Why Firefox is unable to bring customising options for homepage and toolbar for mobile users in all these years despite other browsers upping their game with user feedbacks and newer browsers bringing exactly what the users want?

Big phones, too many bookmarks, can't remove or hide home button icon on URL bar, no download manager, no options to add home shortcuts or speed dials on Firefox homepage no navigation buttons at bottom, no DNS, is this Firefox in 2024 and 2025?

How to change home page and new tab to desired URL or any extension of Firefox desktop in 2025?

I am unable to find any way to change how my new tab should look when I click + sign or new tab is opened up on browser opening or re-opening unlike Chrome.

I hate the change of position of typing from the search bar on the current new tab to the URL bar (unseen or unheard in Chrome) that Firefox implemented without considering users who would detest it.

Using Firefox 131.0.3 (64-bit)

Is it possible to remove the border/frame lines around the Menu Bar and the Context Menu in Ver. 131.0.3 to make it look like Ver. 100.0.1.?

Experimenting with userChrome.css only seemed to change some things such as background color and padding size of the context menu, but as a css noob it’s no surprise it didn't work when trying to remove borders, remove margins.

Attached is a screenshot of Ver. 131.0.3 (upper) and which parts of the menus I'm looking to customize or revert back to the style of Ver. 100.0.1 (lower).

How come there is no option to turn off "Firefox Translation"? I speak three languages and every time I visit foreign web site, Firefox suggest translation to me. It's annoying.

Hi. There is a new feature of Firefox that bothers me. It is when I drag tabs around the top, they try to group when I don't want them to. So I go to about:config and find the "browser.tabs.groups.enabled" key and set it to false. But when I restart Firefox, the change reverts. How do I fix this so the change stays?

I've already tried going to Menu->Help->More troubleshooting information->Profile Folder->Open folder, but there is no "user.js" file there. Do I have to do a Firefox reset to fix this? I hope not...

Note that I'm pretty sure that other settings that I change do not revert when I restart Firefox. Right now, it seems to be just this one about:config setting, unless the new version of Firefox reverts all manually changed about:config settings upon restart.

After briefly succumbing to the ToS hysteria, I decided to switch to Librewolf. It took a while, but I got logged into sync, set up my extensions and copied over my cookie exceptions and custom CSS.

Some of the data that came over from Firefox sync seemed very wrong or out of date, most notably the settings for container tabs. No big deal I thought. I'll just manually edit the discrepancies. Once I had everything set up the way I like it, I looked up a guide on how to sync my current configuration with the cloud and followed the steps.

Phew. Time to watch some YouTube to relax. Problem is that when I finished a video and tried to watch another video, I was logged out and my site settings had reverted to default. I figured the cookie settings were wrong, so I went to the settings page and saw the behaviour outlined in the video I posted.

I've been trying to get this working for over a day now. I've tried resetting Firefox, creating new profiles and doing a clean re-install using "Geek Uninstaller" to make sure everything is removed first. I've tried 3 different forks of Firefox and all 3 of them do the same thing. After I re-install everything, I open the browser and the first thing I do is go to the settings but it's still doing the thing I showed in the video.

The fact that the data on my Firefox Sync is so old has me wondering. Why won't the cloud data update itself anymore? Based on the state of my containers, the Sync data is more than a year out of date. Could there be something wrong with that data that broke my browser when it downloaded?

I'm going to try and get hold of another computer later and try syncing to that to see if it breaks that browser too. I'll update this post when I know more.

As you can see from the screenshot i provided and as you can read from subject of this very annoying issue Firefox new 130 update has changed my URL bar and now stuff are missing to the point that links to Outlook and some other stuff that were in address bar URL because i wanted them there and now they place has been taken by namely foxovizija.blogspot.com and watchonlyfoolsandhorses.com and ajax.nl/shop just because i watched few episodes of fools and horses on that link same goes for foxovizija and browsed some items in ajax fan shop! I WANT DOES LINK GONE FROM MY URL so i can put links that i want to be in there and FF 130 address bar being populated by only the links i want to be there and stay that way! and one more thing i want to get rid of that ugly search with google thing because i don't even use google,further more once all of a sudden in FF 130 MY BROWSER IS MANAGED BY MY ORGANIZATION ? That was never there before this update ,so with all that has been said and screenshot as proof i beg you and plea on your kindness and knowledge to give me guidance how to fix this URL thing first,then how to remove THIS BROWSER IS MANAGED BY YOUR ORGANIZATION and last but not least how to block further FF updates because every new update is worse then the next and just keep pushing the whole browser down the drain ! I am a bit confused about how to keep updating FF on my Windows 7 PC, given that after March my current version (115.17.0esr) may not work as intended. Until now I've always updated manually by downloading a small 343KB installer file that updated FF without changing any of my settings, logins and bookmarks. Hoping to simplify updating, today I set updates to "Automatically install updates (recommended)" with sub-option "When Firefox is not running". But just now a FF notification informed me it was unable to update automatically and provided a link to https://www.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/enterprise/?reason=manual-update. From the dropdown there I chose "Windows 64-bit" > "Firefox Extended Support Release (ESR)". The download is a 64MB file.

Since this seems to be a new installation and not a simple update, can I be sure it won't overwrite my current version and leave me without settings, logins and bookmarks?

I searched how to disable any random new AI features Firefox was about to cram into the browser.

I was served this support page that says I can "Block new and current AI features (single switch)"

Simply, the described feature to disable AI features isn't in the settings. I've look and tried searching for "Block AI enhancements" & "AI controls" but no luck.

Please tell me they haven't given the writing of support pages to some shitty LLM.

I'm visually impaired and had originally used a CSS code to fix this problem, but that was a couple of years ago. I just upgraded to 131.0.3 (64 bit) and evidently, that wiped out all my CSS changes. I tried to use the about:config code to change it, but it no longer works. I managed to increase the icon size a little by changing the density to normal, then back to compact. Even on normal, it was all too small.

I don't want to use another profile, because every time I do, I lose so much that it takes me hours to reinstall it all.

Is there an easier way to do this? I've tried a couple of things suggested online, but they were old settings suggestions, and they no longer work either.

ALSO, I now have to use F11 full screen to be able to perform anything on the toolbars. Before this update, I could just move my cursor up to bring the toolbars down, and use the back arrow or refresh easily. Now, the toolbars immediately go back up and I have to use F11 to do anything. How do I fix this?

No, there's no such option in settings. No, removing updater physically does not stop pop-ups. No, there's nothing in about:config to shut up the updates.

For Firefox team:

No, your updates ruin the browser, more and more, I think I'm about to switch to Pale Moon instead.

I have dealt with this tiny font problem before but did not retain the fix because I actually thought I had solved the problem once and for all.

BUT, I wake up this morning, having made no changes to this laptop overnight, only to discover that the fonts on my Firefox browser controls are tiny tiny tiny.

I expect Firefox/Mozilla to resolve this LONG-STANDING problem once and for all. I have made no changes to this browser in the last 24 hours. There were two MS updates that occurred overnight, but I doubt this affected the fonts on the Firefox application.

If there is a straightforward FF/Mozilla doc that addresses this problem (since it is recurring and well documented by others over the years), I would appreciate a link to this document. And if there is a known problem with certain MS updates I would appreciate knowing about this as well.

How to disable the Enterprise Roots preference-have tried everything I can find on this issue. In summary, deleting certificate via reg edit but this does not work, have to delete certificate every time I re start windows 11 desk top pc.
