When my Firefox crashed today, I chose to restore it rather than troubleshoot. When it was done, my bookmarks icon had disappeared. Yet when I go to the individual websites, I can see that each one is still bookmarked. How can I restore the icon that used to be in the toolbar at top? Thank you for any help you can give. I have been using Firefox for many years now and this is the first time I encountered this problem.

Yesterday my audio on Firefox worked, today it doesn't. I tried all the regular trouble shooting solutions. - My system volume is not 0 - My tabs aren't muted - My headphones are turned on and working fine (audio works everywhere but Firefox) - I uninstalled and reinstalled my Firefox - I uninstalled and reinstalled my headphone audio drivers - Audio also does not work in a private browser, so I know the issue it's related to extensions, cookies, etc. - I had Windows 11 do a quick diagnostic, so the issue isn't Windows 11 related

Usually when this issue occurs, it's as simple as switching from "default" to a specific speaker in volume mixer, but Firefox is not appearing in volume mixer like it did in the past, as shown in the screenshot below.

I don't know what else to do at this point. In previous documentation here, the solution for some people was to wait and it eventually fixed itself, but I'd rather not have audio for weeks to months on end, so has anyone found another solution by chance?

For the last several weeks, Firefox has been prompting me to "Please enter primary password" multiple times per day or even per hour. If I do so, the dialog box goes away, only to come back again later. I'm finding this very frustrating.

Firefox does always prompt for this when I start it, as it has for many years.

I tried the recommended solution for a similar problem presented here but it didn't help.

This started some time after I updated from 130.0.1 to 133.0, but I have no idea whether the update is the cause.

Can anyone recommend what I can do to solve this or at least to investigate it further?

Note: This is also an accessibility issue as those of us with limited or impaired motor control can be inordinately affected in a way that limits our use of Firefox or makes it virtually impossible to use in any use-case more complex than browsing YouTube.

Issue: There are certain, pre-defined, keyboard shortcuts within Firefox whose action is both immediate and irrevocable. Those of us who have limited, or impaired, motor control are particularly susceptible to this, though I have heard anecdotal evidence that other - unimpaired - users suffer from this as well.

Example: There is a particular key combination that I periodically, (accidentally), hit while typing that immediately and irrevocably clears the dialog that I am entering text into - as I am doing here - with no possibility of recovery and no warning that a potentially disastrous action is about to take place.

My specific case, (that is, the most recent instance of my specific case), occurred last night while composing a reply to a topic within the Microsoft Flight Simulator forum addressing a particular, and popular, issue with the sim.

I spent a significant amount of time creating this message - setting paragraph formatting, creating tables, inserting images, carefully crafting the text and such like, that had taken me upwards of an hour to prepare.

While typing - I managed to inadvertently hit a magical "Nuke-and-Destroy" key combination that caused all my lengthy, careful, painstakingly crafted work to immediately vanish with no chance of recovery.

To this very day I still have no idea what combination of keys does this - and if I knew, I would try to suppress it at the keyboard/system level so that Firefox never sees it.

When I searched for a solution to this problem, I found the following article on this site: [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/que.../1364260]

In essence, (though it was worded much more politely), the answer was that Mozilla knows about the issue of potentially undesirable "magic" key combinations, has no plans to address it, and if you don't like it it just vacuums being you.

Though this particular key combination might be useful in certain cases, (though I cannot imagine what use-case would benefit from accidentally destroying hours of work), the utterly irrevocable nature of the action - and the absolute lack of any warning whatsoever - makes this a classic case in the annals of horrid user interface design; to the point of being a functional bug even though it works as designed.

A more desirable action would be to:

  1. Allow it to be disabled entirely, along with the other potentially annoying/disastrous keyboard shortcuts.
  2. Provide a (default) action that warns the user that this action is both immediate and irrevocable and allowing the (default) option to abort the action. Extra credit: Allow the user to permanently disable the offending feature from the dialog.
  3. In the unlikely event that a particular user might wish to use this regularly and deliberately, allow the user to bypass the warnings and permanently enable the feature - with the caveat that it vacuums being them if they do something wrong - not unlike the disclaimer when accessing about:config.

I would suggest that this action, and the action of other "magic" keys/key-combinations within Firefox represents a significant burden to those of us who may already be struggling to use a keyboard. Perpetuating this class of issue, especially since it's a known issue and there's no desire whatsoever to accommodate those of us negatively affected by it, borders on both arrogance and ableism.

I would like to humbly place this request at the feet of whomever is responsible for this atrocious policy and earnestly request they reverse this unpleasant and destructive behavior.

Respectfully submitted: Jim Harris.

Added image: [a blank page representing the results of the magic "Nuke-and-Destory" key combination. ]

As title. Installed the latest update as soon as i came out. I get the "Welcome to Firefox" tab and the 2nd tab "Firefox Privacy Notice" opened.

The 1st "Welcome" tab, has the box and buttons asking me to import old setting and all that jazz. I have down in quiet a few times and nothing is taken root. I have went through the process of installing all my old addons and extensions, I am not sure how many times, as I use them every time I open my browser to watch Twitch or Youtube, Beyond 20, and what have you. And of course it keeps resetting my toolbar and the bookmarks and settings on my homepage.

I thought at first, it might be buggy and after a day or two it would get fixed an updated. But alas, nothing thus far and this is forcing me to use other craptastic browsers I rather not even have installed on my system.

I have refreshed Firefox a time or two, I uninstalled and reinstalled, but I am afraid to completely wipe it out, as I do not want to lose my bookmarks, passwords, and other saved information, that I probably should not have saved but I do because my memory is "teh suck".

I would appreciate any insight on how tor resolve this issue.

Thanks!

Hello,

I recently reinstalled Windows on my computer and expected Firefox to sync and restore my saved passwords, as I had enabled Firefox Sync before reinstalling. However, after syncing my account, my passwords did not appear, and I am unable to access them.

I have already tried the following steps:

Checked the sync status of my Firefox account.
Ensured that I am signed into the correct Firefox account on my browser.
Searched for any relevant troubleshooting steps but haven't been able to resolve the issue.

Could you please assist me in restoring my saved passwords or provide any guidance on how I can retrieve them?

Thank you for your help.

Best regards, Tameem

Chrome seamlessly harmonizes with the PowerToys FancyZones feature in Windows 11. In Chrome, I can drag a tab out of a browser window, and instantly snap it into a FancyZone. I can also quickly arrange multiple separate Chrome windows into FancyZones without issue.

Firefox's interaction with FancyZones is not good. When I drag a tab out of a window, it doesn't allow me to snap it into a FancyZone. I first need to release left click, allowing the tab's new window to appear, then I can snap that window into a FancyZone.

The biggest occurs when I have multiple Firefox windows open and snap one of them into a FancyZone. Often, one of the open Firefox windows will spontaneously shrink itself in size. When I try to manually resize the window back to normal, it shrinks further and further, until it is an invisible sliver. The only solution when this occurs is to fully restart Firefox.

It seems strange that Firefox has such poor compatibility with FancyZones, which is growing in popularity along with other productivity tools in PowerToys. Wondering if anyone else has experienced these issues, if there is any workaround, or if there is a fix being worked on.

For the last month or so every time I restart Firefox (macOS 15.1.1) it asks for the master password, which I have saved in a third party password manager. Every time the prompt pops up I use my password and it won't accept it so I have to reset my password. This week I deleted the app from my computer, rebooted, redownloaded Firefox, and reinstalled it without any change in the behavior. Anyone have any ideas?

Ever since I got 133.03 my Dell cpu freezes a lot. Over the last hour it froze 15 times. This is terrible reliability.

I hired Dell Tech Support and they checked my software and there were no issues. I have run advance Norton features and there are no problems. Therefore the issue is NOT with my 20 month Dell computer.

Firefox has always been reliable until late August. For four weeks it would freeze and lock up. by the end of Sept it was slightly better and then fine in November. Now it only freezes, put the mouse over the image and it freezes. Play with it for a while and it unlocks.

I am totally fed up with Firefox. I'll be starting my taxes soon and year end things and can't afford to have all these issues and rebooting to help eliminate the issue.

When is Firefox tech support going to help me? When is Firefox going to fix the issue? After Christmas I am looking into the Microsoft software......enough is enought!

Wikipedia render Thai fonts correctly. But it seems to render Latin texts and numbers in "TH Charm of AU" font for Thai articles, which I did not set anywhere in the browser (and my operating system). Ticking "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of your selections above" does not fix it either. But it renders fonts correctly in English version of the same article. (See the attached images).

Any ways to fix this?

Thanks in advance.
