Firefox keeps upgrading and downgrading continuously, thereby, prompting our users to create a new profile each time. Some users have never created a local profile but are now forced to, which then forces them to reimport their bookmarks and passwords. This started after deploying CIS benchmarks to those users but has since been rolled back. We can't seem to keep Firefox on one stable version for our users with their normal profiles. We've tried using the downgrade cmdlet to enable profiles used in the newest version into the downgraded version, which works until the browser again upgrades and then downgrades automatically, forcing another downgrade cmdlet and reimport of browser data. How can we stop it from automatically downgrading?
I can't update Firefox, it says it's being updated by another instance. Thanks in advance.

My laptop is a new HP with an Intel(R) Core(TM) Ultra 7 155H 1.40 GHz processor with 16.0 GB (15.4 GB usable) ram. It is a 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor. I am running Windows 11 currently.
Do not understand the problem. I have Firefox on my older laptop (over 10 years old) with a i3 processor and do not have these issues.
I have had to reinstall Firefox several time on the new machine and am frustrated with the problem.
Please have a good recommendation. I will refrain from updating Firefox.

Also, I am being advised to reinstall Firefox. Do I need to uninstall Firefox first?

I have tried to up date the firefox program as requested. When I go hit the "update now" button, I get a screen and when I try to save it says " firefox installer already exists" and it takes me back to the first page with a message in a box at the top of the page that says Your download should begin automatically. Didn’t work? Try downloading again."
I have tried several times but I find that I'm stuck in a stupid loop where nothing gets installed. The message is that I have till March 14, so this needs to be done soon.
I am not particularly computer savvy, so any clarity on this will be helpful.
