When I try to use a platform like Netflix i get repeated error messages that WidevineCdm has crashed. This happens also in other browsers. I am not very tech savvy, but I've tried all the solutions I was able to understand on here and through Google, but nothing seems to fix the problem. Can any one advise?

Not sure if this helps, but here is one of the many crash reports I've sent: https://crash-stats.mozilla.org/report/index/75e61622-4282-4a83-b86e-9861a0210422

Hello there - hoping for a hand to fix this. Several months ago Firefox crashed while it was in use - void of any update process. Upon reopening, the main window would launch and before any tabs could load it would crash again. I attempted to open in troubleshoot mode with the identical result. I gave it a break and used Chrome but in returning to this issue today the same has occurred. This time after the troubleshoot mode crash, I uninstalled Firefox and re-installed fresh (this was an upgrade from v89 to v92). Upon opening post update the browser crashed again. Each time this happens I have received a crash report screen which I accepted and it was reported as successfully submitted. However, when I open the crash report folder only two appear to have been saved - one old from the first occurrence (6/2021) and one from today(8/10/21). Both of these are linked below for review.

This is on an older Windows 7 machine that honestly I know should be updated but this is only used for light gaming and web surfing and I am not interested in an OS upgrade as I disagree with with the business practices of Microsoft - I find their policies are rather intrusive as a consumer.

I hope I've given enough information about the issue here and my system, thanks in advance for any help!

iMac macOS 11.5 Firefox 90.0.2

Firefox pretty much crashed every time I quit. Doesn't matter if I'm looking at a web page or close all windows before quitting.

Restarting in Trouble Shoot mode doesn't help either.

The cause seems to be synchronisation - if I sign out of my account and no longer synchronise, the problem goes away and I can quit without Firefox crashing.

Hi,

My Firefox app has been refusing to startup since yesterday, just crashing every time it attempts to start. I assume it's because I have an exorbitant amount of tabs open, but I'm not 100% sure. I tried refreshing Firefox, but the problem is that attempting to refresh loses all my tabs with no way of getting them back. I've tried refreshing previously, and afterwards I would get the option to choose which tabs/windows I would like to restore, but now I'm not getting that option so I'm forced to see if there's any other solutions. I haven't lost any of my previous data after trying to refresh once, since it's saved in the profile in the "Old Firefox Data" folder, but I just want to see if there's any solution that won't require me to start fresh.

I've submitted a crash report through Firefox, the report ID is: bp-dd3d8911-2bc3-4471-a0b3-1f1a60220404

Please let me know if you can help or if there's any other information you need. Thank you!

I have had it with Firefox playing cop. I really have. I have a site that I visit frequently but these past two updates have now broken my ability to sign into the site at all, even in private mode. All I get is the shield and human icons with the strike-through and the error message on the user name/password field that says: This Connection Is Not Secure. Logins Entered Here Could Be Compromised. Learn More.

I've hit the escape button, tried private windows, done everything I can including resetting which was my last resort and which I hate doing, there's no more whitelist, no way to bypass anything, this is totally unacceptable that I cannot get past this. Firefox is becoming more useless to me as they try to become more and more in control of what I can and cannot do. If there is no override to this, then I have to find a different browser because it's pretty useless to use one browser for some sites and another for other sites, don't you think? So if someone has a workaround for this problem, can you please tell me what it is?

I do not know if there is a solution; but on my Windows 7 this browser crashes the whole OS when I do anything with Google and its features. GMAIL on it gets the most use; and the signin and logging out are times that are worrisome. However, Google crashes all my browsers; so it was not enough to remove Chrome. When SeaMonkey crashes, it only crashes the program without shutting down the whole OS. Solutions, anybody? I am posting on my Mac Catalina, but have to keep Windows 7 running.

I've been getting a lot of crashes on a website I'm developing - for example bp-b1597aaa-c596-4641-ad9b-a9dea0210503 . It's at the stage now where every time I open the site (or a clone of it) it crashes.

This appears to be reported at https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1706429 but has severity and priority of P3, perhaps based on 39 reports when the ticket was raised. But there are now 614 of them: https://crash-stats.mozilla.org/signature/?product=Firefox&signature=js%3A%3Afrontend%3A%3AGeneralParser%3CT%3E%3A%3AprimaryExpr&date=%3E%3D2021-04-27T17%3A01%3A00.000Z&date=%3C2021-05-04T17%3A01%3A00.000Z&_columns=date&_columns=product&_columns=version&_columns=build_id&_columns=platform&_columns=reason&_columns=address&_columns=install_time&_columns=startup_crash&_sort=-date&page=1#reports

This is really annoying because I'm having to do my website development in Chrome.

Hello, I am a screenreader user and since updating to Firefox 86.0.1 (64-bit) I have encountered a serious bug on Netflix that is very easy to reproduce, even for those who don't normally use screenreaders. Serious in the sense of making the site unusable once it hits. It happens with both the screenreaders I use, Windows Narrator and Non-Visual Desktop Access (NVDA).

Basically on Netflix if you do something to cause an informational alert (such as adding a film to your list), then this alert is read out over and over, indefinitely. You then can't hear anything else such as a plot synopsis, or if you move to a different button, you won't hear information about what button it is, as the screenreader just keeps re-stating the same alert. The looped alert keeps playing even after you start watching a film or show. As I say, the site becomes unusable. Whereas in older versions of FF such alerts would be read just once and that was it.

To reproduce: Start a screenreader (the built-in Windows Narrator can be toggled on and off with ctrl+win+enter). Go to the Netflix website (you may need an account and to be logged in). Pick any film or series tile, and do something like press the 'add or remove the item from your list' button. Or press it's 'rate thumbs up / down' button.

You will now hear something along the lines of 'alert: item was added to your list' repeated over and over.

Another example is to start watching a show with a skippable intro (such as Homeland for example). You will hear 'alert: press the S key to skip the intro' repeatedly.

As I say above, in older FF such alerts were read out just once.

So, is this a known issue? Thanks for reading.

just like the title says

and yes I tried every one of these fixes provided in this link

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-crashes-closing-or-quitting

only one i didn't use is hardware acceleration because I just wanna use Firefox normally I am not here for anything that lowers the normal performance I am used to and it's not a real fix

Also Firefox is literally the only thing that crashes on my PC, even other browsers I tried such as Chrome and Opera (both versions including GX) were working just fine, both safe mode and clean installation by deleted the folders in AppData and even deleting everything and updating windows and drivers are up to date, and it still crashes regardless.

Going to %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Crash Reports\submitted doesn't show me Submitted folder which I assume it happened cause of the multiple clean reinstallation I did but there is pending and events and idk how to share a dmp file here.

Only reason I am still sticking to Firefox is the fact that it's more private than say Google, Opera and Edge and that's most important to me, and the problem happens to probably any website, maybe mainly media sites like Twitch and Youtube but it may jsut be coincidence or maybe cause I stay on these for longer than 5-10 mins normally so they are more noticeable.

Thanks in advance, I am surprised not many people mentioning these problems on the internet but I did see some Reddit posts i wonder if not many people are being affected or just that there are many other options for people to bother complain nowadays and I don't use social media much to post there but I may have to do it eventually if it reaches anyone who can fix this.

There has been a legitimate issue with the bookmarks since the 92.0 update. This applies only to Windows 7 users. The list is very lazy and will actually freeze up. It takes forever to highlight the bookmark you want and the favicons are delayed in populating. Refreshing Firefox doesn't work. Renaming favicons.sqlite and places.sqlite, and those with the -shm and -wal extensions, if existing, doesn't work either. I don't need help from contributors. The following message is to the developers &/or whoever bastardized Firefox since the 92.0 update...

As I stated, this is a Windows 7 issue. The developers should fix this problem for us Windows 7 users. It was them who caused this issue since the 92.0 update. Everything worked perfect until then. Here’s a bright idea for the developers. How about getting this matter fixed, so that us Windows 7 users can have the same functionality as everyone else. Stop screwing around with a million and one updates every year. You people are doing more harm than good. The people running Chrome are a hell of a lot more intelligent. No issues whatsoever with Windows 7! Try that on for size.
