Its defaulting to this search engine when I open the browser and its redirecting me to unwanted websites and blocks or turns off my firewall and antivirus protections

I downloaded something from download.com and installed it - it ended up unleashing a world of crap into my computer (malware, etc). I seem to have gotten rid of all of it, except for this Extension that cannot be removed from Firefox called TopArcadeHits.

I've tried restarting Firefox in Safe Mode, using the "Reset" button from the Troubleshooting menu in Firefox, manually going to the Extensions folders in the Firefox install directories, and completely uninstalling and re-installing Firefox, being sure to have it wipe out all my bookmarks, cookies, and customizations in the process - nothing works, this damn extension is still in there. It is disabled, but I want it gone forever. It's kind of weird, a couple of other extensions always stay put too, like Logitech SetPoint and another, which I'm not concerned about - but just odd that those don't get wiped out with the actions I've taken.

How can this be banished from my browser?

Often part of the text of a webpage or menu is blurry. For instance when i registered on this site, after clicking on the box to fill in my username the text above it became blurred. Another exemple, when scrolling in the menu with open tab pages serveral lines of text become blurred. This only lasts until i do something for instance scrolling or selecting the text or ctrl+ (using ctrl 0 does not help).

Got hijacked by Delta Search. Successfully removed all Delta extensions, add-ons, deleted user.js file that Delta created, and probably a couple other things done, too. Still left with the about:config not saving the reset to default (about:newtab) that I make to browser.newtab.url. Works fine while Firefox is still open, but reverts back to "userset" and then empty value when Firefox is restarted. It originally had Delta settings there, so I don't get why it got rid of Delta in the value for browser.newtab.url but won't permanently save back to the default so that I can have the quick tabs on each new page.

When I begin typing the name of a website (expecting FireFox to bring up the URL in the address bar) I'm now getting several BING search results over the links. If I click on one of those search results (with a magnifying glass to the left of the writing) I'm taking to a Bing Search Results page.

Yes, I've tried resetting the Config.

No, I don't seem to have this "C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Search Enhancement Pack\Search Helper\" on my system. Or at least not in that location as I'm on Windows 7.

I don't recall updating my system recently and this just started last night. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm really new to Firefox and having a little trouble customizing the appearance. On the bookmark toolbar, some "buttons" have icons that represent the website...google, for instance, has the blue square with "g" in the center, duckduckgo has the duck head icon. Some websites however don't automatically show an icon on the bookmark button. Some show nothing, while others show a dotted square. Is there anyway to set an icon for these buttons? I can do that using IE but can't seem to figure out how to on Firefox.

Every time I install adobe flash player, it says it was successively installed. But, when I go to try and use it for a music video, it says the video needs for me to install flash player. I've installed flash player multiple times, to no avail. I keep getting the message, I need to install flash player, even though I installed it, and adobe said it was installed successively. What in the world gives??? Can you help? Thank you.

Hi, I have a thing that's been bugging me for a while. I have Firefox locked down pretty tight. Do not track, no browser history stored and no cookies etc etc.

HOWEVER, whenever I open a new tab I get the blocks of "previously visited websites to chose from" with some sites I have visited in the past (though not all) even though I'm basically running in private mode all the time. I can go to the security settings and select "clear history" and they go away and I get blank boxes again. But every time it builds up and they come back. How do I stop this from happening? Because clearly it's saving my browsing history somewhere, somehow even though I'm asking it not to.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have upgraded Norton 360 to 2013 on my desktop PC, and now I can't get rid of the Safe Search pane in the Norton Toolbar in Firefox 21. Previously I'd been able to turn it off.

I can't find a button on the toolbar (I checked the circle logo), and no options in the Norton Settings, and I've tried to find something on this via Symantec but had no luck, except being asked to join the Norton Family service when I don't have any children!

Can I edit Firefox About:Config to get rid of it? I have Firefox 23 on my laptop, which I upgraded from Firefox 14 immediately after I'd upgraded 360 to 2013 (the day before my desktop), which also had the Safe Search pane removed before the installation, and that is unchanged. Both run on XP SP3.

I can't believe that simply upgrading Firefox again to 23 will fix this, as there is no Options button on the Norton Toolbar running on the laptop either, and obviously the Settings options in 360 are identical.

I've been using the DjVu plugin for years, without issue. It worked fine yesterday. As of this morning, it has vanished from Firefox.

Multiple downloads, installs, uninstalls, restarts and reboots later, and I still have no DjVu in Firefox 21.

It works in IE 10, so it is installed on my Windows 7 64bit system. I don't want to use IE 10 to view the old newspapers that are a primary part of my research. The only way to view them is with DjVu.

Why - what is wrong - where is it? Can't even find the plugin to add from the add-ons page.

Please - someone point me to a fix.

I am currently using a datepicker from jQuery UI 1.10 with a select dropdown so that the user can choose year. The "yearpicker" works just fine in other browsers, but in FF21 (i have yet only tested it in this version) it does not work at all. It's like clicking a select-box with no options; the menu does not open and i cannot change the selected option with arrow-keys on my keyboard. It's just static.

I have read some other related posts about similar issues, and the tips given does not solve my problem (like restarting in safe mode, disable all add-ons, disable hardware accelerator, etc). I have also checked for solutions in disabling windows shadow options, but with no success. Since this only appears in FF i assume that this is not an issue with jQuery UI. This looks more like an issue with FF, and due to the history of problems with select-boxes it could be something old that is coming back.

Within the last couple days, Firefox has had a lot of problems.

When I open it, the window hangs and freezes after a few seconds, if it opens at all. Other times, trying to open Firefox simply won't open the window, but will leave an extra process running in the background that I have to manually shut down via Task Manager.

I have made a fresh profile. I have restarted Firefox. I previously had hardware acceleration checked, and disabled it; still having the same problem. I have uninstalled and re-installed Firefox multiple times. I have run a scan of my system with Malwarebytes; nothing detected. It's not even generating a crash log. I have looked through the support forums, found people with problems similar to mine, but no solutions posted for them since sometime last month.

Firefox seems to run normally if do an install of version 21, which opens up the browser window. Everything works fine, until I close the browser and then re-open it.

Locking this "beta" thread. Firefox 22 was released yesterday.

I have a Windows 8 laptop on the Beta channel. I updated to Firefox 22 Beta yesterday and noticed that the Roboform toolbox was missing. I reinstalled Roboform, just to make sure, but it was not present in the browser windows, nor is it on the Toolbar menu. It does show as an installed add-in, and the toolbar is present in I.E. 10 and Chrome.

All drag-and-drop features stopped working on my FF 21.

That is, I can no longer: - Drag items to bookmarks or rearrange the bookmarks - Drag words to the search box or links to the URL box - Change the order of tabs - Rearrange items on toolbars - Move text in text boxes - etc.

Safe mode exhibits the same problems.

Please advise.
