and then, the subject title of the message to be sent. How can I correct this?

I am a long time Firefox users and promoter. Due to laptop theft I had to move to a new laptop WIN 11 and Firefox is v 117.0

When developing php pages the errors won't display. The same pages display the errors in Chrome (I know that's a bad word :)).

Is there a setting that I am missing in Firefox to display errors as it did on my old laptop??

When I download a pdf from ebay and try to open it with firefox or adobe it is saying undefined I can open other pdf's with no problem , I have contacted ebay and they have indicated that the problem is not on their system , I have obviously altered something and don't know how to reverse it , previously it would open the ebay PDF's no bother ,can you advise what the settings should be

I am disabled and have been using Dragon for writing and reading for more than 20 years. With the new update I cannot install the Dragon extension into Firefox and the longer. This means I will be no longer able to use Firefox as my web browser. This means I will be going to another editor! This is a shame because I've used Firefox even before it was Firefox! (Netscape)

I have prompt in Firefox that says "Your browser is being managed by your organisation". I've done a bit of a google and appears to be anti-virus related which I don't have any installed.

Certificates ImportEnterpriseRoots is also set to true.

What would be causing this?

Why do I now receive regular notifications from pantheos? They come in via modzilla firefox. They are mostly religious in nature. Why do they come to me, and who pays for them, and why?

Gradually I am losing all ability to use Firefox for financial and vendor payment logins. One by one over the past year I get varying messages that keep me from logging in. Chrome (which I don't care for) works in each instance. Yesterday Vanguard denied me, stating THEY are experiencing technical difficulties, apologizing for the "temporary" inconvenience. This message has been coming in for six or seven months at login but I was able to try again and it would let me in on the second try. Recently, a Vanguard rep suggested clearing my cache, which I tried successfully last week. Yesterday, I received the same message and clearing the cache failed. I love the Firefox structure and feel, and it's keyboard shortcuts, but I can't be fooling around like this every time I try to log in.
