On my steam deck, from time to time, the firefox's touchscreen support seems to switch modes.

The symptoms are:

- Instead of scrolling, one-finger touch-and-drag now zooms in and out (depending on direction)
- The touchscreen no longer lets me select or close tabs, or focus or click in-page widgets
- This mode-switch is restricted to the firefox window in which it happens
  - Moving the tab to a new window results in the new window working fine
  - Other existing windows are unaffected (although they may later experience a touch mode switch  event)

I have yet to determine what triggers this switch, nor can I figure out how to undo it.

The browser is very slow when opening a new tab... When I've opened Youtube it says that the Page is slowing down the browser and it takes a very long time to respond... I'm using MacOs Monterey 12.7.6 and I believe my Firefox is up to date

I'm listening music from youtube and playing Guild Wars 2 in the same time. Tell me pls bc I think it's unnormal, why I see in task manager that Firefox is opened 12-17 times?...

On my Windows 11 IOT Enterprise LTSC system firefox does not entirely close. After I installed my professional tax software from Drake Software LLC the following happens repeatedly: I open Firefox, look at a page, close Firefox, the screen clears and when I try to REOPEN firefox a popup says that it is still running and offers close or cancel. Neither button opens,closes or cancels Firefox. I have to reboot to make Firefox (147.02 64bit) close. This happens every time I open Firefox.

I often keep many tabs open for research, and Firefox memory usage grows significantly over time. Are there practical settings or habits that help manage memory without sacrificing usability?

Hi there, each time I run firefox, a new firefox icon like the attached picture shows up. Now there are several of them. This starts to crowd the dock, also I'm not sure why they are there because I already have a firefox icon in the main dock. Also they are not windows of a firefox window. Clicking on them does nothing.

Every 5-10minints I get white screen for 2 to 30sec when I use the firefox browser. Hi, I’ve been experiencing slow startup times in Firefox, especially when I have my Time calculator web app open. The browser takes longer to load and sometimes becomes unresponsive.

I’ve tried disabling extensions and changing my home page, but the issue persists. Are there any specific settings or troubleshooting steps in Firefox that can help improve performance when using online calculators like this?

When i start fire fox it immediately opens 10 additional versions in the background which I can see in task manager and they take up a lot off memory. If i end task them they immediately come back. This only started recently. I noticed it because now when i open say a youtube video it shows it as number 4. This never happened before unless I had the same video open more than once.

If I can not stop this I will have to uninstall.

Firefox was using GOBS of CPU, so I killed the master process and relaunched, but after launch I couldn't get any pages to finish loading. I then hoped to copy URLs from tabs and paste them into Floorp (which is working fine, as is Chrome), but I couldn't even snag the URLs (dominated by YouTube pages). I ran a full-system virus scan, finding nothing. The most recent Windows-11 update on 2026-Jan-15 isn't recent enough to be a likely causal factor. Firefox has about twice as many extensions as Floorp, but it was running fine until late yesterday (it's now after 3AM). I couldn't get the extensions page to load, so I've attached a screenshot of C:\Users\Mike2\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\oa7ou5xk.default-release-1715337056307\extensions There are several other profiles, but there's very little in them (one profile with a times.json & several profiles containing a parent.lock file)

If I reinstall, will I lose all of my tabs?

My Firefox sometimes freezes in the evenings when using AOL Mail and Facebook. I put this down to my old and slow PC. But I now have a brand new PC working on Windows 11 and all seemed fine, but it happened again this evening. I then logged into Facebook using MS Edge and it was working fine.

Why are the minimize, maximize and restore buttons not visible?

Sometimes these buttons on the browser window appear, and sometimes all three buttons are not visible. Never had this problem until recent Firefox updates somehow affected this. I cannot tell which update was unaffected since, but this is an ongoing problem and the browser window is blank with no buttons on the top right hand corner. The only solution is to use the file menu and select exit from the list. I may have to open and close Firefox several times until the button icons are visible again. See example screenshots.

P.S. I'm using a 32" monitor if this helps.

Please view screen captures that best show the random issues I have with Firefox browser. This started a few months ago on my desk top PC. I have kept my Firefox up to date using 147.0.1. and still run WIN 10 Home. Although I am sure Linux is in my future!

The issue happens randomly where the top row of my browser disappears off my screen. I can work around the issue no problem but would like to know and understand the issue and if I can resolve it from happening. Firefox is the only app I have this issue with. And it is random and cannot be forced, I have tried....

So, i am having two issues. when i click on notification icon fiverr.com the tab freezes. Also i am not finding the refresh firefox option in troubleshooting. i am using ryzen 9 8945hx with 5070.
