Hello guys! For about a year so I changed my mainly web browser from Chrome to Firefox mainly because of one reason, auto-deleting. I have been happy with the browser for a bit over 1 year. But recently the browser have started to auto-delete my history. My first tabs with Firefox is no longer available for me and I find it very sad. :( I have tried everything to get it back, but nothing works.

But unfortunately it doesn't stop there. For everyday I use Firefox and store history history of the last day available on my history list gets deleted automatically without my permission. So I wonder is there a way to stop and prevent auto-deleting of history. Or does the history tab have a limit for how much history that can be stored. Is the limit really 1 year and approx. 3 months?

Before answering and helping me I can tell you guys that I have read a lot about this on net and even read questions related to this here on mozilla support. And I have turned off many of the obvious reasons like private browsing, auto-clear history after I close the application, etc. I mean I am pretty aware of all the usual reasons, but even so my history get deleted by itself day by day and I want to stop this.

I made a Firefox account a while ago. I use Firefox in my user account as well as when I work in the Admin account. I think I have noticed before that these two Firefoxes were automatically synchronized now and then. But since I had to deal with a problem in the Admin account (continuously opening download windows) and reset Firefox there, the Hans- the user- Firefox differs from the Admin Firefox. That does not matter much in itself, but what if ever I change computer or something? Which version will be leading then, and decide on what kind of Firefox will be installed?

I am using Windows 7, and am furious that I can not get rid of Yahoo search. Yahoo does not show in Add Remove Programs. Yahoo does not show in plugins or addons. How do I stop Yahoo from being my search engine? When searching for 'Fred' the menu bar shows "https://search.yahoo.com/search?ei=utf-8&fr=tightropetb&type=11745&p=fred". Is the 'tightropetb anything to do with it?

I want back the OLD autofill system in which when I type ONE letter in the address bar it automatically completes that WITHOUT asking if I want to visit or if I want to search?

that is, ONLY show addresses bookmarked that include that letter and NOTHING else

It started with Facebook. When I go to facebook.com I get a screen with a jumble of characters. Now it is happening with Amazon.com. All I can find from google searches is a solution if I use Kaspersky, but I do not. I use Avast. This isn't happening on my Chrome browser - it is specific to Firefox. I've tried using Avast and Malwarebytes to remove any viruses and malware, but the problem persists. What could be happening?

When I open my Pinterest page there are no images, just coloured rectangles. This problem started about 4 days ago. I have cleared my cache and cookies, checked that images are allowed in the site security section, and reloaded Adobe. Can you suggest anything else I can try? This problem also occurs when I receive an email from Pinterest (ie - here are some new pins we thought you might be interested in) When I click show images in the email the same thing happens - no pics just coloured rectangles.

Every time I try to download something - it doesn't matter from where - the buttons in the download box do not work. They show up simply as two lines. Cannot figure out what is causing this and it just started.

Oh, and I just noticed this occurs in any sort of prompt box - downloads, errors, anything that has one of those cues that as for an action on my part.

I am using tab mix plus and enabled using session restore of firefox.

I cannot click the 'my restore previous session' button in 'history'.

I've just discovered an Add-on by Chris Pederick called "Web Developer", which adds an extra bar below the Bookmarks Toolbar that allows many additional features, including something like "Filesizer" called "Resize". I relied on Filesizer, and Resize woks for me.

I have run ever known form of antivirus scan, malware scan, spyware scan on a system (running windows vista on an HP computer) and FireFox still comes up with all blank pages and the home page will not load, (it comes up blank0 it also can not connect to the internet, I have tried all fixes on this web site with no luck.

I have completely scrubbed anything to do with FireFox off the hard drive and done a full new download of FireFox 50.0, then run a install, it still comes up with the same problem.

I can't post any trouble shooting info yet as I have removed the hard drive from that system and it is in the middle of a hard scrub of the drive, (using a second computer and scrubbing it as a "F" drive) looking for any hidden malware or spyware that may be hidden to the scans when the system is active.

Internet explorer, and Opera work fine, but want to use FF as my main browser, I will post any trouble shooting info when it scans are done if I still cant get to the internet.

Identifiable toolbar bookmark icons not appearing. Each time I set a new bookmark in the toolbar, or edit it an existing one, all I get is an extremly unhelpfuil CD disc type icon. Soon all my toolbar bookmark icons will be exactly the same, thus rendering the toolbar useless. For me, this is a vital part of the browser yet it seems utterly neglected. Add-ons wihich purport to address this issue (whicj shows how prevalent it is) simply don't work. The only browser I now that properly deals with this issue is IE11 but it is so slow loading pages as to be useless.

I'm using the latest version of Firefox but this issue has been apparent for many previous versions.

I updated to Firefox 50 on Firefox recommendation and important supplementary security program IBM Trusteer no longer functions. I wish to revert to Firefox 48 or 48 that do seem to work. Guidance please many thanks

I removed some adware-trojan with Windows Defender and Comodo firewall that had geekbuddy a program that malewarebytes found 254 adware entries from. So deleted the things and then could no longer connect to the internet. After fidling around and think the old xp winsock fix internet started working again. With explorer i can get online in 2 seconds.

Ones i try to start firefox then it wont run. I see it lower in the taskmanager between the processes firefox32bit, but it wont start to be on the top of task manager. 15-30 minutes after clicking open out of the blue it pops up if i'm lucky. And ones it started and i click open on my desktop icon then it immediately opens a new window with fox running fine.

Working on Win10 16 gb ram 8064p, so not an ancient slow computer fox ran like a ferarri before the trouble.

Taken actions: I uninstalled firefox, tried the reset and even tried to rename my profile to old 2. I also see a load of files in my firefox main folder. Tried to run Firefox portable but that wont run eighter. Yet that folder does not have all these api files in the main folder.

These are some of them, there are 40 of these api dll's in my folder api-ms-win-core-console-l1-1-0 api-ms-win-core-interlocked-l1-1-0 api-ms-win-core-processenvironment-l1-1-0

Before i reinstalled firefox i updated it, did not work, uninstalled Java then installed jre-8u111-windows-x64 Don't see Java between plugins or extentions eighter after reinstall.

I copied my Morzilla folder that is inside roaming about a month ago when all worked fine. So as last try i can remove firefox again, go into roaming folder and delete the Morzilla folder in there and replace it with the one i backed up 1 month ago. That is what i always do if i get a new computer. This computer has been working fine incl firefox for over a year. And as i explained IExplorer still works fine. So i fear that the trojan messed up firefox. Or the trojan makes firefox think that i am on Win 8 instead of win 10 and that is why i have this trouble. Right click on my computer still shows that i work on Win 10 Pro 64 bit. So if i try to download firefox then it should recognise my used version since i can not chose which version to download Firefox Setup Stub 50.0.1 is what i get, and again FirefoxPortableLegacy36 also will not start. So in some way firefox seems to be blocked.

But figure that wont change anything cos if that would work then firefox portable should be able to run as well since that is 2 or more years old not including recent extentions or plugins. So i wont do that for now, hope someone here knows a solution. And yep i did close the non starting firefox32bit in my taskmanager before trying to run the portable version

Before i reinstalled firefox i saw a warning that there was a pref.js file in firefox that was not made by firefox. Guess that was because then i did not have java installed and that pref file had a java icon so bet it belonged to java. After re install of fox and java i don't see that in the error text file

November 16 mozilla updated to 50.0. When I run a whole computer scan avg gave me the following notification :

I tried to find the location but i couldn't. Can you Help me?

A few Firefox updates ago, not sure which one. My ram usage started climbing while i have the browser open. If i don't close the browser, it keeps climbing. It has gone as high as 3 gigs of ram, with only two web pages open. I am not sure how high it would go, but i am not going to find out the hard way. It never did this before one of your updates. In order to stop it, i have to close the browser and and then restart it to drop the ram usage. As soon as i reopen the browser, the ram usage starts starts climbing. Nothing else on the computer uses ram like that. I am using a Dell computer, which has 8 gigs of ram. I am running windows 10 anniversary edition. I wrote a request for help with this, a couple of weeks ago and got a reply that said to close the browser and restart it holding down the control key as a fix. It doesn't do anymore than just closing it does. The ram still climbs back up climbs. Is there any of your add on's that suck ram like that? Any suggestions would be appreciated Thanks

The last week or two I have been getting a pop up with the below script number. I googled it but have not found this specific number. I do seem to feel it has something to do with the browser itself as I notice if I click on the STOP SCRIPT button then I can't seem to use buttons in the browser such as tabs and bookmark bar buttons and such. I have to then shut down the browser and restart it when this occurs.

Any ideas what this script number 638 is and how to fix it as it pops up almost every time I start my browser and sometimes when I am browsing

When I start Firefox I am frequently, not always, shown a Google sign in page instead of my homepage. I can't figure out how this is happening. I have searched the web for a solution, but have not hit on the right search argument to get any results. I would like to understand why this is happening and stop it. TIA for any help.
