I installed mozilla today and I looked in to my settings and found this message "Your browser is being managed by your organization."

I am not part of any organization since this is my home pc.

I checked the forums but i couldn't solve this.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Mozilla\Firefox and HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Policies\Mozilla\Firefox doesn't exist for me and i don't use avast.

On about:policies it shows "Certificates-ImportEnterpriseRoots-true"

What is this ImportEnterpriseRoots thing?

I'm using a laptop with windows 11.

Can anyone help?

Hi folks, I had a problem with this back in June 2021 when my previously black background to the menu bar (bookmarks etc) changed to a washed out grey. Chris Ilias and dbben both replied, and Chris sent me a video guide on how to install Photon Colours, which fixed the problem, thanks. However, today the same problem has re-occurred - ie grey background. Unfortunately, when I checked in the Themes menu I found that Photon Colours is no longer there. Grateful if you could tell me if there is a new fix for this so that I can re-instigate the black background to the toolbar. Many thanks Chris

I imagine this belongs in the customize controls area as it's part of settings that we are supposed to have control over and after messing around and changing everything to ask first I am still unhappy. At least I found the reason for my displeasure after reading about the new release of FF98.

Why did you change the protocol for saving files? Not having that dialog box pop up is very inconvenient. I haven't tried to play any files since FF 98 downloaded to my pc but I bet it's equally as annoying. Please go back to the old way in your next release. Some of us are in the camp of Who Moved My Cheese and we don't like this new change. It's bad enough that I have to deal with black background on menus etc due to the background I chose but this is nuts. Thank you.

Greetings, I've checked a few articles in Firefox to help with my question, but none of them are helping. (Here's the main article: http://example.com.) Here's the situation. Say I go to a website's Contact page and click the button to contact someone, a window appears and asks me what app I want to use to open the email. Gmail is my default email, and Firefox is my default browser, and I use Windows 10. When I open the window of options (see attached screenshot) to open the email, and I then click "Choose Other Application" (other than Firefox), I don't see the Gmail app anywhere. I then followed the directions in that link above to check my Windows settings, per its suggestion, which I did ... but in those settings, too, I got to a point where the directions no longer matched what I'm seeing on my screen. I didn't see the Gmail app anywhere. Could you let me know in simple layperson's terms how to open Gmail links in Firefox? I don't have a PhD in computer science, so please keep it very simple. Thanks in advance! Best wishes, Bill

Trying to recover from a hard drive crash. Had to buy a new desktop with Windows 11 Pro (looking to be a bad move). I downloaded/updated to Firefox 126.0 (maybe also looking to be a bad move).

Have my last "working" userChrome file (it took me weeks to perfect this to my needs).

I am looking for: C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile>\

but there is no "AppData" folder. And there is no existing userChrome.css file, anywhere!

Is the functionality I am looking for a thing of the past?

Is Firefox not completely supported by Windows 11?

If so, what is the last version of Firefox that will still support userChrome.css?

The minimum size of the Library panel has been getting larger and larger. It can no longer be resized so that it can be fully visible on the desktop when other windows are open to 1:1 size. The issue first started nine months ago. It was troublesome then, forcing me to use extra hand motions and mouse clicks just to get a fraction of a seconds worth of information.

In other words, Firefox has made it more difficult to retrieve important information that used to be available at a glance. I have determined that Firefox has rewritten their programming to intentionally do this to us. WHY?

Please make the Library Panel box fully resizable again. It is becoming a make or break issue for me. Stop tinkering around. You had perfection, now it is ruined. I do not want the window buried, partially obscured, or on top of any other window. It should have equal rights with other fully resizable elements.

Is there a way to permanently disable red underlining from Firefox spell check? This has only started occurring since an update to Firefox 110 (now on 112), but there seems to be no way to make it go away. I've unchecked the spelling box in preferences, and killed off things in about:config:

extensions.spellcheck.inline.max-misspellings 0 layout.spellcheckDefault 0 services.sync.prefs.sync.layout.spellcheckDefault false services.sync.prefs.sync.spellchecker.dictionary false

I'm using Mac Monterey, and have the global spell check turned off for that. This seems to be a problem specific to Firefox, as it doesn't happen in Chrome (spellcheck off) or Safari. I'd like to remove this entirely, since it's distracting to have it second guessing me whenever I'm typing. The main reason I use Firefox is that it gives me the ability to control many things, particularly in combination with UBlock, but I'm unable to make any progress in removing this persistent work disruption.

I've searched for answers. I tried the About:config and changing some settings to false and others to true as suggested (e.g. browser.search.context.loadInBackground), etc., and of course I have the option chosen under settings.

This is a new computer. My old computer would switch to the new tab when I right click it, but this new one won't.

Any latest fixes?

How can I completely remove the tab bar and regain 3/4 of an inch of screen space. It would be nice if Mozilla would just have a on/off button for it. I've tried creating a folder called Chrome within my Firefox Profile folder. I then created a text file within that folder and named it userChrome.css. I put this string in the text file #tabbrowser-tabs { visibility: collapse !important; } This did not work, does anyone know the best method for getting rid of the annoying tab bar?

Thank you

Several times now, I had my bars switch out on me.

I DESPISE THIS SETTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why does it continuously change each update? Can't you just leave my dang bars the way they were set up for more than 15 years??????????

I have severe Asperger's, you're BADLY screwing my days up this way. It was pure horror to get them back, EACH TIME, as you (Firefox) figured to change it. DON'T MESS WITH MY BLOODY SETTINGS!!!!!!!!!! I can't work like this!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How do I fix it this time?

For crying out loud. Stop screwing with the settings, and gimme a hand here, please. How many times do I need to ask this?

Annoying Letterbox Black Bars on the left and right sides of video player on rumble.com website

Hello

Using the video player for streaming on http://www.rumble.com running Firefox version: 116.0.3 - shows up letterbox black bars on the left and right sides of the image via my main, default profile that cannot be cropped with zooming.

Using a brand new, clean profile with the same 100% default zoom setting, the same Fonts settings, the option for 'Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of your selections above' is enabled on both profiles, the uBlock Origin add-on is also enabled on both profiles as well, (but even with the uBlock Origin add-on disabled on my main, default profile the letterbox black bars for the video player are still present).

I've tried comparing all the settings on my main, default profile to my brand new, clean profile but from what I can see everything is just about identical.

Bellow are screenshots of the video player in action on the rumble website of my main, default profile vs my brand new, clean profile with the zoom level set at: 180%

The only aspect that I can recall which is different between the 2 profiles is that a little while ago on my main, default profile I changed the scrollbar in "about:config" to the Android version because I like how thin the Android version of the scrollbar is, but apart from that I can't remember anything else I changed.

I don't really want to migrate over to the brand new, clean profile because I have my main, default profile configured the way I like it, so if anybody has any advice on how I can get rid of the letterbox black bars that would be appreciated.

Note - this only happens with the rumble website, doesn't happen with the YouTube website or any other video streaming platform.
