Hi,

I do not see length of videos on thumbnails any more, moreover progress bar that was visible on viewed videos is also not visible so I cannot tell what videos I've already watched.

I have made some testing and it seems YouTube is showing video length when I am not signed in - progress bar is still not visible (but it seems to be obvious when I am signed out).

Running Firefox in safe mode is not helping. I am using latest Firefox 82.0.3 (64 bit)

I also have checked in Chrome and there it's working without any issues.

Have You seen such issue? Can it be latest update of Firefox?

Hello, it's been a few days since I noticed that google's "in-applets" don't work properly. In example, the answers that are built in to the results page ("People also ask") can't be expanded, results for shopping searches at the top of the page can't be scrolled, business info has issues etc.

I deleted all my cache and cookies, disabled all my add ons, restarted in "safe mode" (add ons disabled), yet all the above work only on a private window (or with firefox when started to a different profile).

Any clue what can be the issue?

Thanks

I have a website with SSL. When I open it by simply www.sitename, FF automatically uses https and extends this to all sub-pages. When I open sub-pages directly, i.e. www.sitename/pagename, FF uses http and shows the insecure icon. If I open sub-pages with https://sitename/pagename, FF shows them as secure. Chrome and Edge automatically use https for sub-pages opened directly by www.sitename/pagename. Why is FF inconsistent in this way?

Recently, the myheritage site stopped displaying correctly. I have tracked this down to updates to Firefox after version 82.0.0 which display the page as a text only kind of thing.

I have tested versions 78.5.0esr, 80.0.1, 81.0.0 and they all display the page correctly. Versions 82.0.3 and 83 do not.

Anyone know whats going on?

Hello, I've got a serious problem with Firefox version 83.0, 64 bit version, on Wondows 10 ver 2004 I have never had any problems with FireFox, it's been my-number-1-browser since like ... ever.

Problem started today (but I rarely restart my PC), in short => Firefox doesn't open the site i want. In my home network (LAN side behind a router) I have a Synology NAS running my website, let's say the addres using port-forwarding is:

http://my_own_site/ (LAN side and WAN side)

and by typing this (above) addres in a browser's address field, it all goes well when tested on computers where I work, and using my cell phone (both outside of the LAN).

Let's switch to LAN tests:

When I use the Edge browser on My PC, when I type: http://my_own_site/ it also works as expected.

When I use the Opera (12.16) on My PC, it also works as expected.

Only when I open the Firefox on my PC, and type: http://my_own_site/ it opens (redirects?): http://my_own_site.com/ and it IS NOT the website I want to open!

Since all browsers except the Firefox on my PC, work as expected, I don't find it to be the DNS or system related problem. In command line (cmd) when I type: "ping my_own_site" - all pings return (100%) and almost all ale below 1ms.

There's more: Like describe above, my NAS has a network name my_own_site, and is fully accessible when browsing the network in Windows \\my_own_site; it also provides a www based management service with address: http://my_own_site:5000/ <= this also doesn't work. It worked yesterday! What changed?

Please, anyone got an idea what changed and how to undo the change? Please help, Chris

As the title says, a couple of days ago I noticed that all progress bars in YouTube thumbnails have disappeared. The "Watched" text is also gone. I tried clean reinstall, removing all add-ons, but it did not help. Just to check, I installed Chrome - everything visible (see image - FF left, Chrome right), which would suggest that something is up with Firefox. I also check the history settings on YouTube, everything is turned on, and I see viewing progress in thumbnails when I'm on the history settings page, but not on "normal" YouTube.

I would appreciate any sort of help or advice. My life doe snot depend on this feature, but I really like it and it helps navigate YouTube more efficiently.

Hallo,

I hope there is someone that could help me in this matter.

When users need to register in Joomla on a website that I am developing, the system messages that need to show, if the user made any mistakes in filling out the fields, does not popup or show.

In competing browsers like Chrome, Edge and Opera there is no problem with the messages coming up and giving the necessary info to the user that wants to register.

You help will be greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards Stephan

So, my mouse has thumb buttons, when I press them the browser either goes back a page or forward. When I play a Youtube video in full screen and press the 'Back-Button' it should load the youtube main page, the address bar shows youtube.com, but it just reloads the video I was playing. I think this has somethig to do with cashing, but I'm not an expert in that field.

I use Firefox 82.0.3 and I don't want to use Chrome. This problem only occurs on Firefox. This problem doesn't occur on Chrome at all.

The problem is that when sharing the screen in a Google Meeting, Firefox only shares the mouse cursor if I share my monitor screen that I have to the left of my head.

Sharing the mouse cursor in meetings is quite fundamental to have the audience focus on the specific part of the screen the presenter is talking about, much like a laser pointer.

I know that Google slides have a laser pointer, but I'm not talking about sharing presentations, but contents of the screens.

My screen setup is: Laptop's screen External monitor 1 plugged into laptop's HDMI cable (it's a DVI to HDMI cable) External monitor 2 plugged into DVI port on port replicator which is plugged to my laptop's USB port.

The physical set up is: [2][3]

   [1]

This is also how it's shown on my Windows' Display Settings.

Where: [1] laptop screen [3] monitor connected to port replicator as main monitor [2] monitor to my left, I have to look left to see it.

[1] and [2] are aligned with my head. Monitor screen [2] extends to the right into monitor screen [3] which extends downwards into laptop screen [1].

I entered a Google hangout meeting from my laptop and from my phone. I then shared the screens from my laptop so that I could see the laptop shared screen on my phone.

I shared each of the 3 screens on by 1, and only the monitor to my left shares the mouse pointer.

I then shared a window and if I move the window to the screen to the left, it'll share the mouse. But if I move it to the screen in front of my head, the mouse isn't shared, unless I move the cursor all the way to the right until it disappears on from the screen, and that's when it appears on my phone, but on the extreme left side, not right side.

Sort of similar behaviour happens when I share a non-maximised window from my left monitor. Over the shared window on my left monitor, if I place the mouse on the last 30% right part of the window, on my phone the mouse appears displaced further to the left, like on the first 20% of the shared window.

It's like the mouse pointer were in a displaced layer that when shared, gets moved to the left on the receiver of the shared screen.

If I maximise the shared window, this problem goes away.

I swapped the 2 external monitor cables and the problem persisted, somehow with only the monitor to the left [in spite of the cable swapping] sharing the mouse cursor.

On Windows' Display Settings, I then stopped the screen extension and just used the laptop one. In this scenario, the mouse pointer over the laptop screen was shared.

On Windows' Display Settings, I made each of the 3 monitors "Make this my main display" and this still didn't make a difference. Only the monitor to the left continued to share the mouse pointer.

I then disconnected both external monitors and shared my laptop's screen, then the mouse cursor was being shared to my phone.

So going by trial and error, for me it seems like it's a bug in the way Firefox inherits display settings from Windows 10.

None of these problems happen on Chrome but I just don't want to use Chrome.

I also just tried Zoom and I shared my main monitor via a Zoom meeting where I also joined from my phone, and the mouse cursor was shared.

So it's really a problem between Firefox and Google Meet. Makes me wonder if Google does this intentionally to make Chrome more attractive, as the new blur background feature and background replacement by a photo are also unavailable on Firefox, which seems intentional to me.

Since Firefox version 82, the possibility of autofill username on some specific input fields (<input type="search">) doesn't work anymore (while <input type="text"> still works). In office I often have to check a customer's website where the login form contains a input field of type "search" for the username. It allways worked fine for me to use the saved username and password, automaticly filled in on both of the text fields (of course, the password field is of type "password"). I checked Firefox version 81, where "search" input fields still worked for autofill, so version 82 must have been updated on this topic, but I can't understand why (perhaps there is a good reason to inactivate this input type for autofill)..

I installed Firefox a few days ago and it has worked fine overall, but for some reason when I log in to Chase.com, the page goes white and the tab says "CUTIL-UND null null" at the top (see screenshot attached).

I tried disabling hardware acceleration, clearing cache/cookies, and loading from safe mode. None of those resolved the issue.

I am running Windows 10 and have the latest update of Firefox.

I use a couple of different browsers, Firefox and Brave. I have several profiles set up in Firefox depending on specific sites or groups of sites that I can open individually or together simultaneously. One of these I set up for a recipe management site I use https://recipesage.com. I set up a profile for recipesage and then go to the site, log in and save that page as the default. I then set up a .desktop script in my ~/.local/share/applications folder (I use Ubuntu as my OS of choice) to open that profile along with an image for recipe sage so I can save the "application" to my launcher separate from the regular Firefox icon. It worked fine that way for years until just recently. it no longer works. I deleted and recreated the profile, open it, set the default page, close firefox and restart it and it just spins, never loads the page. If I set the default to the default firefox page and then go to the site manually it works but not if I save it as the default. I have had to switch to using Brave instead which is fine but kind of sad that I can't use Firefox any longer. Any ideas why it all of a sudden broke?

I have a bookmark to an internal site I use for work when on VPN that used to work until just a few days ago. It's on my bookmark toolbar and the link to get to it is formatted like this:

http://example/example.php

However, as of a few days ago when I click the bookmark Firefox automatically converts this to: www.example.com/example.php

Which fails to load because it's not the correct address.

This bookmark works in all other browsers I've tried (IE, chrome, edge) it's only firefox changing the URL this way. I also cannot manually enter the address because it also gets changed each time.

I prefer using firefox and don't want to change to a different browser for work. Is there a way I can stop firefox from changing the URL? This occurs in both regular firefox 83.0 (64-bit) and nightly 85.0a1 (2020-11-20) (64-bit).

Attached images are firefox's bookmark and end result URL, and the other one is chrome's.

Chrome correctly loads http://example/exampl.php and firefox changes it to http://www.example.com/example.php
