When I click on a bookmark, FF opens it in the current tab, overwriting the site I had open. I have to add a tab, then click on the bookmark to have it in a new tab. This is an annoying extra step. How to I change it? I already tried the open links in new tabs instead of windows. Makes no difference On or Off

In Windows 11 settings > personalization > composition, is a way to change sounds like: error sound, connect device etc.. Before Firefox I used chrome and I set a sound for minimizing/maximizing and it worked. Whenever I minimized the browser it would play a custom sound. Since I started using Firefox the sounds don't seem to work anymore. Now I know the sound still works because when I minimize/maximize the file explorer it plays the custom sound. Is it not supposed to work or is it a bug? How can I make it play the custom sound? Thanks in advance :) (In Windows 10 it didn't work aswell)

The problem (Firefox being slow) happens within the confines of Troubleshoot Mode, I have already attempted a restart as well as clearing all temporary cached files and pages to no avail. While I did manage to make it better through setting my proxy settings to 'No Proxy', Firefox still seems to be running at a slower pace than even the dreaded Chrome. Youtube is the worst offender, with videos that used to run smoothly in Chrome now lagging, buffering, and moving so slow that Youtube is forced to automatically reduce the video quality (however, I should note that even on 360p do I encounter a large amount of slowness). Please note that I am a total dummy when it comes to technical stuff, so I will most likely need extensive and comprehensive instructions on ways to solve/diagnose this issue. I thank anyone who's willing to help me with this, it's the only thing that Firefox is worse at in comparison with Chrome.

When I search for something in the address bar using Firefox, I don't receive Google suggestions. The second photo is from another browser and shows exactly what I want.

What settings might I have changed?

Firefox currently: https://prnt.sc/11K105eLPdle

I want: https://prnt.sc/ToJ_b2PQ14k9

Note:

   browser.search.suggest.enabled => true
   browser.urlbar.suggest.searches => true

I've looked at the details in the config. As above. I've also used the Firefox Reset feature, but the problem still persists.

Yesterday I synced Firefox desktop to iPhone 13 and iPad 11. I created an account. The syncing worked.

Today I tried to access one specific website and got this message: "500 server error. Oops. Sorry. Your request could not be carried out because of an error. Please log out and sign in again". That didn't work.

I tried accessing other websites within Firefox desktop Version # 140.04 64 bit. They do work.

I don't know if this service error is something within Firefox or within Windows 10 latest update, or something else. I've reviewed system Administrative Events and there are numerous notes for 7/18/25. Many say "Distributed COM" some are Service control manager, many entries "Device setup manager". I have photos of several screens.

I've deleted cache and history (I use private Mozilla). I've restarted the laptop PC twice. No change to that website access. I used troubleshooting and that didn't help at all.

Please help diagnose where the problem is and how to fix it if the source is my computer. If it's a server problem please advise. Thank you. JHL

On macOS (Sonoma for me), if a Firefox window has focus and and there is a window that doesn't have a dock icon (for example, the "About This Mac" window) that is behind the Firefox window, using Mission Control to bring that window to the front doesn't work.

Well, actually it does work, but then the Firefox window immediately comes back to the front. If any other app has the focus, then it works correctly (Firefox doesn't force its way back to the front).

Does anyone else experience this, or is it just my system?

starting just now, firefox will not take me to ANY website. All other browsing services are working. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling and clearing cache and cookies.

If I cant get this fixed for my job I will go back to chrome and never download or retry this again. I will also never recommend firefox to anyone like I have in the past.
