I have tried this several times over a few years, and have never got it to work I know it must be something I am doing wrong because if it was a glitch or bug, it would have been fixed by now. Usually I need to do this if I need to reinstall the OS, (Windows and Linux), or a new pc, the usual, but this time I had a major crash, so I'm starting over.

Anyway I have signed in on my pc to my FF account, and went through the menu to turn on sync, and I get to the page where is says, "when ready click next to display the QR code". I get my android out, open FF, sign in, click the "Scan" button, the FF scanner opens,, I open the QR code on the pc, (I have also went to the website to get a QR code). Then either way I scan the code, and get an errror msg "Must scan from inside FF". I am scanning from inside FF, with the FF QR scanner.

I don't uinderstand how of the 20 or more times I have tried to do this, I can't get it to work. I don't understand how I screw up every times, over a few years. But I also know as I said, if it was a bug MOzilla would have fixed it by now. Usually I give up on that and just log into both the pc and the phone, close both browsers and reopen them and it will go ahead and sync.

But not this time, I am unable to get it to sync for anything. I've been working on this for 3 days now, and at this point I'm confused, I don't remember what I have and have not done. Let me add, and I don't know if this will make a difference, I don't think so, but what do I know? Originally this all started, when I had to reset my password. I tried for 4 days there to get a recovery code to work. (The following is just to describe what I've done, and is not a second question) I had one downloaded, and saved on my pc. But no matter what route I took to go through the reset process, exactly as described in the help file, I never could get a place to enter the code. I read every article I could about it, and finally it seemed easier to just reset the password and resync than try to get the code to work.

Which is why I am sitting here, desperatly needing to sync my data, but unable to. If anyone can tell me what I need to do I will appreciate it. If you need any more information, just let me know.

Firefox recently stopped playing embedded youtube videos on my phpBB forum site?

i keep the latest firefox and only recently showed up embedded videos play fine on Chrome and others

Hello. Since I use the bookmark bar and fullscreen mode a lot, I would like to be able to see the bookmark bar in fullscreen, not on every tab, but only in a new (empty) tab, so that I can avoid disabling fullscreen to access the bookmark bar and at the same time not having any part of the interface visible unless I'm in a new tab. Thanks in advance for any reply!

The instructions for the Window Titler icon suggest to turn on the Title Bar (with the Firefox icon, usually shows title of active tab, but would presumably show the Window Title if one was assigned). I can't find how to turn it on in version 99.0.1. It's not where the instructions for Window Titler said to look (managing the Menu bar or the Bookmarks bar). Any suggestions?

Would love for this feature (named windows) to become a normal part of Firefox. I wouldn't mind having the Title Bar anyway; at the cost of a few pixels, I would have something to grab onto when moving windows around that wouldn't accidentally do something to a tab.

I have always set my option for all download file types to "Always Ask" and now Firefox not only asks me where I want to save the downloaded file, but also downloads a copy to the Windows Download folder. Why am I getting double downloads? I only want one copy of a downloaded file, not two copies. Now I have to go to my Windows Download folder and delete the duplicate downloaded files. My question is, if my Firefox download option is set for all file types to "Always Ask", then why are you downloading the file twice??? I have specific folders where I want files to reside. I don't want to have to remember to go to my Windows Download folder and delete the duplicate files. How can this duplicate file download problem be fixed?

I have had a few websites not work properly with Firefox and have needed to open my backup browser (Avast Secure Browser) to use those websites.

Right now it is FedEx that comes to mind again as I kept checking for tracking of packages shipped to me since receiving the tracking info. I queries consistently returned the error message "Unfortunately we are unable to retrieve your tracking results at this time. Please try again later."

Thinking maybe the website was having issues or maintenance (and forgetting I had the same issue with FedEx website the last time I tried tracking there in Firefox), I kept "trying again later".

Then I opened my Avast browser and pasted the same url there and, sure enough, received this report on the display:

I have tried disabling the extension NoScript as well as turning off the "Enhanced tracking protection" and allowing permissions for the FedEx site with no improvement.

I copied and pasted the RAW data as well as the text version from the "about:support" page to send you.

Any suggestions to fix this?

When I load Amazon.com, the webpage is a lot of text and random pictures. Amazon's layout is broken. I loaded the same page in Chrome and Safari without a problem. I reinstalled Firefox 99.0.1 without any improvement. Please fix.

I need to print out my saved passwords. I have no cellphone to access, just my laptop and printer. I only use Firefox and no other browser. If my laptop gets hacked or breaks down, then I need to use someone else's computer to access my passwords in an emergency, and can't access my passwords to do so...so printing them out periodically is the smartest thing I can think of.

Help, anyone? This is pretty important to me. Thank you!

I recently upgraded graphics cards from an Nvidia GTX 1080 to an AMD 6900XT. Since then I noticed video stuttering on YouTube while playing 4k videos, especially noticeable at 4k/60FPS (example video ). Prior to the upgrade, I was not experiencing issues.

I monitored task manager as the video was playing to see CPU usage, which was sitting at 25% (4 core 8 thread CPU). GPU usage was fluctuating from 1-3%.

I tried resetting all the changed configuration options in about:config, removing all add-ons, "Refreshing" Firefox, and ultimately uninstalling and reinstalling. Nothing has worked so far except for "Troubleshooting mode" in about:support. In that mode, I experience no stuttering and GPU usage rises to 25-35% with the video playing, even before I reinstalled.

This most likely isn't a networking issue as the "Stats for nerds" option on the YouTube video shows I have 10-20s of buffer while the video is still stuttering.

I would like to find out what's different about Troubleshooting Mode that is not giving me the same problem while in "Normal Mode". Any advice?

When I click on a "mailto" link, Firefox (my default browser) opens a new tab, then immediately close that tab without waiting for my to interact with it. No draft email is created. I see that other users have reported this behavior in the past, and I've tried the suggested remedies without success. Specifically, I ran Malwarebytes, and it found no threats. I then started Firefox (on the Mac) via the Option key (to start it without ad-ons), and that does not change the behavior. I'm on ver 99.0.1 of FF, which is up to date as of 4/20/2022 (today). My Mac OS is also up to date (ver 12.3.1). My Mac is a 2021 MacBookPro with the Apple M1 Pro chip. I use gmail. OTHER BROWSER (like Safari and Chrome) can open "mailto" links in a new tab in FF (which is my default browser, and used for mailto links) just fine! I always use private browsing so I thought that my history was totally not being saved, but discovered recently that when I started to type within the search field, that many of my past searches were listed in the search field with the type highlighted in purple. I had to manually go in and delete all of these past searches. I don't want any search history to be saved. Is there a setting in preferences that I'm somehow missing? Why is Firefox saving these past searches if I have it set to Always Use Private Browsing?

I am using Windows 10 Pro on a desktop. When l log in using chrome,I am taking to TikTok web page. I am using same extensions in FF and Chrome.

Hi Firefoxes! I updated to the latest and greatest 99.0.1, whenever i use the middle mouse button it opens every link in 2 tabs. Also when i middle mouse on a tab, 2 tabs are closed. Anyone came along this bug? Restarting FF and Windows did not help. Trying to get my notebook charged and check it on my macbook.

Using Firefox version 99.0 (64bit). When I click "Bookmarks / Manage Bookmarks, the listing defaults to the "Other Bookmarks" folder. I would like it to default to the "Bookmarks Menu" folder. How do I make it do that?

I cannot play CNN videos in Firefox. They will not start. I can play them in Microsoft Edge and on my iPhone. I can play other videos in Firefox from, say, YouTube. It's just CNN that seems to be the problem. I have a Windows 10 PC.

More and more I'm having to go to other browsers like Chrome or Edge to open certain websites as they do not work through the Firefox browser. Why is this and how can i get them to work before i change browsers permanently?
