Today, something has changed in my Firefox browser. When I click on a link in my gmail inbox, it opens a new tab, as would be expected. But, the browser commits a google search to that link... this breaks the link! I have turned off Google as the default browser in settings, but still no luck.

Example: Link in gmail: https://accounts.firefox.com Link created in new browser tab: https://www.google.com/url?q=https://accounts.firefox.com

The disappearance of the Bookmarks Sidebar occurs whenever the page is closed, whether with the exit "X" or with the circular arrow "Forget About Some Browsing History" buttons. So it has to be manually reinserted when a new page opens. This didn't happen in earlier Firefox editions. Bug? Shouldn't it be saved in some persistent file and therefore be available to be reinserted (according to user wishes) when the user opens a brand new page?

Windows 11 FF 131.0.3 64-bit

This has been an intermittent problem since the update before this one. The screen freezes and nothing works, no mouse, no keypad, nothing. Ctrl-Alt-Delete doesn't even work. There is no way to shut it down except the power button. It happens at different times, and doesn't seen to have one trigger. I've run troubleshooter, but no change.

It was happening in the previous update, but it seems worse in this one. I asked about this on Reddit a few weeks ago, and someone else said he was having the same problem.

Hi there,

Hope this message finds you well.

I am presently having trouble loading websites and speed times are very slow.

Been using firefox for 7 years and never had an issue on linux versions. Though on macos I seem to be having these slow load times.

Also rendering images and content takes quite a while to do this.

I am currently running Firefox 131.0.3 (aarch64)

This is on a iMac m3 running Macos sonoma 14.6.1

I have compared this with safari and chrome and it seems to be much better.

Is there a test I can run to see if everything is okay?

thanks for making the best browser ever!

Best always

I've added Firefox to multiple PCs and phones in the past. I just upgraded my PC and had to reinstall Windows so I also had to reinstall Firefox. It seems like everytime I install Firefox on a new device or reinstall it it keeps re-adding my bookmarks. My bookmarks menu is now like 400 bookmarks long, most of which are duplicate bookmarks or bookmarks that I deleted long ago. How can i stop this from happening and how can I get rid of all these duplicate bookmarks without having to delete them one at a time?

On Mac, when FF is idle for a few minutes, its widow disappears...

Often happens also on "main" screen (laptop) intermittently.

To bring back I have to click on the FF icon on the Mac LaunchPad.

Have tried playing with hardware acceleration off/on and setting up "separate spaces" for monitor and "main" screen. None work.

Found an app to generate clicks periodically at the (x,y) of the FF icon on the LaunchPad, but such is mickey-mouse and not really acceptable.

A few versions back (sorry, can't saw how far back), the above was not a problem.

I did file a bug on Bugzilla, but have seen any acknowledgment. Similar problems are recorded on the 'net.

Hello,

I am running Firefox 131.0.3 on Ubuntu 16 on a 32bit machine. When running Firefox Desktop in a Command Line Terminal, I am getting error readouts that look to me like hacking attempts. The errors reference a "Sandbox". I have copied the error return text for your Tech Support people to analyze for security vulnerabilities. These errors are accompanied with the processor use going to 100%, and the machine locks up.

Thank you, AJ

I've had this issue on and off where I'll be browsing the internet just fine, go to open a new tab, and when I click over it gives me the "we're having trouble finding that site" message even though I'm connected to the Internet. Usually I'll just spam the refresh button, and it loads the page just fine in another minute or so, so it's not that specific websites are being blocked. This issue actually went away for a little while and then came back after I had uninstalled and then reinstalled Firefox yesterday (I was having an issue where the Firefox icon would pop up twice on my taskbar, which now seems to be resolved). But now it seems that Firefox is intermittently losing internet access, and I'm pretty sure I've tried to troubleshoot this before and didn't get anywhere with it.

I can click on "trust this browser" but it sees it as a different browser after every update.

The only problem is that .txt files dont apper in the list with applictions and file type so i can't fix it my self. I don't have any button to add my own file typs and set aplictions to that.

So I wondering if it si possible to set a behavior for firefox with .txt files.
