FF keyboard shortcut "move tab to start" (ctrl + shift + home) does not work for me. I've tried using my regular FF profile (a dozen addons or so) and a VANILLA profile with no addons. The same is true for Ctrl+Shift+End shortcut.

i've also tried on two different keyboards.

so, is it me, is the documentation wrong or is this broken?

I frequently paste text into the address bar to copy it and paste somewhere else. This is very useful for a variety of reasons (e.g. speed, strips text of formatting) but for some reason a recent Firefox update makes it so if you paste text into the address bar and then copy it, you will actually have copied the current page's URL - not the intended copy.

How do we reverse this unexpected and undesirable behavior?

Dear Sir or Madam; I downloaded a login CSV file from the Firefox browser. The date columns format in the CSV login file is ‘1.64055E+12’. In EXCEL, 44556.79166 would translate to 2021/12/26 18:59:59. The translation of ‘1.64055E+12’ should not be the same exact date, but should be in the same date range, as the 44556.79166 number. I’m not a mathematician. Would you please show me how to convert the '1.64055E+12' value to an equivalent excel date/time number? I could then format the excel date number cells to an yyyy/mm/dd hh:mm:ss format. These scientific number values are in the Firefox login file CSV downloads so I assume they were intended to be used in EXCEL spread sheet. These values converted to EXCEL date values would help me sort account password date change records by account name and change date. I could review sorted account records (and thus determine the current password for individual old accounts). Your solution would help me immensely and I appreciate your time. In other 'apps' on windows 10 the tooltip is above the pointer or below it. In Firefox it is directly under the mouse. So usually any tooltip popup in firefox is unreadable, mostly. One can infer the content sometimes.

How do i change that? Or what is the problem?

I'll try and include a screenshot. Hmm, the screenshot didn't include the mouse. I think i can do a video with OBS and then a screenshot of that.

Interesting, somehow in the screenshot from the obs video it shows 2 mouse pointers. One is very small and the tooltip is just below that, but the other is larger (the one I see) and it covers the tooltip. I'm using the standard windows mouse settings for larger mouse pointers. I just tried using the 'old' mouse settings to select a larger mouse and it behaves the same way. If I select size: 1 in the new size settings, and the old settings i have 'windows system' mouse, then the tooltip is under the pointer but the size is too small for the pointer. I then changed to another mouse setting in the old selector "inverted extra large" and you can see the tooltip because of the 'inverted' nature of the pointer, but the tooltip is still partially covered by the pointer.

Ideally the choice would be to put the tooltip above the mouse pointer rather than below. When you increase the size of the mouse pointer it only increases down, not up. The point of the pointer is always at the top.

I'm going to try one more thing, increasing the size in the new settings after having selected "inverted", but i recall that it changes to the new pointer style. Ah, there is an inverted setting in the new options as well, and if i select that instead of the gray color i was using then one can read the tooltip through the mouse.

So, then my question becomes "can I put the tooltip above the mouse pointer?" Because it is still covered by the mouse pointer as is. I don't see anything in 'about:config', so far.

Someone else asked the same question a while back but the answer doesn't work for me.

The previous answer: 1. Make sure you have "Ask to save logins and passwords for websites" checked in your browser. To check that, Open Menu->Options->Privacy & Security->Forms & Passwords 2. If the above check box is checked, then whenever you enter username & password in any website Firefox will ask you to save username & password 3. Click on Don't Save. So Firefox will save the user name in form data. 4. When next time you open that website and click on user name it will show you the list of entries(If you used multiple use names on same site else will show only one user name) available for that filed.

I get no list of user names.

I don't want to update my firefox. I was able to disable automatic updates. But the popup keeps coming once in a while. I need to get rid of that popup somehow.

Please let me know if there is a way to disable it other than collapsing NAV Bar.

FF92.0, Big Sur. I really just noticed that the scroll bar on the right hand side disappears rather quickly (in just a second or two). Is there some way to make it hang around? Really pretty annoying having to make it show up by manually scrolling with a mouse wheel.

When I looked into why it was taking so long to backup my FF profile, I realized it was because their are over 21k files my backup software has to compare.

The majority of these are in the "Storage" folder -- apparently local/offline storage for various sites.

I've already moved the cache to a non-synced location using browser.cache.disk.parent_directory and would like to do the same with "Storage".

But I can't seem to find any info on what pref would allow me to do that. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi all

I would like some help if possible please. When I start Windows 10 on my laptop and I open Firefox I open two separate windows (personal and professional) and then I open a pre detirmined set of tabs in each window to start my day.

Is there a way I can press open Firefox and I can have 2 windows open with all my pre set tabs?

Is this possible? If not, how close can I come to this?

I'm trying to create a DOS batch file to clear the current profile's cache (web site data only, not cookies). I have it working fine using a hard-coded path of the existing profile (I only have one profile), but I'd like it to remain viable in case a newer profile is created for whatever reason. Is there a way to retrieve the path into a variable?

I realize this may not be a browser issue. But, I'm pulling my hair out trying to find a solution to my problem and I'm hoping someone at Firefox may have a solution or suggestion. My problem is, how in the world do I get help or support with my Yahoo email account. Yes, the site has help and support links, but you have to pay to use the. Frankly, rather bazaar you have to pay for support when you're the client. So, does anyone at Firefox have a solution or suggestion to access help/support to Yahoo emails accounts or Yahoo without paying for the support? Thank you.

How do you save the changes you made on inspect element on firefox?

All im getting is youtube videos of how to do it for chrome and you require an extension!

I drag the handle to expand the area I want the screenshot of.

But the highlighted area is only what is displayed on the monitor.

How do i drag the handle so the screenshot also contains the next page?

I am trying to work out if a cookie on a web page sent an alert to an ambulance chaser for a minor injury I received. One way to narrow the search is to look at the timing of my use of the webpages that day. The History tool in Library has a number of columns including Added and Last Modified. Both of these are blank in the listing. I can see no other place where a date might be requested or recorded. Sometime last Monday I did the relevant Google search- but when exactly? Was it before or after 16:16? Is it possible to find out in Firefox?

I have a laptop running Windows 10, plus the latest version of Firefox. The laptop has a built-in webcam. I have also connected an external webcam via USB. This second camera is better quality and preferred, I visit a web site. When I first activate the camera, I am presented with a dropdown of available cameras. The USB camera appears in the list. All is fine. I instruct Firefox to "allow" this camera to be used. (first image) However, after a short time, less than a second, the same dialog is shown again, this time without the USB camera. (second image) There have been no actual hardware changes. I can then click "allow" again and the *integrated* camera works, i.e. not the desired camera. So, two questions, really. First, what just happened? Did Firefox try to control the USB camera, find that it couldn't, and redisplay the dialog showing only the "controllable" option? Second, my desired endpoint here is for the web site to use the USB camera. How do I achieve this? I can easily do this with Chrome but I like Firefox. TIA.

I just upgraded to the new release. There used to be a button with three dots toward the right side of the search/address bar. I used it to email a link to the current page. Two clicks and I'm editing the email. I don't see the button in this new release. How do I email a link to the current page? Ideally in one or two clicks.
