For as long as I can remember, there has been a problem with bold fonts in Firefox. I don't know why this is happening. Here is a pic of what I mean, http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d190/eyyo/boldproblem1.png . I know this has happened to other people as I've seen other posts about the same problem, but none of the solutions I found have worked. Does anyone know how I can fix this? Thanks.

Server Error in '/' Application. Runtime Error Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off". Why is this saying this and how do I fix it so i can see the site I want to see. It has let me see the site I want before...just did this today.

This is my 6th attempt to download a 1.3gig movie file. I have already turned off my virus check so that Firefox will download past the 1 gig mark. However, this morning my internet connection failed and the download was gone, though it is not completed to its full amount, just a little over 1 gig.

Is there any way to recover and resume this download from the existing, almost completed file? The server does support resuming downloads.

I'm currently using FF 3.6.13 on Windows 7 X64. I've finally got wireless online with Reliance Netconnect in India.

I have tried numerous times to download from the web, ranging from the VLC program to JPG files attached to emails. When prompted, I click "Save file." Then I can't find the file. There's nothing in my "Downloads" folder.

I WAS able to do this some months earlier on a land line in India and also the last time I was in the US.

Thanks for your help!

I moved to a new area and comcast installed the service here. The installation and set up of the modem asked me to install a toolbar and I opted out because I see no use in comcast services. Comcast installed some thing like malware that took over safari chrome and firefox where all of the home pages were converted to their site. Safari required being reset and chrome I removed and reinstalled. Firefox has been completely taken over, I have uninstalled it 3 times and tried safe mode and just about everything else. I spent 2 hours on the phone with comcast to no avail and my feeling on it is that firefox is the most popular browser and comcast wants part of that so they have developed their own little malware to get in on firefox. What can I do as customer or user of firefox to get rid of comcast and their browser and home page and get back to what I am comfortable with which is firefox and my npr home page.

I find mouseover "info links" that pop up these little information windows to be extremely irritating. Some pages are so densely populated with these things that moving my mouse will invariably pop unwanted stuff. I have tried addblock, and it generally works to filter commercial content, but really, I am not out to eliminate the adds, I just want to take control of MY browsing experience, and get my blood pressure under better control. I read a lot of articles on academic sites and such, where terms and definitions are often hyperlinked, and the mouseover popups can make reading tedious.

Is there some about:config setting or settings file that I can tweak to control this insane behavior? Maybe I am wrong, but in addition to the annoyance, I view mouseover popups as potential automatic malware launchers, and do not appreciate this unsolicited behavior whilst browsing.

There seems to be a conspiracy of silence on this topic - google links on the topic seem to lead to deleted posts. IMO, this does not seem to be an unreasonable thing to ask from a customer perspective.

When I go to Tools, Options, Advanced Configure how Firefox Connects to the Internet the settings are Manual with theHTTP proxy set to 127.0.0.1 Port 50687. Then it says No Proxy for localhost 127.0.01. In order to do anything I change the setting to Autodetect, but it keeps switching back. Please tell me what to do.

The only other thing I did today was to run a Malwarebytes scan that found some bad files and they were quarantined/deleted. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it.

I am unable to get the Firefox browser window to launch. The application will attempt to open, but the browser window will not appear. Task manager indicates that the process is running, it just will not launch the window. No amount of restarts or reboots will make a difference. The strange thing about this is that Firefox has never run. This is a new computer and this issue has been a problem since it was first plugged in. Troubleshooting steps attempted thus far: 1) Attempted to open in safe mode - will not open 2) Attempted to run in administrator mode- will not open 3) Completely uninstalled application, including profile info and reinstalled 4) Uninstalled known conflicts - Skype 4 (do not have Norton) 5) Even though issues since new, I ran a virus scan just in case-nothing 6) Uninstalled Chrome which I installed after originally being unsuccesful at getting FF to install (I uninstalled it before I began all of these troubleshooting steps as I have heard of conflicts)

I am now at a loss and willing to try any other steps that you guys can suggest.

Computer is running Windows 7 pro 64 bit. Running McAffee virus software. There are three identical computers in my office, purchased at exactly the same time with the same configuration. Mine is the only one that will not run firefox. Sadness. Please help, pleeeease...
