Third visit. Tried all recommendations with no luck. Just turned off enhanced tracking protection, again, with no luck. Edge continues to work just fine. I am getting very close to the point where I simply purge Firefox from my computer, after I have been using it ever since it appeared on the scene years ago. I am at caribsailor@yahoo.com, which I will reach through Edge.

When I open Google Maps it doesn't show the normal icons for navigation on the map. It doesn't do anything when I have hardware acceleration enabled and I type something in the search bar. If I disable hardware acceleration it does a search, but in no way can I get it to show the place I want to see. It just shows the map of Rotterdam, where Google thinks I live based on my IP address.

It does work in Safari though, so it's a Firefox problem. I hope you can fix it. Google seems to give the FF team lots of problems.

I'm using Firefox 90 on Linux (Fedora 33) and MATE Desktop. Before I upgraded to Firefox 90, I set widget.non-native-theme.enabled to false to revert the scrollbar appearance to the system theme, as per this question: Scrollbar appearance changed after Firefox upgrade. It worked on Firefox 89, but as soon as I upgraded to Firefox 90, the scrollbars went back to the non-native appearance.

After the upgrade, the widget.non-native-theme.enabled is still set to false, but apparently ignored. However, I noticed that the other widget.non-native-theme.gtk.scrollbar.* settings that allow scrollbar appearance customization inside Firefox are ignored as well. If I set widget.non-native-theme.enabled back to true, then the other scrollbar settings work as expected. This tells me that widget.non-native-theme.enabled does work, but the system scrollbar theme is not picked up as expected. This looks like a bug to me.

When hit shift and click somewhere in the webpage or type something, the "Page Inpector" keep poping out (see attached screenshot), this is so annoying that I basically cannot type any capital letters. I have tried the option "Refresh Firefox", the browser seems to be set to default mode, but the issue still exsist. Tried for a new keyboard, the same. I searched the forum, but unfortunately cannot find a proper solution. Hope anyone can help me with this, otherwise I have to consider to change my default browser (which I really don't want to because of such a simple but annoying problem).

Thanks a lot for anyone could provide any suggestions !

I love Firefox (FF), I use it on my home PC, work laptop, and my smartphone. I use a FF account for synchronization which is quite handy. But why, WHY every time I log into my account I'm getting an email: "Last reminder to sync devices! bla bla bla" Can not FF learn that my account uses sync? I don't have more devices for extra synchronization :) Is that really hard?

I lost that session of around 2000 tabs back in May 1, and I backed it all up onto a folder. When I followed all the existing steps (closing Firefox and replacing the current stuff with the backups), it only took me to a blank "about:restore" tab and popped up an about:support tab.

When I tried loading it into the scrounger (https://www.jeffersonscher.com/ffu/scrounger.html), it crashed the tab no matter how many times I try. I decompressed it and it loaded the uncompressed JSON without a problem, but it won't let me click "save embedded session (first found only)"

I will give this one more try and then I will delete this program.

I want to save some specific login information. I get it to work right and then a week or so later it erases all of the information.

Reset it so often is worse than it not saving.

Why does it delete the information when I don't want it to.

So, first off, Firefox is my favorite browser. I love it a lot. I'm also a pretty big supporter of Free and Open-Source Software.

With that said, I was wondering when and if Firefox will fully support ICC V4 profiles and the PNG specification.

I noticed that ICC V4 is not enabled by default, but even after setting gfx.color_management.enablev4 to true and setting gfx.color_management.mode to 1, ICC V4 is still not working properly.

You can test this yourself here: https://littlecms.com/blog/2020/09/09/browser-check/

Also, I noticed that PNG images of large sizes won't display at all in Firefox, resulting in a broken image icon.

You can test this yourself here: https://www.jwz.org/blog/2018/07/png-antics/

These seem to work at least passably well in other browsers, but I don't want to use other browsers! Does anyone know if Mozilla will fix these sometime? I do know that Little CMS is open-source under the permissive MIT license, so maybe Firefox could use that to fix the ICC V4 problem, if that could help. I don't know if using the latest version of libpng will help the other problem, but I know it is under a rather permissive BSD-style license.

I'm using Firefox 90.0.2 in case anyone is wondering.

1. Search bar doesn't work for search. If i type anything, i.e. "firefox", it opens firefox.com 2. Settings > Search reveals that I have no search engines, and nothing is selected as a default search engine. 3. "Restore default search engines" does nothing 4. Removing all files related to word "search" in root directory does nothing, still has no search engines after restart. 5. Switching to new profile does work, default search engines appear and search bar is working fine. 6. As soon as I sign in my account and sync starts, profile loses all search engines and search bar stops working.

I believe my firefox sync account is syncing 0 search engines to my browser, and I can't add new search engines. I have Manjaro Linux and a Windows machine, both with firefox but using different versions. Both browsers lost all search engines after sync.

I have had a primary/master password set in Firefox for years. It only prompted me to enter it once per session. Since version 90, it now pops up at least once a day at random times to ask for the password again. This has happened on 3 different devices where Firefox is installed.

How can I stop it doing that or at least extend the time to a week? I know there are hidden config options for these, but they look to be on the default values, so have never changed.

Hello

There are a number of PDF documents on my computer that unfortunately won't open in Firefox. Firefox is my default for opening PDF documents but I also tried Microsoft edge and they didn't open on that either. Some of them are from 2 1/2 years ago, some say 4-6 years ago. These files used to open on my computer without problems but alas not anymore! :( When I try to open them in Firefox I get a completely blank document with no error message. When I try instead to open them with microsoft edge I get the following error "We can't open this file. Something went wrong"

Thanks!

After latest update to 90.0.2 I'm no longer able to log in to an internal corporate website. This has worked fine before. Accessing the same site with Chrome or Edge still works fine but no longer with Firefox.

Error message: SSL_ERROR_CERTIFICATE_UNKNOWN_ALERT

I have previously struggled with Certificate with Firefox but after enabled security.enterprise_roots.enabled in Config it has worked fine until now.

So what has changed this time and how to bypass? Obviously the cert/website works fine with other browsers.

Thanks Henrik

As we all know the fullscreen mode does exactly what you'd expect, it makes Firefox cover the entire screen, including the taskbar. That's great.

However sometimes I'm running more than one window of Firefox and if only one of the windows is in fullscreen it will cover the taskbar even when I alt-tab to any of the windows that aren't in the fullscreen.

I'll provide a screenshot to show my case. And as you'll be able to see if I mouse-over links in the taskbar they're clickable, so the fullscreen window is still active through the area where taskbar should be once you're running a window that isn't in fullscreen.

That's quite annoying and gets in the way so I'm wondering is that an oversight or a bug (I hope it's not an intended feature) and is there a way to fix that in config or will I have to wait for the developers to fix this in a patch eventually, if they would even want to.
