I cannot log in to my Gmail account via www.google.pl in the Firefox browser. When I try to log in via www.google.pl, the Bad Request Error 400 message appears. The same problem occurs when I need to confirm login to other websites using a Google account. I simply can't log in anywhere. This problem does not occur in other search engines. A login icon appears on the www.google.com website, but not all related services from Google are available - Google account, Google Play, Gmail, Meet, Chat, Drive, Calendar, and Photos are unavailable - these are just the most important ones that don't work. Cookies are enabled. On December 25, 2023, this problem did not exist. I tried to restore Firefox to an earlier installation date, but it didn't help. I uninstalled the extensions and plug-ins. Unfortunately, the problem remains. Please help me. Regards, Bogaczewicz Bogusława.

Converting these streams to downloadable formats for you needs powerful server infrastructure, therefore 1080p/mp3 downloading has been limited to PRO users. Playing media volume is low. In-page volume is maxed (eg. YouTube video controls). OS Master volume is maxed.

But the volume of the Firefox in Windows Volume Mixer is a fragment of the volume set. If I adjust it to max, it jumps to a fragment of it. If I adjust it to lower, it gets even lower, like a percentage of what I actually set. The level I actually set gets a grayed out slider button, and the actual slider button slides to this lower level. See the screenshot in the attachment.

It may sound like an OS issue, but as I understand, this is the output level set by the application (Firefox, in this case). Rebooting the OS doesn't help.

Recently, when I try to play a video on YouTube on Firefox, there is a flickering brightness effect (some aspects of the video seem to flicker bright and dark quickly) which is distracting and makes it difficult to watch anything. The effect persists even when launching in troubleshooting mode, and disabling hardware acceleration and restarting appears to have no effect. I have also been unsuccessful refreshing Firefox. Nevertheless, this issue is absent on Safari and Chrome when watching the same video.

Watching a solid colored video like this helps see the issue best, if it is happening to your device: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hJmFYZEcpZA The brightness switch is visible even when pausing the video.

When I find the same video two different places (ex: the Apple Sept 12 Event on Apple's site, versus on YouTube) only the YouTube video has the issue. However, I can't find any settings to change on YouTube to help this.

I'm having a pretty frustrating developer experience using Firefox to help develop an app that uses Server Sent Events. Now, I'm not sure if I'm the one at fault or if it's something to do with Firefox itself (most likely I'm missing a config option somewhere).

Anways, the issue I'm having is that I cannot seem to be able to see Server Sent Events in the network tab of dev tools. This is specifically what I'm looking for: https://firefox-source-docs.mozilla.org/devtools-user/network_monitor/inspecting_server-sent_events/index.html

I'm testing this functionality by going to https://sse.dev/testpage.html, opening my network tab. I can see the connection to the SSE endpoint however, all I see is "No headers for this request" or "No response data for this request". I know it's getting the data through the event source because I can do stuff with the data. I've also tested this in Edge and everything appears in their network tab as expected which, makes me feel like this is more of a browser-specific issue. Again, I feel like it's me missing a config somewhere or having a privacy setting set which is somehow messing with the event stream.

Any help is appreciated... I guess I got to use Edge for the time being 🤮

Dear Firefox Team, good morning.

I hope you are doing well and that you are all healthy.

Guys... while looking for a way to measure the performance of our site, we came across the Core Web Vitals (CWV) some time ago. These are Google KPIs for measuring the user experience on a page (https://web.dev/vitals/#core-web-vitals). Unfortunately, some of the KPIs (like the Largest Contentful Paint or Cumulative Layout Shift) are currently only accessible using Chrome and it's preformance API. That's a pity, because there are also many people using Firefox who visit our site... and it would be interesting to have such KPIs as well.

In an article by Cloudflare (https://developers.cloudflare.com/analytics/web-analytics/understanding-web-analytics/core-web-vitals/) we recently learned that Firefox is also planning to expose the metrics used in the CWV... only the "coming soon" from the article is a bit vague. That's why I'm contacting you to get some more information on that topic. Do you perhaps know whether the topic is planned and will be tackled this year?

Thank you for your attention. Best regards, Carlos

Title. I've followed every guide I've found but the issue still persists. I've created a new profile, reinstalled ff after deleting the whole file from my pc, deleted all cookies for a dozen times, disabled all extensions, started ff in that problem mode or whatever it's called and I still can't login to certain websites.

I type my login credentials, press "continue" and nothing happens.

I hate how much information Google gathers from their users but I used Chrome for five or more years and I never had this issue with their browser. Not once. Even now I constantly have to go back using Chrome because with it I have no issues logging in to the sites while on FF I just can't.

What is going on?

Firefox prefers IPv4 address in a dual-stack environment

Hi, I'm using IPv4 as well as IPv6 addresses in my home network. But Firefox uses always the IPv4 connection when I open a website. When I open the same website in MS Ed… (read more)

Hi,

I'm using IPv4 as well as IPv6 addresses in my home network. But Firefox uses always the IPv4 connection when I open a website. When I open the same website in MS Edge, the IPv6 connection is used.

I've captured the network traffic during opening a website in Firefox, which is reachable over IPv4 and IPv6. First I see two DNS queries (A and AAAA) for the domain name. Both responses containing the correct IP address, and they arrive nearly at the same time at the client. Next I can see the TCP handshake. But it's send between the IPv4 address only. No IPv6 connection was attempted.

When I run the IPv6 test at https://test-ipv6.com, the IPv6 resuls are nearly fine. Only the web browser test says "Your browser has real working IPv6 address - but is avoiding using it."

When I run the same test in MS Edge, all tests are fine.

So it seems that this is not a OS or network issue. It affects Firefox only.

What I've already tried:

  • Disabled all extensions
  • Created a new profile
  • Used the IPv6 address of the website instead of the FQDN -> Works fine.
  • Checked DNS cache of Firefox (about:networking). It contains the IPv4 and IPv6 addresses of the requested websites

I guess that Firefox prefers the A record for some reason. But I've no idea why. Has anybody an idea what could causing this?

Thanks.

When selecting "Open in Firefox" in the "What do you want to do with this file?" box or on about:preferences and then opening a PDF file on the web, instead of downloading the file to RAM and opening it with its online address, Firefox downloads the PDF to /tmp/mozilla_${USER}0 and opens it from there. This also adds it to the download history. I have set the about:config flag browser.download.start_downloads_in_tmp_dir to true so the files I just open and don't want to permanently download don't clutter my $HOME/Hämtningar (downloads) folder. I tried to first prevent that by selecting the default action to do when tasked to open a PDF, but that didn't fix it, so I set the about:config flag. Unfortunately, setting the default action stopped Firefox from opening a PDF inline without downloading it and I cannot find any option along the lines of "Preview in Firefox" (as described in this support article ).

I recently switched ISP and now when I try to google anything with firefox I keep getting this message appear:

"Our systems have detected unusual traffic from your computer network. This page checks to see if it's really you sending the requests, and not a robot."

It prompts me to click 'I am not a robot' then pick out which lights have cars etc in them. Worked fine before the ISP change. Some notes:

- This does not occur on Microsoft Edge or Chrome. - The only add on I have is Ublock but it still does this when I have that disabled. Plus I have Ublock on Edge and there are no issues.

If it's my IP address, then why does this ONLY appear when I use Firefox? Surely it would also appear when using google on any browser if my IP address was in question...

From what I am reading online, my only option is to either: - Use a different search engine ; or - Use a different browser.

I'm curious to hear other people's thoughts on this.

The desktop mouse cursor becomes large when using Firefox with >200% display scaling. It doesn't matter if it's 250% or 300%, the result is the same. My system configuration is as follows:

Opensuse Tumbleweed (up-to-date) Firefox 112.0.2 64bit KDE Plasma running Wayland

I've included 2 screenshots that show the difference in the mouse pointer size when outside of a Firefox window and inside it. Also, this issue is only present with Firefox; no other application produces this result. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Hello! I have used Firefox on and off so I don't have a time frame of when this would have started exactly, but I have had some random completely black screens on both of my monitors dating back to at least 2-3 weeks ago that can only be fixed by powering down the entire PC. I've reinstalled my (NVIDIA) GPU drivers, rearranged display-port cables and just about anything before finally finding a fix, switching to edge. So far I've gone a week without black screening when with Firefox I'd get around 4 give or take a week (some days getting to 3 alone). I don't know what could cause it but I have noticed it only happens when first starting a video. Mostly YouTube but other video sites seem to have also caused it occasionally, I would just like to know what could be causing this, as I do prefer Firefox vastly and would like to switch back as soon as I can.

Will provide anything else as necessary!

Hello,

we have a BigBlueButton Server setup for our company. Until recently we used a TURN-Server to tunnel the UDP connections thrugh the firewall.

Due to performance issues we wanted to try and let the clients connect directly to the udp ports 16000 - 32000

In Chrome this works as expected.

In Firefox however when we set "media.peerconnection.turn.disable" to "true" FF does not find any WebRTC candidates. We checked the logs and it says there:

"relay only option is set without any TURN server configured" "relay/proxy only option results in ICE TCP being disabled"

But thats NOT true! The option "media.peerconnection.ice.relay_only" is definetly set to "false"

Tested on FF 115.5.0 ESR and 120.0.1

Does anyone have an idea whats happening here? Why doesnt FF even try to make a direct connection?

UPDATE: I just ran a test on our dev system. If we configure BBB so that it does not offer any TURN-servers, FF uses a direct connection. Sadly that is not possible, since we need the TURN server for external connections. When there are TURN-Candidates but TURN is disabled via FF config no connection is established at all. This definetly semms like a bug in FF, since the browser should still be able to simply try and connect directly.

Thank you for you support
