When I use the `--search` CLI option, Firefox searches the supplied term in a new window.

I want it to open itself in a new tab instead, so I tried out the following combination of CLI options:

``` $ firefox --new-tab --search "example" ```

Firefox does search for the given term, but it opens itself in a new window instead of a new tab, thus ignoring the `--new-tab` option.

Am I doing something wrong?

There a number of web sites (eg Trustpilot, Moneysupermarket) where an irritating 'Use your Google account to sign in' popup appears on the login page. Is there any way I can stop this appearing?

Hello, I'm running FF 124.0.2 64 but in Win 10 on a PC. I have the bookmarks right across the top of the page; the sixth from the left at the moment is Seloger's website. If I have a tab open looking at a TV program website and right click on a link to see more details in a new tab, the new tab opens ok, but the TV program website is overwritten by the Seloger's website. If I use the "previous" arrows, it reverts to the TV program site. If I change the order of the bookmarks across the page, the TV program website will be overwritten by the bookmark then in the sixth from left position. This is driving me mad. How can I force FF to stay with the open tab and not change it by itself?

When I download PDFs on my MacBook using Firefox (currently 124.0.2 (64-bit)), they are always blank - I have attached a screen shot.

But if I download the same PDF using Safari, it opens straightaway - 2nd screen shot.

Is there something I need to adjust in Firefox to allow PDFs to open?

I am having a new (to me) problem logging in to Flickr using Firefox on my laptop (running Windows). After supplying the requested email and password at log in, I was prompted to enter a verification code that was sent to my account email address. After promptly entering the verification code, I was returned to the original log in page. There was no error message to indicate that either the address, password, or verification code were incorrect or that anything else had gone awry. I was simply not logged in. I repeated this process a few more times with no change.

Then I tried two other browsers (same laptop) and logged in sucessfully without even having a prompt for verification code from Flickr. I also have access to the account through the Flickr app on my phone. I am not sure then what Flickr is encountering with Firefox in particular. Any suggestions? Thank you.

When I open github it loads incorrectly as shown in the picture, after I press F5 to reload the site load fine. I have tried deleting cookies and I am using any ad-blocker. Any help? Thanks.

I'm a new user to Firefox on my Mac. I don't see a Share button that would allow me to email the current web site to a friend. Looking for help on the web, I see:

To access the feature, simply click on the Share button on the toolbar. The Share button looks like a paper airplane and is located to the right of the address bar.

but I just don't see any button or icon that looks like that.

I went into View > Toolbars > Customize Toolbars and didn't see a way to add a Share button. I clicked 'Restore to Defaults' and that didn't help.

I know I can choose File > Share from the menu but I'd rather have a toolbar item.

Having tried all pointers to how to display this data, I give up and present my case here: In a banking app, the login field is blank and requires me to enter the correct Login ID. This works fine. However, if I double click on that field, an option is displayed, happening to be my email address, which will not work in this case; a numeric value is required.

So, knowing a prompt is enabled, I have entirely failed to get 'it' to save the correct ID. I have also find a place in Firefox settings where I can see and modify the value that comes up. I do however remember doing exactly that for some other site.

So, as I have said, I cannot find this in the Passwords nor the Settings pages. What am I missing?

Help would be much appreciated.

I am on a brand-new machine and having trouble setting up the Firefox browser.

When I click on a link it opens in a new window with all the tabs ready opened.

How do I open a tab without opening a new window?

Also, how do I set Yahoo.com as my default search engine?

it keeps popping this message up "firefox is installing components needed to play audio or video on this page, please try again later" its been saying this since the new update and keeps telling me failed to check for update.

latest 124.0.2 causing severe problems, it will near instantly bloat to fill all RAM and SWAP even in safe mode causes system load over 24! only solution is to reboot very problematic on for ex: https://epg.pw/xmltv/epg_CA.xml hard to get a screencap since system is nearly totally unresponsive. Hello! I synced my browsing data yesterday by signing in to firefox account and reset my OS(window 10) to improve my laptop's speed. When I am trying to get back my browsing data back after resetting and installing firefox by signing in to my firefox account and pressing the Sync Now button then its not giving me my browsing data back. Why is it so? Need Help. Thank You!!

Had to reformat and reinstall my Intel Mac with System 10.4.11. Can't download install dmg from the ftp site because my id and password don't get me into the FTP website.

When I right click the taskbar and press close Firefox, here comes the interface just as the screenshot uploaded. The blue close button doesn't response no matter how I click it and the Firefox's taskbar is flashing yellow. This bug only occurs on the first window of Firefox and only when user right click the taskbar.

It has been a long time for me wishing that some updates would be released soon to fix this issue, while noting happens. Or this bug is only for me?

I always want the address bar suggestions to start with my bookmarks. Is there a way to control the results? I remember there was something in about:config previously.

printer is not recognized as being online although my other devices don't have the problem. i use Firefox on all devices

I frequently attempt to open news articles or other pages requiring form fill-in but instead get a page that advises me to disable an adblocker. I have no idea what Firefox (yes, up-to-date) uses or how I could set it to allow pop-ups for a particular site. Help!
