Firefox freezes up whether I've one tab open or five open. I've got plenty of RAM on this laptop, that's not the problem. Firefox worked perfectly until a month or so ago and I didn't do anything different then.

Just did a securiyt update from microsoft and now firefox uses huge memory and hangs all the time.. I cannot use it anymore I am running sindows 7 and it has always worked jsut stopped with recent windows updates.

Firefox just auto installed 5, eliminating 4 - during the process, a Window appeared advising that the Firefox 5 does not support the Norton security nor toolbars, but said to click for a search. I did and was instructed Firefox cannot find a solution. The problem is that all my user names and passwords have disappeared into Firefox heaven (or hell) - Question, Can I backtrack, uninstall 5 and recover 4, so that I can reinstate the Norton 360 security tool bar? When he clicks on Mozilla Firefox to open his Yahoo page the page does not show up on the screen (monitor). At the bottom of screen it shows that it is open but shows that the page is off to the side of the screen, unseen. How can we bring ir back to the right place?

I set custom colors in Windows because of vision problems (can't take bright white backgrounds, so I use a 20% gray), and have Firefox set to "Use System Colors." Now, after going to Firefox 5, when I print anything, my system background prints (even though I have NOT checked "Print background" in Page Setup. This did NOT happen when I was using Firefox 3 or earlier versions.

How do I turn this off? Do I have to try to return to Firefox 3 (is that even possible?)? Unless there's a practical fix to this, I'll have to abandon Firefox entirely.

I can't help but wonder why Mozilla went from a very reliable, logical update structure, which was more concerned with getting things to work RIGHT than to just change things merely for the sake of changing them.

This year, we had a very GOOD 3.x FireFox. I loved them and happy installed their updates. Maybe there were small problems but they were always fixed.

And then came 4. Then 5. Then 6. And now 7 is being beta tested -

ALL IN THE SAME YEAR!

And each of these releases has introduced new bugs faster than they have fixed the old.

But enough of my rant about the updates. Right now, in this question, I'm wondering WHY.

Why the radical change in direction from Mozilla? Did they get a new CEO? Did they hire a new marketing team who overrode the development team?

I can't believe competition alone caused this radical paradigm shift in the company. It's as though entirely different mindsets are now in charge.

Anyone have any news about the company which might explain this?

I am using Firefox 5.0 on a Vista 32 system. I cannot view embedded videos on sites or on the regular YouTube site. All I see is a black blank rectangle.

However, I can play videos on YouTube's secure site, so I must have Flash installed.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the latest version of Flash, several times with no change. I do not have problems viewing videos on any site with Chrome. I don't see anything on the Adobe Flash support page that deals with this particular issue. Can someone help?

Firefox literally won't let me change my privacy/history settings; whenever I close firefox it reverts to "custom history settings", but acts like it's in private browsing. Only privacy/history is reverting; everything else is fine. Just to repeat, the settings aren't the problem. It's the fact that I can't change them.

I just installed Firefox 5. Since installing the upgrade I have been having problems with "freezing" and occasional crashes. Firefox 5 works sometimes, but freezes sporadically. After the crash Firefox 5 locked up during the "file a crash report" procedure. I have performed all of the suggestions in the trouble shooting instructions (clear history, disable plugins etc.)

I upgraded to Firefox 5, and now the middle mouse button no longer scrolls, even though autoscrolling is checked. This is on my laptop, a Lenovo Thinkpad X60. Previous versions did not have that problem.

I've tried upgrading to 5, but I see no benefit in features or performance. On the other hand, now I cannot use several add-ons that were fairly important to my work. So while I'd normally just go back a version until the add-ons catch up, everything on the site points back to version 3.6. So far i can't find anything about version 4; it's been dismissed like a bastard stepchild. So, what's the deal? If there's a good reason to avoid 4 i'd like to know; i have a couple other installs of 4, so if these need to be downgraded i should like to know why...?

Good afternoon, I have windows 7 and I´m using Internet Explorer but when I get into hotmail, using firefox (latest version 5) or chrome, this program tells me that the certificate has expired and not how to fix this.

The system date is correct and there is no virus in the pc because I had examinated with my antivirus ESET NOD32 4.0.474.0.

The message is: secure.shared.live.com443 uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate expired on 07/07/2011 21:00.

This problem it´s just about Hotmail, what solution you can offer?

I select View --> Page Source and no window appears. Under the Window menu, the item Source: . . . shows but no window. If I close the main window then the item is ticked but still no actual window. I have disable all extensions and plugins, safe mode, revert all preferences. the same happens with Show all Bookmarks. This is why I posted this under bookmarks problems originally - see below. I now find the same happens to downloads and Error console windows. No problems in Safari or MS Word (usually the worst performer)

Bookmarks are all present, but show all bookmarks produces no window, even though the window menu shows an item and I can select it. Mac OS 10.6.8 FF 5.01 Show all bookmarks shows no window, even if I close the main window. Under window menu the 'Library' item is ticked but still nothing. I have restarted, and renamed places database. recently installed some of these addons

I keep finding words on web pages (including my own) written in green and doubly underlined (described as 'Text enhance') that provide a hyperlink to "Groupon". Why does this happen and how can I stop it?

How am I supposed to exit Firefox when there is no "x" at the top. I seem to have lost everything at the top. I downloaded the new Firefox and have had nothing but problems since. Right now my problem is that I hit "full page" and didn't know I would lose my exit "x" at the top. Now I can't find ANYWHERE to restore the old one.

I have the same problem with all browsers. maybe i have problem in my pc, i don't know please help me . thank you
