I closed a game today on my desktop (I'm on laptop now) and now all I can see is the miniature web page that pops up when mousing over the Firefox icon in the taskbar at the bottom. If I click on it, nothing happens. I don't know what I did, but how can I get my page back?

When I have many tabs open in a window and use the < and > buttons at the ends of the tab bar to scroll left and right, if I click slowly enough one click scrolls one step, but if I click too fast it starts to jump by full window width usually overshooting the target by far.

Currently is is kind of impossible to move say 6 steps to left as clicking 6 times slow enough to not cause that annoying jump just takes a very long time

How do I make it so that one click on the button always moves the tab bar by one step and never does that jump?

I was having a problem in which I kept getting a popup that said "weekly occupational advice" every time I opened firefox but it would be just be a small black popup window. It was suggested to me that it may be malware and that I should reset firefox, so I did by following firefox's support page on reseting. When it reset it said it would save cookies, bookmarks etc. After reseting my tabs were even restored and bookmarks were there also but I had a sinking feeling about my etextbook that I had previously saved for offline use from coursesmart. When I checked "Offline Web content and User Data" under firefox's advanced option setting, it said (is saying) 0 bytes of disk space used and now my offline textbook that I saved is gone!!

In the space where it says "the following websites are allowed to save data for offline use" is now empty, whereas previously it said the course smart website address.

My history is still there, and I can see that I opened the offline textbook a few days ago but now it doesn't open.

Please help. My offline textbook is allowed to be downloaded in an offline setting in only ONE browser and since it was only on firefox, I am not able to access it offline in other browsers. :(

As a side note: my addons are also somehow deleted, because I had Adblock and Dictionary and now those are not present.

This one is really weird - the problems have developed over the last week or two. TB is sometimes unable to read emails, while at other times it succeeds. When it is unable to read emails, it can send them OK. Sometimes I can get it to work by re-starting TB, sometimes that doesn't work and I have to re-start Windows. Some days this problem exists, other days it all works fine. My ISP has checked my settings, and they're fine.

FF is generally working OK, but I'm having trouble with one particular website, and then only with the secure pages (https:) within it. I can access the first few pages OK, but after a while the site stops responding (at least that's what FF says). When FF is stuck like that, I can open another tab and access pages on other sites with no problem .

I would appreciate any suggestions.

I installed Stylish a few months ago, and it worked perfectly for a while - and then one day it just stopped. Nothing works. I checked to see if Firefox had updated - nope. I disabled and re-enabled the add-on - nope. I uninstalled and reinstalled it - nope. I installed a test script, thinking that maybe the problems were with individual scripts - nope. I went through the steps as directed here (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/982460) but that didn't work either.

While doing the last one I actually managed to fix another add-on that hadn't worked properly on this computer's Firefox - I have another computer that it worked perfectly on, and I think this computer's files for it were corrupted. I cleared out all that add-on's files on this computer and transferred the other computer's files for the add-on over, and now it works perfectly. However, when I tried this for Stylish (which also works perfectly on the other computer) it didn't work.

tl;dr: there's something wrong with this computer's Firefox and/or its files for the Stylish add-on, and I'd like to get whatever it is fixed.

Currently using Firefox 30.0.3 Mac OS 10.9.5. When I tried to edit my collection of bookmarks buy opening the "show all bookmarks" in the pull-down menu., nothing happened. This usually opens a new tab or window with the bookmarks displayed. I then researched HELP and tried all those solutions to no avail. Even where the help topic says a bookmarks window will open, it does not. I have no way of editing or deleting en masse outdated bookmarks. Yes I can do so individually through the bookmark button on the toolbar - what a pain in the _________s.

Is this problem intentional, or a glitch?

I keep getting this warning message on random pages, including AOL Mail, and Android Central Forums, after recent Firefox updates. I can't click this message off, and it locks the entire browser. Sometimes I can X out of it, and sometimes it opens many tabs and I have to force close it. I've using Chrome, out of frustration for the last few days and haven't had this pop up. I've used Firefox for many years and really enjoy it and hope I can continue. Any help and ideas would be appreciated.

Firefox doesn't play well with others: it allocates excessive memory and refuses to release it.

To eliminate the obvious... I do not have ABP installed. I use about:memory and Windows Resource Monitor (or taskmgr) to observe memory use (on Windows 7).

Firefox allocates a lot of memory (often upwards of 1.5GB on a 2GB machine) and is VERY loathe to release it. Even exiting the browser (by closing the window) still shows Firefox in memory (although "greyed out" in either resmon or taskmgr) ... and it refuses to "let go" for upwards of 60 seconds, even with nothing else running on the machine. (I don't have time to watch it past 60 sec. ... and starting a second Firefox process, while in this state, was tested, but does not "speed up" release of memory by the first process.)

> "I do not doubt what you say or that you have issues, just that it is not yet the sort of report that allows us to file a good bug with good Steps To Reproduce that we may pass on to an engineer to investigate."

And frankly, that is part of the problem. Routine, real-world use of the Web has outgrown the Mozilla/Firefox business model. I've submitted crash-reports in the past two weeks, where a specific web page would reliably exhaust well-over 1GB of RAM for Firefox ... but they disappear into a black hole. Meanwhile I spent hours of my time trying to find the cause myself, to produce a "good bug" for you... including close to an hour documenting this one.

The browser became "a utility" years ago, and the time has come where it must be treated (and supported) like one. Just possibly the day of a volunteer-built-and-supported browser is... over. (And I say this as a loyal Firefox user since at least 0.8)

Firefox crashes for only one user on startup, even after reset; safe mode OK.

Starting in safe mode shows the same installed plugins and two extensions that are enabled in profiles for other users on this system. It is only this user's Firefox that crashes on startup, even after a reset. Have also uninstalled and re-installed Firefox. Again, it crashes on startup only for this user.

Windows event viewer does have several entries for an Application Error:

Faulting application name: plugin-container.exe, version: 32.0.3.5379, time stamp: 0x54224e6b Faulting module name: mozalloc.dll, version: 32.0.3.5379, time stamp: 0x54221b67 Exception code: 0x80000003

but it's not clear that these entries sync up with the crashes.

This crashing on startup began this morning; no new software or any other system modifications (that I'm aware of) for several weeks now.

Since my system was getting sluggish I've decided to format everything and reinstall Win 8.1 back with FF32.

I was normally logged in and have stored approx. 100 passwords and bookmarks in that FF32.

After reinstall I've logged in to FF Sync and found an unpleasant surprise: Even though all check boxes are ticked - everything is emply. Nothing is being fetched.

What the hell? I dislike losing everything. I do have backup but not completely up to date.

sigh

After updating my Firefox to v.32.0.3, trying to comment or upvote a comment on YouTube results in a brief pop-up window that closes before it has loaded and then the YouTube page refreshes. Any tips on how to solve it?

Thanks!

Get this with the yahoo site. The https one. It was okay until 2 days ago now I can't access it without getting the message. I have added the exceptions for uk.yahoo and yahoo but still cannot access it. It is getting really annoying that I cannot get onto the site.

I can access other areas of yahoo but not the main page.

Have read other articles about this situation but none of them help in anyway.

I have not installed or updated any add-ons recently and have not installed any software on my computer recently either.

On one Web site in particular (StudyBlue.com), which I need to visit several times daily, I receive the well known error message "A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete." Sometimes waiting will resolve the problem, but at times the script doesn't finish, even if I leave the tab and give it several minutes.

When I open the relevant pages in IE or Chrome, the scripts rarely finish and there is no helpful dialogue box advising of a script problem. Does this problem lie with the script itself? Should the Web master be using a different script or no script at all?

I should like to note that FF is the most stable and versatile browser I have used and I have tried the major "brands" : Chrome (32 and 64 bit), IE (32 and 64 bit desktop, Windows 8.1 IE) and even Safari.
