Dear All,

I cannot get Firefox 5.0 to use Adobe Flash Player. When I run http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/ I always see the message "For your safety, Firefox has disabled your outdated version of Flash. Please upgrade to the latest version." The thing is, I have the latest version of Flash plugin (10.3.181.34) installed. I have tried uninstalling the Flash plugin (including using the uninstaller form Adobe's website) and installing it again (there are no errors reported during installation) without effect.

Here is some more background in case it's relevant: +Installed Firefox 5.0 after clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. The computer is on a Windows domain. +I manually copied some files (bookmarks, etc.) to the newly created profile +When prompted to install Flash player I did so. The installation had no effect in that Firefox keeps asking me to install the plugin. +Other plugins work fine (I have a limited set of standard plugins). +I have tried reinstalling Firefox (even an older version 3.6.18) and the problem persists. +I manually added the entry "dom.ipc.plugins.enabled.npswf32.dll" in about:config, with no effect +There is no mention of Flash in about:plugins

I have exhausted the solutions I have seen suggested in various places on the web. I would greatly appreciate if somebody could help me sort this issue out - I love Firefox but it's impossible to switch to different browser every time I need to view Flash content.

Best, S.

Since I updated to version 5.0 of firefox, 95% of pictures do not display in the body of emails using my yahoo account. If I go to forward the email however I can find them displayed in the forwarding window. I do have all pictures set to display in the ff settings, and have not made any setting changes before or after the update. At first I thought it was the "New" yahoo mail, which I switched to from the "classic", but I cannot switch back. I finally opened my yahoo mail in IE, and the pictures show right up.

The keyboard number keys and symbols above them will not work. I nothing at all except a space or they last letter key used, but works fine in other applications such as MS Word. The number pad works just fine. Any one have any thoughts on this.

I had to do a reinstall and upgrade to Windows 7, so I may have missed something. Running a 64bit OS. Problem only seems to be in the browsers.

Normally, at the top of the screen there are the tabs, which show which site I am using and which sites I have open. Currently, those tabs disappear and the screen is filled completely with the page that I am working on. Only when I jam the curser up to the top of the screen, do the tabs appear. They disappear again when I move the curser down from the top of the screen.

This began when I was trying to pay a bill online (American Express). The site would not function and allow me to pay the bill. The AX "help" person told me that Firefox was the problem and made me change to another browser, but while I was still on Firefox, the tabs disappeared. I was ultimately able to pay the bill on another browser. BTW, I had not been able to pay the bill for about a week, but on my previous tries, the tabs did not disappear. The "help" person said that my cookies needed to be deleted or some such. I have been paying bills on line for years, why would cookies and my browsing history interfere with paying a bill, all of a sudden? I love Firefox and I did not want to use another browser (IE is even deleted from my computer).

CSRF verification failed. Request aborted.

You are seeing this message because this HTTPS site requires a 'Referer header' to be sent by your Web browser, but none was sent. This header is required for security reasons, to ensure that your browser is not being hijacked by third parties.

If you have configured your browser to disable 'Referer' headers, please re-enable them, at least for this site, or for HTTPS connections, or for 'same-origin' requests.

when I try to download a personal video to Facebook I get the message " Firefox prevented this page from automatically reloading". I click the allow button which lets it start downloading but it only stays on 3-5 seconds then gives me the message all over again. At this rate it would take an hour to download a one minute video. I also get this message in other programs and I don't have a clue how to stop it. Help me please!!!

This seems like it should be the easiest thing to do in firefox but I can't figure out how to change the sites that appear in my browser dropdown list. Who/What determines which sites are in this dropdown. It's definitely not the most frequently used. I have sites in there that I've been to only once. Please advise. Thanks

Okay, so I've had the Easy Youtube Video Downloader (version 5.2) for a very long time now, and only a short while ago did this begin happening. I was about to watch a video on youtube, but when the video was about to start playing (after the page loaded), an error message appeared. It said: "Error: BVDCORE.videoFormats is undefiined."

I looked around for a solution and found one, but I had to disable the youtube video downloader plug-in, so I can't download videos. I let firefox check my plug-ins to see if they were up-to-date, and the java one wasn't so I updated it. I enabled the video downloader again, and got the same message, and none of the download options appeared.

I really need a solution to this. I like being able to download youtube videos, so help would make me most grateful.

By comparison, Control-F did work in the IE browser. At least that's what happened to me on the other laptop, on some forums. Just now i tried it on gardenweb, and it functioned OK.

But for a fact, it sometimes glitches. The proof is, that I'd tried Control-F in Forum XYZ, in Firfox, and it failed to work. Then immediately opened IE, and tried Control-F in Forum XYZ, and it worked perfectly.

Starting with the Firefox 4 update, tabs appear to keep repeatedly "reloading" themselves somewhat, bogging down my computer quickly when several tabs are open. How can I disable the tabs from "constantly" (or very frequently) "reloading" themselves? I much prefer using the refresh option when I want them reloaded or updated.

Problem History and Effects: Before Firefox 4, I could have many tabs (like 30 or 50) open without a problem. With Firefox 4 (and Firefox 5 to, what so far appears to be, a slightly lesser degree), my computer begins slowing down significantly for each tab after about 5 (or when Firefox and "plugin-container.exe" max out my CPU usage), and takes over 10 or 40 seconds to load a page after about 10 or 15 tabs, instead of only 1 second. When I have a large number of tabs open now, at any given moment, most of them say "Connecting..." in the tab title (the same as they say, for at least a moment, when the page/tab is first opened).

Clarification of "Reloading": I keep referring to the tabs as repeatedly reloading, but I don't really know what they're doing; they just seem like that's what their doing, since they frequently change their page title (or name of the tab) to "Connecting..." and they seem to put a load on my computer that, as far as I can tell, is like the page is loading anew, or has been refreshed. I haven't actually noticed any changes in the pages when they do this thing that seems like some sort of reloading to me, so it obviously, and thankfully, isn't doing the same thing pressing F5 does. Random things like advertisements, or the friends being featured on someone's Facebook page, would change when pressing F5, but they don't with this problem I'm describing.

Closing: In general, I'm very pleased with Firefox, but this feature has been hampering me greatly. I searched for ways to disable it, but didn't find any. It might help if I knew what it's called, and exactly what it's doing.

Thank you.

A while ago it became impossible to make Firefox automatically delete history through Tools/Options/Privacy. But it was still possible to manipulate this by going to about:config and modifying browser_history.expire.days. I used to set this to 3 and then Firefox would delete my history after 3 days like I wanted.

But now under about config I can find browser_history.expire.days.min and browser_history.expire.days.mirror. I guess the "min" thing means that FF should keep my history for at least X days, the other one I have no idea.

All of these browser_history.expire.days thingies are however set to 3 for me. And FF still won't delete my history.

But then how can I get FF to delete it automatically? Has Firefox really become incapable of doing such a basic thing as deleting history automatically after a number of days set by the user?!
