Bought a new monitor which is set to 3840 x 2160 by default, so i had to change the Windows UI display setting to 200% for my eyes.

This is fantastic on Windows and works as expected with Chrome and Edge browsers. Type appears to be correctly anti-aliased. It does not work with firefox, however. Both the browser UI and viewport content is pixelated.

Attached are three examples of the pixelation on text that we are seeing.

There is no scaling set within the browser - this is a new install with everything set to default at 100%.

Is there a system setting that we need to invoke in order to smooth type within the viewport. There are several articles on this forum that seem to touch on type smoothing but we were looking to confirm whether there is a default setting that can be changed outright.

I am using a Hammerspoon on MacOs to do my window management. This allows me to move windows around to different areas and monitors using my own hotkeys. For all other applications, this works perfectly. Windows move to the target area/screen instantly when I press a hotkey. However, Firefox always needs some "encouragement". On every key-press, it moves towards the desired location & size, but never gets there in one go.

After some googling, I recently found another question on this forum that seemed to fix the problem. It is this question: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1438695

By setting `ui.prefersReducedMotion` to 1, Firefox stops its animation-stuff and does exactly what is expected when the windowmanager gives the window a series of `(x, y, w, h)` instructions. So, that seemed like the fix I needed.

But... I typically don't reboot my mac for weeks on end and I noticed that after "some time", Firefox reverts back to its old behaviour. I have not yet figured out if there is a minimum amount of time before this happens, or if it has something to do with locking/unlocking my mac. At the moment the only way to fix it again is to restart Firefox.

I know reducing animations in MacOS' accessibility-settings probably fixes it for good, but that is not what I want. That would remove _all_ animations from all of the apps and the OS. How can I help investigate this?

I found old posts about this from 2012 or so, but nothing for current version of Firefox I have been using Firefox for years. This has suddenly started happening on my laptop. Annoyingly it also displays the same configuration pop-up with various screens you have to go through, clicking Skip this step before you can start browsing. I reset the Home Page to my preference. But next time I start Firefox it reverts to the Welcome and forgets all settings.

After a recent update to FireFox, every time I click the puzzle icon to try and Pin an extension to the Toolbar it takes me to `about:addons` instead. In `about:addons` I cannot click or right-click anything and select Pin To Toolbar as I was once able to.

I have downloaded FireFox Developer Edition and the puzzle icon does exactly what it suppoused to do which is to show a DropDown list of installed extensions I can Pin or Un-Pin.

Looks like a bug.

Why is this happening? Please tell me that's not intentional.

I always shut down my PC (Windows 11) while Firefox is open, and it reopens automatically when I turn it back on. However, the settings and the layout are reset.

I tried closing the browser normally via the Close button, but the issue persists.

I tried killing the process via Task Manager, but the issue persists.

I'm not opted into Firefox Studies.

I use quite a few extensions and also Container Tabs. I tried disabling all extensions, but the issue persists.

I just can't disable Container Tabs to test because I would lose too many tabs. Could Container Tabs be the issue?

I'm using Firefox in a kiosk-mode application, on a Raspberry Pi based system, started from a bash script like this:

# Clear history etc. to prevent problems if unit is not perfectly shut down rm -v -r /home/pi/.mozilla/firefox/*.default rm -v -r /home/pi/.mozilla/firefox/*.default-esr rm -v -r /home/pi/.cache/mozilla/firefox/*.default rm -v /home/pi/.mozilla/firefox/profiles.ini

sleep 2

/usr/bin/firefox-esr --kiosk -url http://127.0.0.1

However on booting I get a banner from Mozilla along the top of the screen saying: "Firefox automatically sends some data to Mozilla so that we can improve your experience [Choose what I share]"

This is not acceptable in kiosk mode, as it would give users access to the configuration as well as being a visual annoyance. How can we disable this?
